  1. My Boobs are always the first to go!! 20 years ago I had lost 103 lbs, and I was flat as a pancake!! This time I was down 25 lbs and almost a cup size. My insurrance coveres breast reduction,if medicaly neccesary. I was approved so the Dr through in a lift with some lipo. I decided to go for it since I was going to loose them anyways. I am hoping at least this way they won't be flabby. I had surgery thurs. I think I am like a B cup and I weigh 225. I look crazy, but it does keep me on my diet!lol

  3. Wow!! I am soooo happy and proud for you, congrats
  4. Thank you so much!! That helps a lot. I was not preparred for wieght gain. Is it normal to feel kind of emotional about little things bugging me?Maybe it is just the pain making me act silly. Since Jan. I have been going through all the test for lap band, then Feb 22 had gall blatter removed, April 29, lap band put on. I was supposed to have BL/BR before all the other stuff. Then before I knew it my authorization was about to expire. OK, So whats done is done. I will try to focus on the positive. Thanks again. Teri
  5. Maybe it's a girl thing, but we need to feel preparred lol. I know it took me awhile before I felt like shopping. The pillow for the ride home, PERFECT advice!:cursing:

  8. Hi I am 1 mo. post op. I did several 5 min walks a day. Then moved up to 10 min. and so on. My Doctor said this was perfect. He just wanted me moving. It is important to get your protien in. It helps the body heal faster. I cant use milk, taste gross! I use all kinds of diffrent flavors of of crystal light. I now add frozen fruit to mine as well. This has helped so much. Good luck to all of us:thumbup:
  9. I was banded on April 29, and had a great experience. Very Happy. 2 days ago I got a breast reduction/ lift. Paid for by insurrance. I was supposed to be a c cup, but I am a B cup. Too small It is very painful. He did some lipo on the side and that is really bruised and hurts like heck. I have a flat chest and a very big stomach. I guess the swelling is making me look very diformed (sp?) Is any of this normal? Does it get better? I was so happy up until 2 days ago. I was 25 pounds down but now I am up 6 pounds and I am only on liquids. I can not figure out why I am gaining wieght. Thank you so much for any help or advice. Teri:confused:
  10. I am with you on the stress eating. The way I am dealing with it is to come here often. I think LBT has become my new addiction! Sometimes I post, or blog about how I am feeling, and other times I just read about other peoples experience. I am so thankful for people willing to share their stories. I feel like I am making new friends, but mostly it really helps to know people who really know how I am feeling! Good Luck!
  11. 3 hrs walking for wkend and 20 min today
  12. I had gall blatter removed 2/22/10 then on 4/29 I had Lap Band now thurs. I am having Breast Lift/ reduction. With Lap Band I was so prepared. I new what to expect before durring and after. Mainly b/c of this forum. I am mostly dreading my Breast surgery and I am very nervous. Can anybody share thier experience with me. Good, bad or the ugly. The Dr. has told me the medical side of it. But I really like hearring from people who have been through it. Thank you so much. Teri
  13. Hi, I have BS/BC PPO.I went to a doctor in Beverly Hills. They are out on network. However they accepted what my insurance paid, so I had no expences for anything.luck. If you have any ?? feel free to contact me. Good luck:thumbup:
  14. I am 3 wks post-op. I am going to start water exercise tonight, can I go in Spa yet I think is 104 degree. My dr has 3 surgeries so he can't get back to me tomrrow
  15. I have never tried eggplant, but love lasagna! I am going to try this tomrrow for dinner. BTW you are such an inspiration on the May challenge. You must have the cleanest house. lol I was only doing enough housework to make it LOOK nice if anyone came over. After all I just had surgery, and needed to concentrate on my weightloss. (this is my excuse) After reading your post I relized I really need to do both. My husband thanks you!
  16. Hi, I just subscribed to your blog. I love it. Thanks for being willing to open up, it really helps newbies like me. Well you are 4 months ahead of me, It is nice to know what to expect in the future. I am definitly staying away from rice! Good luck on your journey. I look forward to joining you through your blog.
  17. Walked 30 min. I have only lost 22 pounds, and I already feel so much better, and have so much energy! I am thankful for this challenge. I am the type of person to exercise really good, for a month then give up. I find the accountability here is really helping. Can't wait for next month. I just got the ok for water class. Thanks for the support and motivation.
  18. I have given birth to 5 children and have weighed as much as 250#. I have very long breast and they are a full DD. I get the worst rash under my breast. My insurance will cover a reduction. My dr. said he will do a lift and a little lippo on the side of breast, because of extra skin. I am very fortunate to have this all at no cost to me. But after pre-op appt. I am scarred to death! I had gall blatter removed 2/28 lap band 4/29 and all the test leading up to the Lap Band. I am kinda sick of surgery. I had a hard time after gall blatter, but Lap Band has been great. I can not delay breast surgery because my insurrance will only cover as long as 1000 cc are removed. If I wait they will be to small. I would really appreciate any comments and would love to hear your experience. Recovery?? Pain?? Are you happy with your results??
  19. I can answer the getting stuck question. Just last night I took 3 bites of potato salad. I was not paying attention to chewing and all of a sudden I felt my chest tighten. The food was stuck! I swallowed some water to try and make it go down. Not a good idea. Now I feel like I have to burp. I tried 5 times to "burp" not by choice. The water I drank came up a little at a time with each "burp". Very uncomfortable. All this could have been avioded if I would have just taken my time and chewed my food. I have only been banded for 3 wks. so I am still new at all this, but I have learned a huge lesson. Good luck with your journey!
  20. 1 wk post op-It was my daughters last game. Some of us went out to dinner after. I was a little nervous. Afterall it was my first time off just liquids. Walking into the restraunt was kinda fun. It was my first time in a couple of months. I ordered mashed potato w/gravy. Everyones food came, it looked and smelled yummy. But I was so happy w/ my taters, that I really did not feel deprived. However I was felling full, but really had not eaten even half of my food. My mouth was still hungry, so I took 1 more bite. MISTAKE:scared2: I kept praying it wouldn't come back up! I was very uncomfortable for an hour. I am almost 3 wk. post op now and I am feeling pretty good. I eat about 750 calories a day. At first I was losing a pound a day. Then for a wk. I didn't lose anything, today I lost a pound. That's 8 pounds since surgery. I know the first month is for healing, so I am happy with the amount lost. Today I get to start my water exercise class. Very excited!
  21. Sorry I have not posted.I was out of town. last wk. Mon.- fri 30 min each day. total 115 min walking.
  22. This is my favorite exercise! I can't wait to get back to it. My Dr. says I have to wait 1 more wk. I felt the same way as you before I started. At my gym the older ladies were skinny and the ones my age were big. I was very comfortable. You have to remember the the young, pretty girls, with the hot boddies, are out on the floor working out with the guys. Go for it. It is so much fun, it doesn't seem like exercise. I can only do 20-30 min. on the treadmill, but I can last an hour in the water. You can adjust your workout, to fit you. I started out real slow, and easy. If you try it let us know how you like it:thumbup:
  23. Congratulations!! Now walk, walk and then walk some more.It really does help.

I just wanted to say Hi, and wish you luck. You and I were banded on the same day, and we will have our first fill the same day.
  25. I am 2 wks Post-op now . A friend just asked me what the hardest part of this has been. Without hesitation, I answered. For me it was the 2 wk. Pre-op diet! I was hungry and grouchy all the time. I just kept reminding myself why I was doing this. I also spent alot of time here. The encouragment from other people really helped. It also helped to read post from other people going through the exact samething. I made my protien shakes with diffrent flavors of crystal light. This helped me with the milky taste. Good Luck!
