Any have a hole in your diaphragm?
My surgeon uses that cow membrane thing on all his sleeve patients to prevent leaks. I was pretty grossed out. Haha

Buyers remorse anyone?
I'm 7 weeks out now, and feel completely normal...other than the fact that I don't eat nearly as much as I used to. I can tolerate all foods now that I want to eat. Sometimes I eat something yummy and wish I could have more, but that's what got me fat to begin with.

Two Years Four Months

BMI of 40....
40 is fairly high BMI; it's usually the minimum BMI for American docs to be willing to do the surgery. It's not super high, but it's higher than most Mexican docs require.

Hot dog eating
They were showing the Nathan's hot dog eating contest on SportsCenter this morning. They showed this graphic of a regular stomach that holds one liter and showed how the competitive eaters can stretch theirs out to 4 times that. Then I thought about my tiny little tummy, and how glad I am that I can't eat 69 hot dogs

Gabapentin
My worst side effect was the "word loss." Basically it made it so when I talked, i couldn't find the words to say. They'd be on the tip of my tongue but I couldn't remember the word. Or sometimes I'd just randomly stop talking in the middle of a sentence. Or, I'd be talking and the completely wrong words would come out even though I didn't mean to say them. It got to the point where I felt like I was coming across as stupid to people for my inability to communicate.

Why did I do this again?

At what point did you feel most like you post op?
I think it took a month before I didn't have a constant reminder of some sort that I had been sleeved. Now I don't think about it unless I'm eating.

can someone explain
At first when I got "full" it was painful and I'd sometimes throw up, so it was important to stop before I got there. Now my full is more like a normal full feeling, but slightly less comfortable. I try to stop when I'm satisfied and not get all the way to full.
