  1. I just stuck to soups and protein shakes during that time, since I'm vegetarian, too. I found it easier than trying to concoct something
  2. I'm Hathery on MFP, in case anyone wants to find me.
  3. I just ordered 4 more boxes of Protein Chips. I'm in trouble. haha
  4. I think many of us fail to realize just how much pleasure we actually took from eating until we can't stuff ourselves anymore. I know it was a pretty big shock to me after my surgery.
  5. It depends on the food. If it's a soft food I can eat a little under 1/2 cup. If it's a dense food, 1/4 cup is pushing it.
  6. Honestly, statistics show that WLS is generally successful in helping people lose about 1/2 their excess weight. Since you are stuck at about that point, I second talking with a nutritionist. They may be able to suggest a different calorie regime for you or help you phase out some foods that might be hindering losses. Sometimes it just takes a second set of eyes to figure out what's going on
  7. Highly unlikely, but do the incisions bother him?
  8. I'm at 2 months out, and very happy with my decision. It was rough at first, but it gets better.
  9. I notice the statistics are for 30 days out and 1 year out. That makes sense; band slips and erosions don't generally happen right away. It's convenient how they leave out any statistics past 1 year.
  10. I sent requests to you both
  11. Did you reply "Not as bad as your face?"
  12. I got the barbecue protein chips. They are very yummy!!
  13. Holds up to 1000 pounds; should hold just enough for me then. Haha
  14. I've eaten one medium piece of pizza. I didn't die. It was a special lunch with a friend, and it's the only piece of pizza I've eaten since being sleeved. I'm in no rush to do it again. I think you just have to know yourself well enough to know whether its going to set you into a spiral of bad eating or not.
  15. Are you tracking on MyFitnessPal? If not, you might consider it.
  16. Mine started at 42F...right now they're still round. I'm going to be very sad if they deflate. Last time I lost 100 lbs they just went down to 40D.
  17. What on earth is an egg cream?
  18. I didn't start gaining weight until I moved out on my own at 18. From there, I packed it on like eating was going out of style. I don't know why; I think I'm just a glutton. But I'm on my way to losing it and keeping it off. "What doesn't kill us makes us stronger" and all that jazz...maybe it took becoming obese to put into perspective the fact that I wasn't obese as a teenager. I thought I was; I fretted about it, dieted, and never was good enough for myself. Now I look back and wish I could slap some sense into teenage me.
  19. I try my best not to reply to those posts, lest they become an all out flame-war.
  20. Hide the scale and don't look at it for a while. It's obviously getting into your head, and that's no good!!
  21. I agree--Cheri's posts are some of my absolute favorites.
  22. I have little glass pinch cups from Pampered Chef. They are perfect
  23. You started out as a lightweight--the weight probably isn't going to come off as quickly as it would for say, someone like me with a high starting BMI. I think you're doing great. Just stick with your guidelines, and you'll be just fine
