Sick of being hungry!!!

I dont understand why I am soooooo hungry and others arent. My stomach churns constantly and it's very uncomfortable. I am very close to eating something I really shouldnt. This is crappy and I have to wait 3 more wks before my first fill. That is crazy!!!!! Surely there is something I can do to make this go away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your not alone...I've been starving for 3 weeks & 2 days & I could bore you with the hours & minutes..lol My Dr. said it's because our stomachs didn't swell like most peoples do after banding. I'll tell you tomato soup in a mug has saved me between meals. I don't have any other tricks...but whatever you do don't watch commercials..too much food! Hang in there we can do this!

I know for me these two ideas worked...

1. sugar free Popsicles--everytime I thought I needed something to snack on I would have a SF Popsicle. I am now addicted to them. I have at least 3 a day.

2. If I wasn't having a popsicles and wanted something warm I would have a chicken bullion. It will also make you crave more water (or make you thirsty) due to the sodium.

Like I said these work for me but not for everyone. The other thing to do is to do something else (take a walk, read a book, go online..anything to distract the "I am hungry" signal) for 15 minutes..see if it comes right back. If it does then you are really hungry, if not it is in your head. If you are really starving and have been for so long I would call your surgeon and see if you can get your fill pushed up. Take care.

Drinking water or vitamin water helped. I remember it was very loud and people in meetings heard it. I liked really really cold (slushy) frozen vitamin water -- seemed to make the noise lessen at least.

Every week that went by that happened less. It was almost as if I was training my tummy not to be so hungry. It works!

this is the bandster hell! the weeks/months after surgery but before your restriction sets in!!!

try...SF ice pops, home made icees (SF), protein.....

just remind yourself that the band is not working yet (until its adjusted properly) so dont be angry at yourself for being hungry...

I'm so glad you posted this blog cause I feel guilty as well for being hungry and I never feel full. My friend is still not hungry and we had ours done at the same time. I can easily eat more then I'm supposed to It's all will power at this point. My first fill is next Thursday and I hope it gives me some restriction. Good luck and stay strong.
