Hi all I am about a week pot-op and I have had an almost constant stitch on my left side. Other than that I am healing great. A little nausea here and there but nothing major. I was wondering if anyone else had ever had this issue after surgery and what it might possibly be. It is starting to affect my everyday activities. I have a follow up with my surgeon on thursday. thanks

The pain is from the port site which is usually left of the umbilicus{belly button}. I couldn't sleep on left side for appox. a week. Is the incision healing ... if you place your hand just below the incision you may be able to feel the port ... completely normal.

My port is to the right of my belly button. DocsWife, is the stick in your side at an incision site or does it feel like it's coming from the inside?

I had a pain like a stitch in my left side for about 4 weeks post op, it was worse if i walked straight after eating or if i got constipated. I think it was just the band settling in and the stitches they used to anchor it healing. I still get the pain occasionally if i lie the wrong way or eat too much. If in doubt, talk to your clinic.
