  1. I am officially a BANDSTER!!! So glad the surgery is behind me...Now the healing process---I'm swollen like a Christmas goose!!! LOL But I am hoping that subsides soon and that the soreness wears off. Just had to shout out!! It's an exciting road I'm on!!! :smile2:
  2. I'm amazed that I lived through the first 2 weeks of the liquid diet!! <<chuckle>> 18 lbs down, though---not bad for 13 days. Now I just need to get past tomorrow and the NEXT 2 weeks of liquids!! Man, I can't wait to use a fork at mealtime---I'm tired of spoons! :tt2: Hahahahaha.....Anyhooo---wish me luck, y'all. This will be my first surgery of any kind!! I can't believe it---tomorrow I will be a BANDSTER!! Yee haw!!!
  3. Good for you!! It's going to be over before you know it!! I'm being banded on Wednesday myself------and I can't wait!!! Actually, I'm just anxious to get past the surgery and the last part of the liquid diet so I can chew something again!! LOL This liquid diet is very challenging. But it works!!!! Anyhooo---best of luck to you!!
  4. Hey---sorry to hear of your protein shake issues! I'm on day 9 of my liquid diet and I agree---it sucks! However, I have no problems with the protein I bought. It's actually quite good. I got it at a place called Vitamin World. The protein is call "Precision Engineered Whey Protein" and I got the natural flavor. I mix 2 scoops with 1 1/2 cups of skim milk. Shake it up and I swear---it tastes just like milk left over from when you've had a big bowl of Frosted Flakes. I've tried it with water and while it isn't that great, you could definitley add it to Koolaid or something. Anyhoo---just a thought for you to look into...This liquid is no fun and it's not easy---so every little idea to make it better counts! Good luck!! We'll be Bandster's before you know it!!
  5. Thanks for the well wishes...And Catherine--if I can have success like you've accomplished, I will be a VERY happy Bandster!!!
  6. This liquid diet has been an eye opener, y'all! Writing down everything I "eat" has been interesting, too. Just 8 more days of this and then I'm BANDED!! <<sigh>> I'm glad because this 'all liquid' thing is tough!! No cheating though which amazes me!! :grouphug: Anyhoo---just wanted to say to other people on the liquid diet------ if I can do this, anyone can!! Just hang in there!! You can do it!!
  7. Good luck to you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. Wow---so many kind peeps here with words of support. I love it! Today is day 3 for me and I can say whole heartedly that: LIQUID DIETS SUCK!!! <<chuckle>> But---I'm down 8lbs in 3 days---holy cow!! So I'm going to hang in there and I hope everyone else who is currently doing their pre-op diet hangs in there, too! We can get through this!!!
  9. Awww, thanks a lot!! And congrats to you on your success! How fabulous!!!
  10. Ok, so far it's not been too bad. The protein shake I got is great---I got the unflavored kind so I can make it taste like whatever I want it to. I mixed it with skim milk and a 1/2 tsp of sugar free waffle syrup-------it tastes just like the milk left after you've had a bowl of cereal! Who doesn't love that?? I'm sure day 2 and 3 are likely to not be as 'pain free' as day 1. However---I'm ready for it so bring it on!! <<chuckle>> It's good incentive to get a hobby or something so I don't just think about food all day I guess...LOL Wish me luck, folks. I know I can do this! Size 10 jeans, here I come!!!!!!! Whoo hoo!!!
  11. Good luck to you tomorrow, NaveyWifey!! Exciting times for you, too!!! Keep me posted on how you're doing!! Thanks spoiltmom---my insurance is Anthem BC/BS. Thanks newmein10---my pre-op visit is July 12th. Have to see the doctor for my physical and stuff then have to go to the hospital for blood work and tests I guess. PuppyBandit---so sorry to hear how you've struggled! That has to be sooooooo aggravating for them to keep stringing you along!! Not cool for sure! I will cross my fingers for you that you get some good news quickly!!!
  12. I heard some of the sweetest words today!! "You are APPROVED by your insurance for surgery!!!" I finally got the much hoped for phone call today from my doctor's office!! Feels like I have been waiting forever when in reality it only took 3 weeks...My surgery is scheduled for July 21st!! I am sooooooooo ready for this!! Thanks to everyone for all their kind words of support during the 'waiting process.' Healthy living, here I come!! Whoo hoo!!!
  13. YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mo, I am sooooooooooooo happy for you!!! WHat great news to get on a Friday morning!! Yeehaw!!!!!! :bored:
  14. Scoot over girl, cause I'm sittin' in the same boat with you! LOL :-) I keep looking at my phone, willing it to ring. Bah! So far nothing. <<chuckle>> Patience is not a virtue of mine either. At least we're in good company, eh?
  15. Congrats!! Sounds like you have all your 'ducks in a row!' :-)
