Anyone With Lap Band In San Diego

Recommended Posts

So far I just have the forum for support! Its hard finding people from San Diego who are regulars on here. :( Its even a struggle to keep a workout buddy but I take support anywhere I can get it! ;)

I have been using this site as my main support!! Have you found anything??

I think the best way to start a local support group would be to just pick a day/time/location and start it up. One or two people would have to commit to being there each time to ensure continuity. Then put out the word and see if it grows.

Do somewhere like a Starbucks on a weekday evening at around 5 or 6 pm? We could just get together a chat. Or even Shakespeare Pub on India Street.

Are you all thinking about a weekly or monthly gathering?

Thoughts?

I think getting together would be AWESOME! Only problem will be picking a day and time that will work with most of us. I can not do evenings at all but could do a morning coffee around 10am someplace....anyone free about that time?

I can do Saturday or Sunday 10 AM, or could do a short coffee (like 30 minutes or so) at 10 AM Mon-Thurs in the Mira Mesa area. I work near Miramar. Mon-Fri 6:30am to 3pm, but cannot get out of the office on Fridays.

Shay, what time to you walk after work?

Hi all! My name is Chrissy and I am in the process of getting my medical clearance finished up (have already done my psych evaluation). So I don't have a surgery date yet but I am hoping to get one soon. I am in La Mesa, CA and I am looking for people close by to talk to online maybe even meet up with at some point for support. Even though I am a little nervous/scared about the surgery I am super excited because I feel I have let my weight hold me back for too long and I am so over it.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
