I have been approved and just need to lose 10 more pounds to get the surgery scheduled. I have just been told a lot about the sleeve and people are saying it is better. I am thinking the band will work better for me and have been set on it since the start. I guess I just worry that something bad will happen to me..but I need the band. I need help to lose this weight and sooner then later.
Thank you so much for your time and help

yeah- I definitely notice that after I workout I'm tighter-- same sensation as in the mornings. Last night I went to the gym, and noticed it right away.
I will look into the toning classes. They offer a "bootcamp" thing here, but I'm not sure what it consists of. I do think I need to try something new, because at times my weight loss is stalling. I added weight machines after my cardio, and that seemed to help, but I still think I need to shake it up a bit.

My secret is I eat alot of chicken and fish. I measure everything. I'm not a fanatic in exercise but I try to walk at least 4-5 times a week. Anywhere from 3-5 miles. I use my Wii Fit at home. And I made up my mind that I am going to do this. I think the biggest secret is not to give into head hunger. Plus I reward myself once and awhile. This isn't a diet, it's a lifestyle change. Diets have always failed me. But once I started losing the weight and seeing the great results, it was just a matter of keeping myself going. And it helps to have good support.

Hi, Do not get depressed. You can make the choice to change your life once and for all. It is a process. I resisted the process for over a year before I got banded. My sister had the GBP and has gain weight back. Then once I made my mind up, I never wanted to wear FAT CLOTHES again I was a size 24 Plus. I went thru the process I was banded almost one year ago. I can't tell you how fast this year has gone and how much better my life is today. I skied this winter and I now wear a size 12p cuz I am short. I have become a shop a holic. My husband says You go girl this is your reward to yourself you earned it. Lets be friends and we can chat about your progress. I was born July 18, 1956 so we are close in age. I feel like I am 18 again no kidding. I ride a bike, dance, swim, ski, Blog and I always have something to wear now. I love to go places. Best wishes and I hope to hear from you again. I will be posting more this summer on a blog and on here, this is the greatest encouragement I have found! After surgery walk, walk, walk, do as your Dr.'s instruct and you will do fine, totally serious it seems like one day I was huge and then I wasn't, i did not loose any weight for 4 months and still went down 3 pants sizes, the only exercise I do is walk 30-45 min. a day 4-5 times a week, high protien diet at least 75 grams prot. a day.

Hi Sue, well put 3lbs on after having to swop a hol from Vegas to Devon then hand a bombshell. Ray has left to be with his wife, they think her cancer is back and it could be terminal so he wants to do the right thing. He wouldn't have left if she hadn't been ill. So I lost the 3lbs then 3lbs more - so this was the answer to a lap band! Anyway trying to get myself together but it is difficult at moment, hopefully the weight will come off and I can have a fresh start. Having my 2nd fill on 13th fingers crossed I am nearer to that sweet spot.
How are you doing, take care, Susan x

Hi Pam! well for me i had a goal in my head. i knew where i wanted to be and i kept telling myself that i didnt go through all of this for nothing. we all have struggles as i am having right now myself but i still keep thinking about my goal. i dont want to feel like a failure. i have not been exercising like i should either and i have hit a plateau but you cant give up. i have not given up on my band because i would not be where i am today without it. so dont get comfortable with it you have to find a way to make it work for you. stay on this site looking at before and after pics...that's one thing that ALWAYS motivates me. get your mind set that you are going to do what you know you should be doing to lose the weight.

Today is 3 days post op. I am not sure about the restriction but I know I am not having any problem staying within calorie restriction to loose weight. That is night.
-
Thank you! Why you may ask.............because I'm glad I am not alone. I thought I was the only one feeling like I could eat "normal amounts" after their surgery. I lost 30lbs pre op and already have gained back 4lbs. The only reason I haven't gained more back is due to exercising everyday since 2wks post op. Have you started exercising yet?
As for the large incision, my surgeon told me to right of it was my port. Mine is also sensitive. I get my fill May 18th I hope it feels ok by then. When do you get a fill?....lets hope for major restriction on the first try!!
-
The first fill wasn't bad at all, and I hope that it gives good restriction! I had gained 2 pounds, and have just today let go of 1.5 of them. It is frustrating, excersize got me thru.
-
Congratulations!! You'll have to let me know how you feel. How was the fill? Do you feel restriction when you eat not? Did you gian weight after eating "normal" for a few weeks, because I am still up 2 pounds!!!!

Hello Regine, Hows things going for you? I started going to a new weightloss support group at a local hospital. It is great. I realized that alot of feelings I am having is just normal for new weightloss patients. They are so supportive and helpful. I plan going each month. I get my first fill May 20th. I am looking forward to it, I dont have much restriction at this point. I have started keeping a better food journal and the weight has been coming off again. Its shocking how unhealthy I have eaten in the past now that I check all the cal, carb, and protiens in foods. This is defiately not easy like others think

I am doing well. It was fun being there for the kids, and my wife sure loved coming home to dinner and a clean house. How is the looser bench treating you? I have pataued and can eat a ton of food! Trying not to gain any weight right now. Any who, let me know how the batle is going.

Yvette, thank you for your response to my blog post! I want to make sure you understand that I agree with you completely. What I was trying to get across in my post is that while some things have stuck with me (like my guy friends comment) and I have always blamed my weight for a lot of things, what is important is what radiates from within. It is important for ME to love me. I certainly didn't mean to indicate that bigger women don't date (quite happily even!) Again, thanks for the feedback!

I wish I were 250!!! Congrats to you! So far the weight has just been falling off. I eat mostly proteins, I do have carbs but no breads, sweets, sodas, or anything like that. Oh, and no crackers, chips, popcorn - you know, any of the things I would eat like, daily. LOL. I've been going to the gym maybe 3 times a week. But today I was beating myself up because the stupid scale said I went up 2 f'ing pounds. I'm still working on my emotional baggage that I carry!!! Take it easy Sister!

Hi Molly.
How have you been doing these past days? managing?
Me not so much. I'm actually starting to doubt myself, thinking that the surgery will out of all ppl not work on me.
I actually posted about it. Hopefully my doubts are clearing up, and I will loose weight. I hope.
Hope your doing well.
