Anyone else out there?

I've been off the boards for awhile, and now trying to get refocused.

Since I couldn't turn to food anymore, slowly I ended up turning to the bottle.

I haven't had a drink in 10 days now. But I was drinking everyday, and it was turning into a problem.

Am I alone in this? or has anyone else fallen down this road?

I'm sorry to hear about that, not having gone through this i can't help you but hopefully someone here can help you with that. If not, one thing i could suggest is maybe seing a psychologist, because it's a process and i think seing a professional might help.

I use to enjoy drinking beer before I was banded. So I have had to give up two things food and beer. Im finding it hard to find other things to do. I keep telling myself to go join the gym so while everyone else is enjoying their beer and chips I would have something to do also. But going to the gym just doesnt sound like much fun. :biggrin1:

But on a serious note, you are not alone. Some people may just find it hard to admit to.

Sounds like addiction transference. I worry about it all the time. I don't drink a lot (once or twice a month) but I wonder if I ever kick this food addiction if I'll switch to something else. Some people transfer their food addictions to alcohol, some to drugs, some to sex, and some to exercise. I'm hoping for the exercise one! (Hah!)
