  1. I have been keeping on track very well the past month. I lost 12.8 LBS for the month of January, WooHoo! I have been working out one hour a day for 5-6 days a week. i have so much more energy, i love it!

I will be coming up on my three year bandiversary, so I will be seeing my Doc. in a couple of weeks, i am hoping to get a fill, it's been over a year, I am 28 LBS. from goal. I am so ready to be there.

People ask me"would you do it all again" and i quickly respond with, " yes! without the band I would be at my starting weight plus more. i love it!" it does work, you have to know how to use the band it's only a tool and exercising is another very important piece to burning the fat and keeping it off.

I am not to goal yet but I am so loving life so much more, it is all so worth it. Thanks to my friends on here without your support it would be so much harder.

  2. I said I would post today my last weigh in... well.. it did not go as I had hoped, but I am ok with staying the same, I guess it's better than gaining.

I was going through my weekly weights since being banded, and this is what i came up with......

    Feb. 2007~~~ banded~~~~ 233 LBS.

    Feb. 2008~~~1 yr. ann.~~~ down 66 LBS.

    Feb. 2009~~~2 yr. ann.~~~down 59 LBS.

    Feb. 2010~~~3 yr ann~~~ down 58 LBS.

From 1 yr. ann, to 2 yr. ann. i had gained a total of 7 LBS. I guess that is'nt bad.

I am hoping for my third year ann. to be close to 59 LBS. gone . Well i was close 58 LBS. down! :) I am so Happy!!

  3. Well tomorrow is my last weigh in for the month. Monday's are my weigh in days, I started doing that after I would weigh myself daily and if I did not lose I would be so discouraged and of course start eating. From experience, do not weigh yourself daily it will set you up for failure. Hopefully tomorrow i will be out of the 180's! Will let you know.

It's been a good weekend, not even one cheat. Till next time, Keep motivated and stay strong for this long ride :) It will be worth it in the end.

  4. Today has been a great day.:) I am moving in the right direction, finally!

I have lost 7.5 LBS since Jan. 3rd. 2010. Can not wait to get back to where I was a year ago, I felt so much better at that weight. I will get there, with determination and lots of will power and help from all you great people here at Lapbandtalk.com. Wishing you all continued success in your weight loss journey.

  5. I joind the site WWW.fitday.com So i could log all my food so i could find how just how much i am getting in, well after logging my foods for breakfast and lunch, protein did not add up to much and the calories for the two meals was only 455 calories. Thats probably why i have not lost much weight, i don't think i am eating enough. can anybody tell me, if that plays a big part in stalling, if your not eating enough calories?? I will continue to work on the calories and the protein and just see if it makes a difference, i will blog my results.

  6. I've lost 5 LBS. this week, I'm so happy. I feel in control now. I hope it continues. I have been walking everyday and some days have been going for two walks. The evening are the worst for me as far as wanting to eat. I have been eating my protein first then if I still have room i will eat my veggie, then fruit. Most often i do not have room for the fruit so then i will have that for a snack, so far so good. As long as i am losing i will continue. it's amazing how much better you feel by not stuffing yourself and eating the right foods. I have not cheated once this week so that is good. I will stroll into the next week and see what it brings, hopefully continued weight loss success. With a little help from my band, i will be at goal by labor day.

  7. good morning ,

just wanted to comment on your blog here from some experience i have had. i have been banded since 2/13/07 and you are definately right about being successful if you do not test the waters. I have been successful with the band, yes I should be at goal probably but i'm not. I feel if i did not get the band I definately would have gained back my 52 LBS. that i did lose, and more. Having more invasive surgery? well I have two siblings who have both had the gastric bypass and sure they have lost there weight with one year BUT they dont look healthy, they look sickly, there personality had chanbbed, one of them got devorced, addicted to alcohol, shopping, and strayed away from the family. So I'm not so sure all those negative outcomes would be worth losing weight to me. But you can only decide that this is only my personal experience. Would I do it all over again? yes I would. I am here to help so if you have any other questions don't hesitate to ask me. Good Luck in your decision making, I know that if you do get the lapband you will not regret the outcome. Just remember it's only a tool and if you follow the rules you will be a success!

  8. wow i can relate to this..... i was just asking myself how long should i beat myself up for gaining 20 LBS. back and having the "I don't care attitude" boy we can talk our selves into to alot of things. I hope you find the strength to move on as I did, and know that when we fail it will only make us stronger. so all we can do is take one day at a trime. wishing you success.

  9. I feel wonderfull!! I am so glad I had the lapband surgery, It's working so well I still can't believe it. It's been almost four months and I am down 40 LBS. I have went from a size 20-22 jeans and tops 18-20 to a jean size 16 regular and a top size L-XL. I feel so much better. The best part is that I went off my blood presure medication, my BP is lower that it has been in a long time, and my back feels much better.

I had my second fill on May 29th, I have 1.4 CC's in. I'm getting used to eating slower , that has probly been the hardest thing for me. I eat pretty much anything I want , just very small portions. I do stay away from fatty foods and sodium and try to eat all food groups, but if I'm hungry for something I know I'm not suppose to be eating I just have a taste and that keeps me satisfied. I am very thrilled to have come this far on my weight loss journey, I'm almost half way. Keep up the great work everyone, and we will soon all be in skinny land. Have a great day!!

  10. hi Carol just had to comment on your journal entry. One thing that you have to keep in mind is to be possitive, I know it's hard especially when we have been over weight and nothing has worked, sure we are going to be negative and have very little hope, I don't know how long you have been banded or how much you have lost but remember that it did'nt come over night and it is'nt going to leave that fast either. we have to be patient, this way of losing weight is slow which is a good thing. take one day at a time and keep the good attitude.... I'm going to do this!! Wishing you the best of luck in your weight loss journey.

  11. Went to the doctor today the doctor that will do the lapband. He remeasured me and weighed me I now have a BMI of 41.6. I should qualify for sure now. He will send all paper work to my insurance company, now I wait some more , can't wait to find out If I can get it done. Keep my fingers crossed. My back has totally been out the past couple of days, I hope losing the weight helps, at this point it can't hurt! I'm getting real excited about the whole idea of it now, I just don't know what I will do if the insurance declines it, I will be devistated. I guess I can only wait and see waht happens. wish me luck

  12. HI,

I wish you luck on your weight loss journey. I to am going through the process after realizing I can't do it on my own. I think It's great that we can face that we do have a weight issue and we have to deal with it. that's the first and biggest step and we are on our way to a thinner more happy life. Good Luck!!

  13. Hi, I am also going through the insurance paper work process, It seems like it is going to take forever! But we just have to hang in there and be patient. The way I look at it is we don't want to hurry them with the letters we want them to get everything down so they don't miss anything inportant that will hinder our getting the surgery done, so be patient, I guess. It's worth the wait! We will soon be on to skinny land!:D good luck
