Anyone who sets him or herself up as one who knows everything about God's will and plan is someone whose words cannot be trusted. And the more they proclaim that they have the formula that trumps all other religions and churches, the more they need to learn about humanity, life, peace and happiness.

I'm not a genius but these things are obvious to people who have learned that they don't know everything and who are willing to continue to seek enlightenment and knowledge that goes far beyond the endoctrination of conventional religious teachings.

Who said I know everything? I have been an avid studier of God's word for over 25 years, and have gone to bible school. I would qualify myself as someone who is well versed in his word. But, everything, no. I am still delving into the bible on a daily basis and learning more and more every time I read it. So, if that's what you thought about me, you are mistaken. I am constantly learning everytime I pick up the book. As for "having the formula", as you call it, I will not back down on that. I DO have the "formula". Jesus said," I am the way and the truth and the life and no man comes to the Father but through me." Period.

Anyone can know God's will and plan. He reveals them to us in his word. None of it is a secret to those who desire to search for it in the scriptures. He wants us to know his will and plans. So, when I tell you that I know something, it is because I read it in the bible, or the principle is taught in there.

Also, I was never "indoctrinated" by conventional religious teachings. I've been indoctrinated by the bible, which are God's words to mankind. Nothing more.

You do take things personally, don't you. I was speaking in general terms about the far right wing. Which I know you do consider yourself a part of. And rightfully so, if we are to go by the words you write.

But I am very glad that you admit to at least being indoctrinated by the Bible and your "bible school." Even if you are loathe to admit that it is really religious indoctrination.

Other Christian religions use the Bible as their Bible. But not all, in fact not most, of them agree with the way you've interpreted it or the "formula" you've created - FROM YOUR TEACHINGS.

I can't help but hold out hope for you. Somewhere inside you I have a feeling there is a reasonable, lovely person just waiting to bust out.

Now that's a fact. But too bad you don't understand how much of a loss it is for you too.

Just with the work Patty has done over the years with children and foster care alone shows me the lovely person she is. I could care less if she is right or left wing, Rep. or Dem. Yes, she is much more religious than I am.

Yes she reads the Bible more. I don't agree with her views all the time. But, lovely person? Yes, I see her.

Hummingbird, thank you.

Good for you Hummingbird! My thoughts are probably influenced too much by the very hard edge she reveals of her personality and the hard line she takes toward others in her posts.

You seem to be very generous of spirit and that is a good thing to be.

That's very kind Hummingbird.

I have a really hard time getting past the hard edged tone she has toward people in her posts and the very hard line she takes with politics and religion.

You obviously have a very generous spirit and that's a good thing.

Is anyone else having this problem with this R&R forum? I see the last person who posted and the time but it isn't showing up.

Like it shows BJean as having posted here at 9:08 AM today but the last post showing up for me is April 10th by BJean.

This has been happening more and more. Did the last poster delete their message? I don't know why I can see the last message.

It is the polls. When somebody votes in a poll it does that.

It drove me crazy on a couple of them when it kept saying that I was the last poster and I hadn't posted to the thread in months.

Thanks for clearing that up. I'd wondered about that too. And I just noticed that somehow I managed to post the same (similar) thing twice above. Undoubtedly computer error. Heh!

He also tells us that we shouldn't speak about our beliefs loudly to others.

Wait for it, waaaaaaiiit for it and there she is!(Patty)

I know this is an old post but I just had to do that.

This a simple poll. I am not trying to start any kind of philosophical debate here.

So much for not starting a philosophical debate.:scared2:

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
