What Is Your Goal? And What Would You Do To Get There.
I think I had/have two main goals, the first one being was to get thinner and maybe getting to a normal bmi. The second was being I did this for my mental health, I was severely depressed being how I was. So it was to get out of my severe depression, which I've achieved. I may still be fat but wearing clothes I'm actually pretty happy with the way I look. Of course I will strive for better since I'm still in the obese catogory. I think overweight is under a 30 bmi. Not happy with myself naked but I doubt I'll ever be.

How Long After Surgery...
My post op appointment was 9 days post op. I was told to make it between 7-10 days. All that happened was I was weighed and asked how I was doing. They did not even look at my incisions which I found very odd. I mean they could have been infected for all they knew. I guess they figured I would say something if there was a problem.

Night Sweats?
I used to be fine at night, slept under a blanket fine. For a while now even with its being winter (though a warm one), I sleep with the window open and in a t shirt and pants and under my comforter, I wake up in the middle of the night sweating, and I have to put a fan on. It's weird because during the day I'm chilly.

To Exercise Or Not To Exercise?
You talking pre op? I had a week pre op liquid diet and I did not work out that whole week. At the calorie intake I was taking in I didn't think I would be able to make it through. I restarted at the gym like 2 weeks post op, when I was on mushies. Still my caloric intake was pretty low, but I was ok.

A Week Late For My Period Post Surgery And Not Pregnant...suggestions?
I wish I had been late, I got it right on time 3 days post op:(. Though luckily the pain meds stopped the bad cramps I usually get on day one in their tracks. Only reason I took the meds that day.

Working Out After 12-Hour Shifts
I don't work 12 hour overnight shifts, but my shifts are 10 hours. I usually can only have the energy to workout in the morning. After work I am to tired. Luckily my shifts are now all swing shifts. So 2 pm- 12 am. I go to kickboxing at 10 am, or to the gym at 10 am. When I used to work morning shifts I was always so tired after work to do anything. Up til a few weeks ago, I was still working one morning shift and I used that day as my off day, since like I said I'm to tired after work to work out. So maybe try before work? Obviously leave enough time to go home and shower and such. Not sure if that's feasible for you.

Diet Slip Up
First thing you have to do is change your mindset. For me and many others this is not a diet. A diet it something you do temporarily. This must be a lifestyle change. Second you ate to much (I won't say you ate bad things because my opinion is to make it a lifestyle there are no foods I will not eat I just moderate it and fit it into my caloric goal). Move past, today is a new day. Also don't say well I screwed up mine as well finish out the rest of the day bad, eat right at the next meal and one day going over your calories IS NOT going to undo your hard work.

Is The Liquid Diet Is A High Protien Low Carb Diet?!
Personally I think you should postpone your surgery until you're done breast feeding. In the weeks post op you are going to be consuming very little calories. The first week post op I only had like 300 calories per day. Which is barely enough to sustain life let alone feed a baby. Have you discussed this with your doctor? I would be surprised they would recommend the surgery while you are breast feeding.

Gastric Banding And Dental Braces
I've not had braces, but I totally understand your problem. My teeth do not meet in the back at all when I bite normally. I have to chew with my lower jaw forward and my teeth still don't completely meet on the right side, which complicates chewing. I did not think of this problem pre band. I have only had a tiny fill and haven't wanted another, but I've come to realize since its difficult for me to chew well in the first place I don't think it is a good idea to even try for restriction (like I said not that I want it). I haven't been back to my doc in 6 months (was supposed to go back monthly ) but idk. So I never discussed it with him. So like I said I get the unable to chew thing.

Emergency Room For Fecal Impaction 1 Month After Surgery
I have had constipation issues for many years, going once, twice per week if I was lucky, and I drink PLENTY of water, over 100 oz per day. Months before my surgery I mentioned it to my doctor and she recommended miralax, I've been taking it mostly everyday for like 1.5 years and haven't had a problem. I really wish I knew why I can't go normally, it's annoying to take everyday, but luckily dissolves tasteless, so I can easily drink it.

Abdominal Exercises
I've been doing ab exercises since about 3 months post op. Sometimes I feel the port pulling a little bit, a little uncomfortable but nothing major.

Throwing Up... What Is Normal?
This. Call your doc! You don't want to end up in the ER because you're dehydrated.

Really Truly When Might I Expect To Be Back To Work
From what you described, I'd say you'd probably be able to go back Monday. I took a week off, I have a physical job and by day 4 I was bored and kind of ready to go back. I only took the pain meds for 3 days and only once on day 3. I'm 13 months post op and the bottle is still in my cabinet like 3/4 full (probably should chuck it soon) lol. I went back on day 7 and to get to work I dug my car out from under a foot of snow I was so bored at home. (I would not recommend doing that, I never told my doc, I'm sure that's not recommended 7 days post op lol.

Eating Solids Three Weeks After Surgery
I'm sure I could have eaten solids at like 4 days post op, I felt fine besides soreness at that point, but I knew I needed to heal so I followed my docs orders ( for the most part, I admit to having some chips 11 days post op on new years but I went right back to the post op diet). Though I was a lucky one, I didn't go through bandster hell. I wasn't hungry between meals til about 4-5 months post op. So I know you can eat solids, but I recommend following your docs orders and healing and go back to eating mushies (or whatever you're supposed to be on)

What Is Your Workout Routine???
I go to kickboxing 5 days a week. I do stregth training to failure one day (may increase it to 2) days a week. Even though I was go to kickboxing 5 days one day I would go twice and 2 days I would take like 1.5 classes. I'm going to try to cut those out because I actually believe it is hindering my weight loss (I believe I'm not eating enough for it to help with my weight loss. I'm crossing my fingers that that starts the scale moving again. I also go to the gym once a week and do the elliptical. So I workout 6 days a week.

Took The Plunge...
Good for you! As much as I may complain when I'm sore after a good workout. I like the feeling in a way, because I know it means I pushed hard and made progress. Sometimes after my strength training sessions, I'm not sore the next day and I look back and wonder what I did wrong? But a instructor at my kickboxing place says it means I'm just well hydrated and my muscles are recovering faster.
-
Weight Loss Or Inches
I hear that. I'm losing inches, but the scale is barely moving. I get upset about it, but I know inches still mean fat loss. So I guess it's ok, but it's still frustrating.
-
Frustration
Exactly! Muscle is just smaller in size than fat, making you look smaller. If you lose a pound of fat, but gain a pound of muscle you will still weigh the same, but you will look smaller. I wish people would stop saying that muscle weighs more than fat, because it is so untrue.

Is Anyone Else This Cold?!?!? Poor Body Temperature Regulation
I feel cold a lot now. Except when I'm sleeping, I've been waking up in the middle of the night sweating and have to turn on the fan, even with my window open when it is like freezing out. Not sure why this is. But I figure I'm cold during the day/evening due to the fact of losing a lot of "insulation". I keep saying this is the only downfall of me losing weight...LOL

Boobs After Wls
I went from a 46DD (at my highest weight to now, a 36D, I think soon I may need a 34D. I used to want a breast reduction when I was a DD, now since I've gone to a D, I'm ok with the size. Though ever since I can remember my boobs have been totally saggy. I don't remember them ever being normal (I'm sure they were, but I can't remember), so I will definitely want a lift when I hit goal (gotta start saving). Also there is so much skin there, I'm not sure if they will look good without implants. I don't like big boobs though, so I would not get them bigger, possibly smaller even if I do have to get implants.

Post Op 2 Days...bulging Port Site??
I'd call your doc. Doesn't sound like a crazy emergency, but it could be anything from just swelling, a hematoma (blood clot) or seroma. Or your port came loose. So check with your doc when theory reopen.

How Long Before Returning To Work
If you're feeling good already I would go back. I took one week off and I had a quick recovery, just sore by day 3. Surgery Monday, back to work the following Monday and I have a physical job, bending, lifting, on my feet 10 hours. I'm an LVT and felt I could've gone bak sooner. I know what you mean by going crazy at home. By day 4 I was bored out off my mind. My mom stayed with me a few hours after she brought me home and came for a few hours the next day, but other than that it was just me and my dogs. Luckily 5 days post op was Christmas, so I went to my parents house (only drinking my Protein drinks of course), but at least I had some stimulation...LOL

Can You Get Approved For Lap Band Surgery If You Have No Health Problems?
As long as you're insurance has no extra requirements, you should be fine to get approved. I was approved a day after submittance and I had no health problems. I was perfectly healthy, just fat unfortunately.
-
Imaginary Lap Band :-)
Definitely try multiple different shakes to find out which one you like. I see to many people on here who did not try the shakes before hand and then saying they are getting nauseous from them. I think you have a good idea, it will give you a head start on the weight loss too!

Christmas Goody Intervention
I've been eating like crap for the past 4 days. I missed my workouts the last 2 days, Sunday the gym was closed and could not go due to my work schedule yesterday. But I made it to my kickboxing class today and I plan to go again tonight. I'm back on track today. Someone said why don't I just wait til after new years and I was like I could do way to much damage in that amount of time. I may be bad again on new years but I'm going to stay on track til then. The scale was up today (less than 2 lb) hopefully some of that is just retention from what I've been eating and I don't think I ate 7000 calories over maintenance so hopefully some of it goes away after being back on track the next number of days
