  1. You might try upping your calories. 800 seems kind of low. It's worth a try. Good luck and keep us posted!
  2. How great is that!!! Yay! I am so happy for you.
  3. When I felt light headed, I was anemic. Take iron and try to get in as much protein as possible. Hope you feel better soon!
  4. I had one and it really wasn't a big deal. The drain is what drove me crazy!
  5. Yay! You are making a SUPER decision. One that is going to change your life in AMAZING ways!!!
  6. I had a revision from the band to the sleeve. The only complication I had was that one of my incisions came open. The cause of this was going back to work after two weeks and a pair of pants I wore kept rubbing against the incision. I just had to be careful and keep it covered. It healed fine. Other than that, the rest was just discomfort from having surgery that was mostly cured with pain meds. I do remember having some "head" hunger issues from not eating, but I physically was not hungry. There were days when I felt weak, but I got some Five Hour Energy and it really helped. I recall feeling better each day and when I could eat real food again, I started to feel like myself. The weight loss really keeps you motivated. I agree that any pain is worth it!!!
  7. The head hunger gets better once you can eat real food again. There are days when I still have the head hunger at a year out. Usually I just will eat a bite of what I am wanting and then I am through. My sleeve always wins!
  8. So sorry you are going through this. I think the best thing to do is to move forward and see if you can find a way to revise to the sleeve. I was self pay for my band in Mexico (and I had a good experience there), but my band just didn't work for me. I revised to the sleeve and have been so successful. There is still hope for you. Many of us have had revisions to the sleeve after paying $8,000-10,000 for our bands. It is so hard to lose that kind of money, but it is just a chance you take to be healthy. Start researching revisions so you can make your dreams come true! The sleeve works, so don't give up!
  9. I am sure it is water gain. Don't stress too much! Your body is adjusting to all the changes.
  10. The sleeve has been one of the best decisions of my life! The sleeve will help you get control over your food issues so that you can lose the weight and keep it off. I know it is a big decision to have the surgery, but it is so worth it. I never felt full until I had the sleeve. It is so nice to know that I have this tool to help me for the rest of my life. I completely recommed the sleeve!!! Good luck on your journey.
  11. I know I have heard many other sleevers share that they have had my issue of always being cold. Please tell me any ideas you have tried to help you stay warm. I am thinking of buying an electric blanket with a gift card I got for Christmas. Anyone else try this? It seems lately that I am super cold and it is driving my hubby crazy since he hates being hot. LOL
  12. I had my revision a year ago. I LOVE my sleeve because it works. The band never did. Congrats!
  13. Yay! The time is going to fly by! Congrats.
  14. It sounds like you may be anemic. I felt dizzy when my iron was low. Try to get in as much protein as possible and make sure to take your vitamins. Feel better soon!
  15. Congratulations! Welcome to this wonderful forum. I look forward to hearing about your journey.
  16. You are rocking the sleeve! Amazing!!!
  17. It is normal to hit stalls. I think just about everyone hits some sort of stall around three weeks. I had a huge stall in November at 11 months post op. The scale didn't go down, but everyone kept asking me if I had lost more weight. I was losing inches. Just keep following the rules and the scale will drop again.
  18. I remember being very scared before surgery when I would think about having most of my stomach cut out. At the same time, I knew I couldn't live my life morbidly obese anymore. Sure there are risks, but life is full of them. You take a risk every time you get in your car and drive. The sleeve complication rate is very low. Most people love the sleeve and do very well after surgery. The sleeve has completely changed my life. I think the risks are worth it. Obesity has so many negative risks both medically and emotionally. I think you should discuss your concerns with your doctor. If you have a good surgeon and follow the pre and post op rules, you will put the odds in your favor. I know there is a lot to consider with the surgery, but I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. I love being able to live my life!
  19. You are doing amazing! Congrats!
  20. Most times I just order a la carte items when I go out to eat. Every once in a while I will order a full meal and just eat a few bites. Then I will just take the rest home. Some waiters seem to have a huge promblem with this and think something is wrong with the food. Most of the time I don't feel like going into the whole weight loss surgery story with the waiter. Today I had the waiter keep asking if everything was okay and if I wanted something else because I couldn't finish my food. What do you do in this situation? I used to tell the waiter I had surgery, but lately I just don't feel like I should have to. Just curious how others deal with this issue.
  21. Congrats on getting your date! You will go through so many sizes during this journey. Goodwill will be your best friend. LOL
  22. I hear a lot of good things about Dr. Sauceda. I am so glad things went well for you! I will look into him as I really need a tummy tuck.

The sleeve works! Don't worry! It's amazing. I know it works because I also had the band, which was a joke. Your life is about to change!!! Yay!
