Abdominal Exercises

Recommended Posts

Hi, my name is Lisa. I was banded a year ago, 1/13/11. I have lost 75 pounds and I am very pleased with the results. I am exercising more than ever. My question is, does anyone have any trouble with abdominal exercises? I feel like I can feel the band and it hurts - not horribly so, just uncomfortable. It's more of a fear of doing damage. I was just wondering if anyone experienced this and what you did. Thanks so much.

I have trouble with abs too, i feel like i can feel the band pulling or something, my surgeon said to stop if i felt this so i got a total abs core pro exerciser and found i can do them now as this supports your back and therefore less strain on your stomach. I know its not the best exercise for abs but its better than nothing and no pain, am hoping after 6 months i can get back to normal ab exercises.

My doctor said I can walk, ride stationary bike, eliptical but no weight lifting or crunches. I was banded 12/12/11

That is a good question and something I will ask my doctor on my next visit.

I've been doing ab exercises since about 3 months post op. Sometimes I feel the port pulling a little bit, a little uncomfortable but nothing major.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
