S/o - Stomach Bugs After Sleeve?
If you get a stomach bug in the beginning, it is very hard on your body because you are still healing and there is lots of swelling still. As time goes on, it is pretty much the same. You just have to get in lots of fluids. I got sick with one awhile back and found that I had MAJOR restriction from not really eating for a couple of days. I wouldn't stress about it too much.

Vsg Regrets? Why?
NONE!!! I just wish I hadn't wasted my time getting the band and had the sleeve instead. The sleeve has been one of the best decisions of my life!

The 20% Insurance Doesn't Cover
Most hospitals will work out a payment plan. I was billed for most things, but the hospital wanted their portion up front. They would have allowed me to make payments if I couldn't have paid it then. I had a $3,000 deductible so I understand. It is a great investment!!!

Want To Get Gastric Sleeve Surgery But...
I am glad you are making this decision when you are young. You will have time to really enjoy it! The only regret I have about the sleeve is not having it sooner. Good luck. Your mom will come around. Sometimes you have to just do what is best for you.

Confession Time
Popcorn is my biggest problem! I can eat lots of it and so when I am stressed I find myself eating it. I now have to limit myself to the 100 calorie bags.

Weightloss: Am I Slacking?
I think you are doing awesome! We are all different and we are going to lose at different paces. Celebrate losing 80+ pounds and keeping it off! I don't think you should replace meals with shakes. Shakes just go right through your sleeve. It's better to eat real protein and get restriction. Congrats on doing so great! I am a December sleever too! ; )

Had band to sleeve on nov 9 new here
Welcome!!! I had a revision, too. The first few weeks are the worst. I sometimes even still get a throbbing pain where my port used to be. The sleeve is great and it works. Good luck!!!

Any Houston, Texas sleevers to start a little support group?!
I am from Houston! I am ten months post op and would love to start a group. My doc was Dr. Nowzaradan, a revision specialist, since I used to have the band.

Strategies for surviving Thanksgiving??
Thanks everyone. Great tips! I really like the idea of working out. I am going to do that for sure even though I usually don't work out on holidays. Thanksgiving is just full of so much good food and I know I need to have a game plan.

Dealing with bansters when you change.
Good luck Dave! I feel like cheated too since I self paid for my band. The sleeve is awesome though! Worth every penny!!! It works and I wish you the best.

Strategies for surviving Thanksgiving??
So I will be celebrating my first Thanksgiving sleeved next week. For some reason, I am very nervous about it! All that food that I love will be there. Even though I am ten months out, I would like to know if any of you have any tips for surviving holiday meals. I am so close to my goal and I don't want to walk away with a gain. Thanks!

Lap Band Eroded - Possible Revision To Gastric Sleeve
So sorry about your band. I understand because I have been right where you are. I self paid for my band because WLS was excluded from my insurance when I had it. We had some policy changes and when my band eroded and broke apart, my insurance agreed to cover the removal right away. I had to wait three months for a decision on the sleeve from my insurance. It was painful waiting because of the broken tubing, but I wanted to have the entire surgery at once. I would see if you can find a doctor that can remove the band and do the sleeve at one time. My band was pretty bad and my doctor was able to do it. It is possible if you find a revision specialist. Good luck. The sleeve has worked amazingly well for me. I don't miss my band one bit! Fight for the sleeve! Having my revision was one of the best decisions I could have ever made for myself.

That's great! I decided a couple of months ago to quit worrying so much about calories. I just make sure to get in 60 grams of protein each day. You are doing amazing! I am so happy for you. I wish you the best with all that is going on. This really is such a great post!

After Gastric Sleeve Surgery Bucket List
I LOVE this idea! Your number 4, shopping in the regular section of the store, is stall hard for me. I find myself wandering towards the plus sizes everytime. I have to tell myself these clothes are too big for you now! Lane Bryant is not happy with me. They just sent me a new credit card. LOL I used to do lots of shopping there. It's amazing the changes that have happened since I had the sleeve! Here are a few of mine: 1. Take a family photo for Christmas. I have been avoiding this for many years. 2. Take my kids back to DisneyWorld so I can retake all of the pictures with the new me and actually enjoy myself. 3. Take some sort of dance lessons with my hubby. I was always too self conscious about my weight to dance.
