New Year and I am going to get out of the 300's!!!!!!!!!!!!
So, I am going to go into the new year with a new set of goals. Today, I have decided to eat one meal a day and do liquids for the rest of the day. I love breakfast so I probably will have solids then. I am at 312 so I am going to do this until I see 299. I pray for dedication and courage. I know it's not going to be easy but I just have to get out of the 300's before January is up! I wanted to be 299 by the first but it didn't happen. I am not going to complain about it but move on. My plan is to do 1 hour of exercise for 5 days a week and eat/drink 1000 to 1200 calories a day. I am happy with my progress so far but I haven't seen a 2 in front of my weight in over 10 years so I am too ready for this change!

SLEEP APNEA!
I have severe sleep apnea where I stop breathing over one hundred times a night. Since the lapband is such a short surgery 45 min they didn't have any problems gettting me up but when I had a breast reduction before (2hrs) I found out about the sleep apnea they had a hard time getting me up. They also said I starting fighting! LOL! I think they were talking about me during that surgery and I could hear it and that's why I was mad when I got up! Dont' worry if they know you have sleep apnea then the Dr. will take all necessary precautions. On the serious side, I don't think sleep apnea really affects you that much during surgery because they have you under oxygen anyways so there is always air flowing.

Just Curious
I enjoyed going to see my PCP doctor once a month for 6 months because I felt like I had someone to answer to besides myself. I didn't want to see disappointment on her face when I came in so I really tried to lose some weight. I lost 15 pounds over the 6 months. It's not a lot but I tried. I was only required to do 3 months but we decided to extend it ourselves to keep me on track until I had my surgery.

4 days post op and STARVING!
No, I am at 7.3cc's now and I don't get hungry too often. When your stomach adjusts to having the band placed around it and you start getting good fills you will feel a whole lot better. Good luck!

4 days post op and STARVING!
Yea, it's normal. I heard all kinds of growlings and gurgles coming from my stomach for almost 2 weeks after surgery. I wasn't hungry because I had severe gas for over a week. I thought it was weird for my stomach to be growling all the time without feeling real hunger. I guess the lower part below the band was hungry lol!

Did Not Succeed
Yea, maybe she should go to another doctor and get tests done because the one she is at now said there is nothing wrong when they did the x-rays?
-
Did Not Succeed
Maybe you should start over with the basics to get back on track again. Drink plenty of water and eat only 3 meals a day with no snacking in between. Join the gym and work out for at least 5 days a week. If you already workout do more. I hope you get back on track and start losing again!

Nothng has changed!
Nate, I feel your pain! I didn't get any real restriction until after 7 months of my surgery!!!!!!! I am at 7.3cc's now and I have great restriction but it's still like a diet and I have to monitor what I eat. It's up to me to do what's right. I am one of the few people that can eat whatever I want. Some studies stated that bread, certain meats, ect. may be an issue but in my case I haven't crossed a food or bread that I cannot eat. I don't know if that will stay the same after I get more in my band but as for now I choose not to eat hot fluffy rolls (my favorite)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am glad I got the band even though it's not working like I thought it would at first. It will get better though as time goes. I was so upset a few months in because I was seeing everybody losing all this weight so fast and I didn't start to lose good until after I joined the gym. I'm like why I gotta workout to pull big numbers every month. But, I just came to realize everybody is different and that's what's so great about life!

Christmas / New Years
I really love going to the gym! I have been going on and off for years but this time I am here to stay! I have found a place to workout for free so I don't have to worry about the extra money now. I am too excited about that so I have no excuses this time! LOL! Good luck!

Mixed feelings
I totally understand what you are talking about with the breast reduction! I had one too and I never knew how much my breast hid my stomach until they took 10lbs of breast tissue away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Christmas Visit Home
I lost 3lbs over the week! I stayed with my aunt that made a comment or shook her head every time I ate something. So thanks to her I felt guilty the whole week and never finished eating anything! I went to the gym a few time also. Congrats on staying on track!

Thoughts On Exercise.
I agree! I love the gym and I love the changes that my body is making because of working out! I am getting more compliments than ever! I feel really good after working out too. I feel like I just accomplished something big even though it's not to some people lol!

8 weeks have not lost ONE POUND !
You really didn't give too much information to what you are eating or if you are working out. So, if you are not working out start and if you are increase the minutes or days or intensity. Drink more water and cut out high calorie drinks. You may need to decrease your calories. Sometimes small amounts of food can still pack plenty of calories. If you are snacking stop. I didn't lose any weight over 3 months this past summer and it was because I wasn't working out enough, snacking too much, drinking too many calories, and I didn't have the proper fill. You will eventually get to a fill where it helps but until then don't sabotage yourself like I did.

Glad Holidays are over !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
All of you should have stayed with my aunt over the holidays!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I spent the week with her and she shook her head or made a comment everytime I put anything in my mouth!!!!! I was so upset because I was trying to enjoy my sweets lol! Thanks to her making me feel guilty and eyeballing me the whole week I lost 3lbs! I worked out too but I think it was her constant nagging that really did it! She was like don't you think you would lose more if you didn't eat this or that? She doesn't understand the band at all and I think she believes I shouldn't eat at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I mean not once did I eat did she not make a comment or roll her eyes. Grrrrr! I wish my mom was still alive!

Holidays and gaining
I managed to lose 3lbs over my Christmas vacation while eating very tiny pieces of cake, cookies, and chocolate. I kept all of my portions very small so I wouldn't gain but I felt very satisfied because I wasn't denying myself. I also worked out harder than what I would if I wasn't eating sweets. I was out of town but I went on my sister's guest pass. So, I guess the only advice I would have if you are gonna do it work it off! Oh, and just eat a little bit and move on.

The Scale moved today.....
I know you are too happy! That's awesome! I managed to lose 3 pounds over my Christmas vacation this past week also and I am just as happy! I made sure I hit the gym after I tasted that cake!

Getting sick alot. Anyone else have this problem?
No, you are not alone! I am sick for the 2nd time in less than a month! I rarely get colds! But, since my surgery in February I have been sick more than ever! I think it may have something to do with getting in less vitamins than I would if I was eating like I use to. I will admit I don't take my vitamins like I am supposed to.

Should slapping or spanking be considered child abuse?
Even though I don't agree with this kind of abuse from parents the law has to be specific with what you can consider abuse with children. Imagine how many children would be in foster care if you consider mental abuse as a reason to take the child from the home? States are already overflowed with foster kids that nobody want in their homes. People are quick to call DCFS and report things that may not even be detrimental to the child but that same person will say "I don't want those bad foster kids in my house". They come up with many excuses to why the can't be foster parents but they want to see DCFS in a certain familys life. I am not talking about the poster that started this thread because from what you posted these people are not right at all but hopefully DCFS will eventully make these people you are talking about at least take a parenting class or something! Bad things happen to kids in foster care! Some worst than what was going on in the home. There are cases out there were the children were removed from the mother because of her living environment not being clean and utilities off and a couple of other things but the kids were split up and put in different homes. One of the little boys was sexually abused at the shelter he was placed at by older boys and then he eventually became an abuser! What's crazy is that the state could have put in services for the family so the kids could have stayed at home. People should really think things out before they call DCFS because sometimes it's not a better solution but worse!

Should slapping or spanking be considered child abuse?
I am a past caseworker for Child Protective Services and according to the law it is not abuse to spank your child with your hand or a belt. It may be investigated if the child has marks from the belt if it lasts more than a day or two. It is considered child abuse to slap a child with an open hand on the face or head area depending on the age of the child.

last two days has been rough
Dont be sad because that 2lbs might just be wrong! I get up at 5AM every morning and weigh myself and by 10AM I am 2 to 3lbs lighter depending on if I have had breakfast and coffee yet and did you know what in the restroom too. So 2lbs is nothing really.

Those of you with a 10 cc band....
I am 6.8 ccs and have been there since September 16. Lost 15lbs in those 2 months but it has slowed down and I haven't lost any in a few weeks and I noticed I am eating a little more so I will be going in next week for just a little bit. But I was at my sweet spot for 2 months! I am hoping the next one lasts even longer!

Those of you with a 10 cc band....
Oh, I wish I could have had that much put in my band on my first fill! They were taking baby steps with me. It took 7 months after surgery to get to 6ccs!
