Im Starting To Freak Out Over My "bump" Image Included
I just read your comment on the photo about the quarter...that seems then that the port isn't sitting right....see your doctor!

How Long Does A "stuck" Last?
I posted on another topic as well, that one of the foods I am supposed to avoid according to my doctor is onions. I guess it's the texture (they can be stringy; also, asparagus). Haven't had issues with asparagus, but sometimes, with onions.

How Long Does A "stuck" Last?
I don't really see how you could be stuck if you can drink water.....generally when I am stuck it has to come up. Did you have to bring up the gyro or did it go down? You could be just irritated. Try the papaya enzyme pills to help with stuck food.

Too Little Weight Loss?
Everyone is different. I am 1.5 years out and only down 32. So, you make me envious! You are doing great; you have lost weight that won't ever come back! And if you're continuously losing, then why complain? It's working!

Vegetables And Fruit
Good advice about grating the vegetables....that would at least keep the pieces small! I'll have to try that.

Stuck On Getting Stuck
Glad it wasn't as bad as you thought! I think I was actually advised to not watch TV, read etc. while eating because as you say, it can distract you. But I do that all the time....maybe part of the problem too!

Band Vs. Sleeve - Really Upset...
Beautiful pictures, Sydney! I actually did some when I was younger (too old now!).

Burping
I do burp, usually with food. I think it's actually the stomach contracting working the food through. I also get the hiccups violently sometimes now, which I welcome because it's usually when I am/have been stuck and it actually helps with the contractions to work the food through. Yes, I know it's not so pleasant!! I actually burped a lot before the surgery, but that was more due to excess acid and I had an ulcer which they fixed in surgery.

Partial Stomach Removal Does Not Necessarily Equate To Long Term Weight Loss Success.
I figured that it would be simliar with any weight loss surgery, that yes YOU still have to do most of the work because there are always ways to get around things. And there are many people who have gained weight after the sleeve or bypass because they can stretch their stomach back out. So, as usual, it's up to us to make it happen! Use your tool!

Going On Vacation, Should I Get A Slight Un-Fill?
Elcee - thanks for that info. I'm expecting to get tighter in the air, then loosen up when I land. I plan to be careful about eating in the air because you're right, wouldn't want to get stuck there! Although, I could always claim air sickness! lol

Anyone Have A Good Roasted Chickpea Recipe?
Sounds yummy! I'm going to try it, thanks!

Going In For Consultation Friday
It's a good decision! I have no advice on the insurance thing; I had to self pay because in Ontario the band isn't covered. If you follow the rules and eat properly, you will lose weight. Some people do lose slower and want it to be faster, but as long as it's coming off, be happy! Good luck, I hope insurance is able to help you out!

Stuck On Getting Stuck
Hm. You probably don't need to hear from me then. But I will respond.....I get stuck a LOT. I was just stuck previous to coming on here about 10 minutes ago (thankfully it has passed, and you can definitely feel it has passed). I kind of consider myself a pro at it now (not something to be proud of I'm sure.....) I felt the same way; it was the major issue before having the surgery. It sounded horrible. And the first time I got stuck I felt like I was dying (mostly I think because I had never been before, and was so nervous). I couldn't get it up for a bit (I think it was toast and tomato) and I was in such pain. Above, I do NOT take any Water if I'm stuck, because it's just piling on top of a stuck pile. I do find the papaya enzyme pills help (in the Vitamin section); they are chewables and taste sweet. They helped me a lot when I was first banded, and I do carry some everywhere with me now. HOWEVER - don't let it scare you too much. As you said, yes it is because I often still eat too fast/too big bites after 1.5 years. And now it is nothing, just lean over the sink and cough. The pros of the surgery outweigh this con, I think!

LAUGHING COW RECIPES
I think I actually think about food more. I dunno, maybe years of dealing with food and issues regarding it. I would love to be in a place where I didn't really care about it, but don't know if that would happen without therapy!

LAUGHING COW RECIPES
You said it! These are some good recipes. I just found the LC French Onion....very mild. I like the herb and garlic on some crispy baguette crackers.

Help...how Do I Know If My Band Has Slipped??????
If it was as bad as you say that night, you probably really irritated your band and even thick liquids could cause issues. But as mentioned, if still having issues after the weekend, see your doctor

Anyone Else - Tight The Next Day After A Few Drinks?
Yes, yes, I'm not supposed to drink regularly, this I know! My question is, after a couple/four glasses of wine, I notice the next day that my band is tighter than usual. It does gradually ease up as the day goes on. Dehydration probably? Anyone else experience this? Also, I just realized today as I woke from a nap, that when I woke up I was as tight as I usually am in the mornings. Anyone else?

Vegetables And Fruit
Yes it was in the information I received after. Also it said about the asparagus. My only guess is the texture. Asparagus and onions can be stringy....not sure about avocado except maybe it gets stuck easier? Thinking on this, they recommend dogs don't eat these things either...lol

Going On Vacation, Should I Get A Slight Un-Fill?
I also have to only have liquids before noon. And I'm also flying next month and am fairly tight after my last fill. I've been wondering the same thing....

Just Had Surgery 2/17/12
Good for you!!! Take it easy the next while and let your body heal. Don't worry too much about losing weight; that will come after you've healed. Welcome to the "cool kids club!"

Fish Oil Capsules
I stopped taking all large pills that size. Especially after my last fill, I know I would get stuck. I can really only take something the size of a vitamin D pill (really small ones). I got stuck the other day on regular Motrins. I feel like I need to start taking calcium, so I'm going to get the chewables.
