Now I Just Feel Like a Failure
I so could have written this post. I was just about to start my own thread when I saw this one. I feel AWFUL. I'm eating the same crap as before, even with restriction. I don't know what I can do to get my head on straight. I tried everything pre-band (including counseling) and it never worked. Now I wonder if I'm destined to super morbid obesity and an early death. I am so disgusted and depressed about this. I'm going to read the rest of this thread and hope to get some encouragement.

December Bandsters in February!
I have good restriction, but my eating habits are piss poor. Tomorrow, I have decided to stick to only 3 meals and no snacking. I hope it helps. I didn't pay all this money to mess up again!

A thread for super-sized bandsters - starting BMI over 50?
I threw up right after surgery after taking a pill, also. I know how scary it is but as long as you don't do it continually, you're probably ok.

December Bandsters in February!
I had a co-worker ask me how much more I plan on losing. I said A LOT! She said she loved me however I am and I had to explain I was doing it for my health. I think it's going to be interesting to see how people react to the new me. They've only ever known me as fat. *I've* only ever known me as fat!

So I took your advice, made my meal last 30 min and no urge to PB, no pain, nothing. THANK YOU! I'm so glad it's me and not the fill. I just need to get it together and eat more slowly with smaller bites. It's going to be a challenge but tonight I proved I can do it. Thanks again.

Thank you, I will. That seems to be the hardest part for me. Grrrrr.

December Bandsters in February!
I'm having issues with my fill. I have pb'd every day so far. I don't think I'm overfilled, though. I honestly think I'm just eating too fast and taking bigger bites than I should. It doesn't happen until after the 4th or 5th bite. I thought with an overfill you couldn't even keep the first bite down. Any advice?

I could have written this post myself. I'm anxious to see the responses.

December Bandsters in February!
I've been wondering about the eating between meals thing. I'm so used to being told to eat 3 meals and 2 Snacks that now I don't know what to do. Maybe I'll do a poll...

Honestly, I was so happy to have 2.5cc I forgot to ask how soon I'd be able to go back. I just assumed that would do it. But I'm not feeling it at all. I'm hoping, hoping, hoping I will when I move to solids on Tuesday.

What is your current fill in your 4cc band?
Well, I just got back from my first fill a little bit ago. The doctor was awesome, but the fill wasn't smooth. It wasn't terrible either, though! Apparently, my port is deep in and she had a hard time finding it. I thought I did it under fluoro, but it sounds different than others' experiences; it was still difficult. It hurt the first time she put the needle in so she sprayed me again and the second time it went in. I kept praying she'd find it. Finally, she said she thought she had it and that if she was able to remove fluid it meant she was in. Thankfully, she was able to insert and remove fluid! We were both relieved at that point. She ended up putting 2.5cc in, which thrilled me. I was afraid she would only put 1cc in. I'm on clear liquids for two days and full liquids for two more days. I just ate a sf jello and didn't feel restricted, but I'm hoping that's just because it's liquids. Unless, I'm still waiting for that stuffed feeling. But I'm happy I got as much as I did and I really hope the scale starts going down again! As for my port, I'm sure it's all the fat covering it! But, I do still feel a bit weird when I bend over and I have major scar tissue at the incision. It's very hard. I may e-mail my doc about it.

I thought I'd post this here, too. You all have helped me so much with your posts and I really appreciate it. I usually lay low here, but I wanted to share my experience. I just got back from my first fill a little bit ago. The doctor was awesome, but the fill wasn't smooth. It wasn't terrible either, though! Apparently, my port is deep in and she had a hard time finding it. I did it under fluoro but it seems like it wasn't the same as others' experience; it was still difficult. I go for my first fill tomorrow. I can't wait. I just hope I get restriction, even if it's a little.

December Bandsters in February!
I e-mailed my doctor about ibuprofen because Tylenol was NOT working on my headaches. His assistant told me that it would be fine to take ibuprofen. The conflicting information (as always!) concerns me a bit, but I'd rather take one dose of ibuprofen than multiple doses of Tylenol to get the same effect.

December Bandsters
Just wanted to make sure any December bandsters who haven't been on lately know that most of us are posting in the December bandsters in February thread. Seems easier to keep up.

December Bandsters in February!
Oops, didn't know this thread had opened. I was waiting for a link to be posted. Glad I checked! As for hunger, I've been hungry all day yesterday and today. I don't know what's up. Thank god I go for a fill Feb. 9th. I feel myself slipping into old habits. I'm going to try and up the exercise this upcoming week to see if that helps. I also need to find a high-Protein, fast and easy Breakfast food. Any suggestions?

Kirsten, maybe you could post the link here and in the original December bandsters thread so everyone knows where we are?

I totally get where she's coming from. I think I would have run away. No offense against him or anyone else involved in their church. I just wouldn't be the right fit for someone who is.

What kind of elliptical machine do you have and where did you get it? I can't seem to get my ass to the gym so I'm wondering if I'd be better off just having a machine at home.

Maybe we should post this thread in the Dec. bandsters thread to remind people? Or are we going to start a December Bandsters in February thread?

How often do you exercise?
I know exercise is an absolute must, but I was wondering how often everyone exercises.

December Bandsters in January!
I'd love to go back to Mexico, but financially it makes more sense for me to have my fill here. I used Fillcentersusa.com to find a fill doctor. However, Dr. Rumbaut's office also gave me a list of doctors who would do my fill. I went with fillcentersusa after reading about them here.
