Bodybugg users report here!
When you create your program, you determine how much weight to lose a week and it lets you know what your deficit should be.

Bodybugg users report here!
I don't focus on how many calories it says I should eat. My goal is to have a deficit of at least 1000 calories a day. If I get that, I am fine. As for the food journal, it is a bit cumbersome at first. However, if you eat the same foods each week, once you've entered them (if they are not on BB's list) it gets easier.

Bodybugg users report here!
This is a great thread! I love my Bodybugg (thanks to puddin' also). When I do what I'm supposed to and use this tool, it really works. (Hmm, sounds familiar...) The combination of the band and the bugg are what help me.

A thread for super-sized bandsters - starting BMI over 50?
I lost track of this thread for awhile, but now I'm caught up again. It's so nice to read the posts here and be able to relate!!!

Anyone else out there?
Sounds like addiction transference. I worry about it all the time. I don't drink a lot (once or twice a month) but I wonder if I ever kick this food addiction if I'll switch to something else. Some people transfer their food addictions to alcohol, some to drugs, some to sex, and some to exercise. I'm hoping for the exercise one! (Hah!)

Sincere question for super sizers
This thread has been awesome to read. To read so many experiences similar to mine has helped so much. I'm trying to rededicate myself to this journey and this is inspiring.

Does Crystal Light count as water?
Very interesting! Thanks so much for the info. I'll just stick to my other favorite flavors.

Does Crystal Light count as water?
It's not the sweetener for me because I can drink all other types of Crystal Light with no problem. I just can't handle the Fruit Punch which sucks because I love it.

December Bandsters
Just wanted to let people know that some of us have found each other again in this thread: http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f107/anyone-banded-december-06-a-36957/

Does Crystal Light count as water?
I haven't researched it, but I was thinking maybe it was the red dye?
-
Does Crystal Light count as water?
I love the fruit punch, but when I drink it a lot I get a headache.

Does Crystal Light count as water?
I love Crystal Light and drink it more than I drink water. Is this ok? Or should I stick to plain water?

Central Florida Lapbandsters?
Just wanted to introduce myself. Central Florida here, banded in December in Mexico (Dr. Rumbaut). Not exactly where I want to be weight-wise but it's entirely my fault. I'm refocused and rededicated now so I hope to see the lbs start coming off again.

Steady losers ;-)
In other words, you may be burning 3200 calories a day but you need to subtract what you eat from it. That is the deficit. So if you're burning 3200 and eating 2200 a day, that ends up being a 1000 calorie deficit a day which should lead to a 2lb loss in a week.

That's why I like my bodybugg (when I'm doing what I'm supposed to). It tells me all the calories I burn in a day, subtracts what I eat when I enter it and tells me whether or not I have deficit. You need a deficit of at least 3500 calories a week to lose one pound a week. That averages to a deficit of 500 calories a day.

I was on it when it was Xenical. Nasty stuff. I won't go on it again.

I'm ok. I canceled my fill appointment because I was still ill from the weekend. Let's just say I now need to swear off alcohol!!! I did get on my elliptical yesterday for 30 minutes. I'm going to shoot for every other day. I cut out the sweets yesterday and only had a small sample today when I went to Publix. I'm a sugar addict so that's a plus for me. Still fighting the head hunger like crazy, though. I can't believe I've had this band 6 months and I haven't made progress. It's all my fault, though. I've started having the "wish I had had RNY" thoughts but then I remind myself that that would have been cutting up my insides. I've had 2 days of success (as I define it) so hopefully I'll keep going. Thanks, Nat, for always checking in on me!!!

Did anyone get there lap band done in mexico?
Dr. Rumbaut here. WONDERFUL experience. Fills through fillcentersusa.com which is adding up. But I could fly to Monterrey and get free fills if I wanted to. But then that's hotel, travel, etc to pay for. I do want to make it back one day though!
-
What is your current fill in your 4cc band?
Add me as one who can eat salads no problem. Of course, I drown them in dressing so I'm sure that helps. That's also why I need to stay away from them!

Bman.. Wow, you look AMAZING!!! Nat, thanks for checking in on me! I'm struggling... BUT, I go for another fill Monday and I'm determined to get my head on straight. I now have my own elliptical, too, so there's no excuse. I'm giving myself until Monday (which sounds horribly like my old habits!) and my fill to get my sh*t together. Congrats to everyone who is doing so well!!!

Banded Teachers Talk - BTT
You are a saint!!! The elementary school I teach at feeds into that school. I love the kids, but they are a CHALLENGE as you know. Good for you! I'm moving to middle school next year (not Boone) and I'm very nervous. I love the little ones! But, I got my Ed Leadership from USF, am in the AP pool, and wanted to round out my experiences. I had my second fill there and am going for my 3rd Friday. I love that place.

Slow Losers - Unite!
Bloody hell. I didn't know a Long Island Iced Tea had that many calories!!! I need to stop drinking when I go out.
-
Steady losers ;-)
I'm still getting used to the fill. Falling into the habit of eating easy, but bad foods, that will go down. Last night I concentrated on small bites and it really made a difference. I'll get my head on straight one of these days.

December Bandsters
Ok, this is sounding like me. However, I know I'm not taking the proper bite sizes and eating slow enough. When you were too tight, were you taking pinky nail sized bites and eating very slowly? I'm trying to figure out if it's just my behavior that needs changing or if I need an unfill.

How could you tell she is too tight? I worry about this sometimes.
