  1. LOL! I was envisioning them pulling ten feet of tubing out of my stomach(G) It didn't hurt. I think I am on a partial high from all the relief I feel now that it is over and an jolt of energy....probably all this protein(G) Nancy
  2. hi, I had surgery on a Tuesday and had my first one Thrusday night Friday morning. Being on liquids only its liquids liquids out. Nancy
  3. LOL! This reminds me of a commercial they have been showing lating about some digestive aide supplement anyway it has this lady going about her day with her best bud a stuffed pink stomach. Nancy
  4. Hi All, Ten days out and I just got home from my first post op visit. Lost 14 lbs brought down my BMI from 38 to high 35. Got that drain out and everything is looking and feeling good. Kinda freaked the nurse out when I showed her I could touch my toes without discomfort(G) Nancy
  5. Carrie, It certainly did not take me much researching to rule the band out I had never heard of the sleeve before I started looking into the band so glad I did. Nancy
  6. Just keep reminding yourself that each day is better. Nancy
  7. Hi, I think the second guessing and fear is not only normal but also a good thing this is a big decision and should not be made lightly. Nancy glad she got sleeved
  8. Have you been gargling with water salt water? It may help
  9. So glad to see here I have been so worried about you! I am so glad you are finally feeling better. Did they have trouble with your intubation that caused the problem with your uvula? It will get better now let the losing begin. Nancy
  10. Thanks for the reassurance I was leaning towards it being a scare tactic. Nancy
  11. Hi All, Lately one of the lapband commercials that plays frequently her in S. Ca implies that after Obamcare comes into full effect that WLS will no longer be covered is this true???? I know Kaiser has been ramping up on their surgeries to the point of months of back log is this because of that? I have a friend who went through the options program she has a year to make up her mind but if it is on its way out..... Nancy
  12. I am pretty much drinking through out the day I carry a 1 liter bottle filled with my favorite crystal light. I have always been a good drinker so I have been able to surpass 64oz. Nancy
  13. Alish, I get a sharp short bit of pain if I drink too much or too fast. Nancy
  14. Hi, I think originally this surgery started out as a two step procedure for those who were too high risk for a by-pass then it evolved to a stand alone. Yest you can stretch your sleeve I believe you can stretch you pouch with the band too. And you can re-gain with the by-pass all wls are just tools to help us but we still have to work it. Nancy
  15. How about appealing to his greedy side (as Dr Phil may say) tell him you'll eat less, have more energy and look sexier and when you get home won't be too stuffed if you know what I mean
  16. Alish, I agree with Mini-Me contact the surgeon's office from what I have heard from others (he wasn't my doctor) that he and his people are great getting back to their patients. I know my surgeion listede 100.5 as time to call him. Like MiniMe said it probably is nothing but it could be something. Nancy
  17. Hi, Only you can really answer that. I am 5'2" I'd be thrilled to lose 50lbs which would put me in the high 140s anymore then that would be nirvana if I got to 120 which I haven't been in a hundred years but to get there I'd need to lose 70. I am older 53 and have dieted my whole life my health issues are what really convinced me. Nancy
  18. If I had thought it out I probably would have known about the gown but it just felt weird to think some stranger dressed me while I was out. One needle mark was obviously an IV attmept on my right hand the other was an injection site on my right deltoid.Don't get me wrong I don't think anything untoward happened it just was jarring. Nancy
  19. Hi, I can not remember how many times during the first 5 days post op I asked the same question. I think it is normal. It will get better but if it doesn't talk to your surgeon. Are you getting enough fluids in protein in? Nancy
  20. Hi All, I was going to mention something to the nurse coordinator that I found a little unsettling and wondered if anyone else had the same experience. I am not a prude but then again I have never gotten a message because I really don't want anyone to see my fat. Now I know during surgery I am laid out like a Thanksgiving Turkey but I found it a bit unsettling to wake up in a totally different gown and two extra needle marks. Anyone else? Nancy
  21. I'm sorry you had to deal with such nonsense when ever I talk about the surgery even though I did it here in the US I always say that there are four doctors in Mexico that are highly regarded and respected and probably have more experience then most of the US doctors. Nancy
  22. Are you allowed sugar free puddings? Those really help with the head hunger. Also the Dryers sugar free popsicles help. The headache for me lasted about 4-5 days. Nancy
  23. Hi, I am right a head of you I was sleeved last Tuesdays. I get that pain when I drink too much or too fast but passes quickly. I think part of it is head hunger, part of it is that we still have the hunger hormones still in our bodies and part of it is that we are starting to feel good which means rather then thinking of how yucky we are feeling we are thinking what sounds good. You have to be sipping all day long just to get enough in because we are taking spoonfull swallows. Nancy
  24. Yippee! Dorothy is right there is no place like home! Now you need to move on to the "post op" section with the rest of us on the losers bench. Nancy
  25. Yay! So glad to "see" you. Sorry to hear you are having problems. Remember the mantra everyday gets better. I don't know how anyone goes out the first 5 day I am only feeling up to it on day 6. Nancy
