Pain in left side
The pain is from the port site which is usually left of the umbilicus{belly button}. I couldn't sleep on left side for appox. a week. Is the incision healing ... if you place your hand just below the incision you may be able to feel the port ... completely normal.

My Left shoulder Hurts
The pain is from the co2 gas during your surgery. It escapes the body by passing gas{farting} orpassing from under the diapragm, which irritates the phrenic nerve which causes the left shoulder pain. The best way to relieve is to walking. It should be better in a couple o days.

Need encoragement.... Or reality check?!
Have you had your psych eval yet? If after 3-4 yrs researching the lapband & still have lingering doubt... I think you might be trading your obsessions. IMO it appears that a large percentage of lapbanders have an obsession with the scale& they weigh daily, sometimes several times a day! Personally I think that is a setup for frustation & possibly failure. You have a low bmi,not a huge amt of wt. to lose, get the surgery done, stay off the scale until MD visits. If you want to be obsessed with something, make it following your MD's instructions.

Am I crazy to do this???
[:thumbdown:QUOTE=123crod;1548454]Do not let him scare you he is moving all over the threads spilling his words of hate. He is not even banded. Cheri Cheri, I think it is a "little odd" that the person is using the name "Axel" to spread his negativity, because Alex is the founder of LBT. This person has some hidden agenda in my opinion. I'm also suspect when people post& don't include info in their profile.

Brand spankin' new to all of this
I don't think that your insurance will pay with your bmi & no co-morbidities. Do something for yourself... self pay & get it done. The price for self pay is more affordable these days!

Fills In The Tampa Bay Area

weight loss of self pay vs insured banders
I had my surgery April 22 & I've lost 71 lbs so far. When I say I'm going to do something; I'm going to do it! I think that was the motivation... not the actual $10000 spent!
