White after Labor Day...Oh My! My Mother would cringe..lol My Mom brings out her Winter White after Labor Day...Gotta Love it:) My first fill last week hurt a little too. I think our port area is still a little tender. Good Luck with your fill:)
  2. Sounds like you had a great time & really remarkable that you were still able to lose weight. Kudos to you!!!

Congrats on your weight loss! I had my first fill 3 days ago. My Dr.'s office says no solid food 4 hrs. before fill. We can have protein drinks up to 1 hr. before fill. They wanted my stomach fairly empty so they could see how fast the liquid I drank ran through it. When the saline goes in the band I couldn't feel any tightening around my stomach. Hope this helps & Good Luck.
  4. I was looking under new posts & saw a Clothes Exchange for Bandsters. It's under Re: Looking for September 2010 Bandsters, page 27. They are starting a new group to exchange clothes with other Bandsters. You might check it out & see how it works. Great job on the weight loss!
  5. Wow that sucks having to do it a second time. My first week after surgery I couldn't have done zumba, so you must be a fast healer. You'll be back up in no time & everybody loves time off from work
  6. I went for my first fill yesterday & I don't feel any different. My Dr. uses Fluoroscopy so they could see how much saline I needed. I drank & they were happy that liquid was finally slowing down. They put in 5cc & said that is a lot for first time fill. Well here's my question...How come I'm still starving? I have to stay on liquids for 48 hrs. in case of swelling. I always follow my Dr.'s advice because he's done a lot of these, but I think I'm not falling in the normal category. Has anyone had a fill this big & still been hungry?...I'm holding on to every bit of will power I possess but 4 weeks is a long time to be so hungry... On the lighter side I've lost 20 lbs.:scared2: Any advice would be welcome!

Wow! Your working this program really hard so this is probably just a plateau. The hair thinning has been happening to me & my Dr. put me on 1000 mg. of Vitamin B-12. It takes about a month I guess to see results. There's shampoo & other stuff but I'm trying this first. It's ok to vent...Your alway's giving such good advice & fellowship to other's, now it's our turn to help you. :-)
  8. Are these meds. something you have to have right now? If not don't force them, if yes check with pharmacist if you can crush them to swallow easier. Do you have liquid pain med. from your Dr.? If yes take it, if not call & get some. They should have also given you nausea strips to put behind your ear. If not get some of those also. Have you tried Gas-X strips for your gas (besides walking)? If not get the ones that dissolve on your tongue so your stomach can rest. Maybe try a couple of sips of warm chicken broth. Sometimes it's a vicious circle of needing something on your stomach, but not too much to make you throw up. This is what I did for the first 24 hrs. & it worked out ok. Hope this helps it does get better

Your not alone...I've been starving for 3 weeks & 2 days & I could bore you with the hours & minutes..lol My Dr. said it's because our stomachs didn't swell like most peoples do after banding. I'll tell you tomato soup in a mug has saved me between meals. I don't have any other tricks...but whatever you do don't watch commercials..too much food! Hang in there we can do this!

Feeling sore isn't odd at all. I was tender for about 2 weeks on my larger incision. I'm 3 weeks banded & all the tenderness is gone. Everybody is different but after only 4 days I'd say your doing great. Welcome aboard on this incredible journey were all taking together.
  12. Good Luck you'll do Great!
  13. Good Luck! Here's my new motto...The food looks better in the garbage than it does on me Catchy huh?

I love using the same shirt idea! That way there's no guessing...is it the color or shape that makes me look smaller... You can really see a difference keep up the Great work!
  15. I'm glad I'm not the only one hungry! My protein drinks leave me in about an hour & my stomach starts growling! Same thing with soup, etc. I don't think I have any restriction...of course I'm to scared to test it out, so I will just drink Vitamin water zero. Someone posted this was really good flavored water with zero calories & tasted like Tang. They were right & it has vitamins, etc. in it so it's a win win! P.S. Weighted today 15lbs. down:)
  16. It's day 4? Banded on July 28th, Everything went well. I'm healing up & starving on this liquid diet! I don't think I have any restriction at all. I'm looking forward to week 2 with at least cottage cheese, can you imagine being excited for that! Well this is what I signed up for & I have lost 13lbs. So it's time to suck it up & wait for fill....tic tic tic. Hope everybody is healing & happy
  17. I was banded Wed. July 28th. I'm home & doing well. Tummy's sore, throat's scratchy from breathing tube. I didn't get the gas pains so that was lucky. I don't think band is very tight because I can drink my whole 11oz. protein drink just fine. Wanted to check in & let people who are waiting to be banded know it's not that bad. I'm still laying low second day post-op but that's to be expected I think.
