Another fill question
I am 71/2 months out. I have a 14 band and I am filled to 10. I have restriction. After last fill, I have to really chew food well, and really follow the rules. I can eat more than 4 oz of food, more like a cup or a liitle more. I have 2 different Doctors who do my fills. One says get fill because I can eat more, the other says no. He doesn't care how much I eat as long as I stay full for 3 hrs. i have lost 35 pounds since surgery and 52 total. Do I get anther fill? It would be .5. Do you guys really only eat 4 oz at a time? BTW I am still dealing with the head hunger, is that normal this far out from surgery.

Hey guys, I am a late April B.B. I had my 4th fill last wed. Wow do I have restriction now! I have 9 cc in 14 band. I strarted at 250 and this morning I weighed 212. i love my band but hate the loose skin! I am losing weight wierd. The botttom of my stomach (below the belly button) is smaller than the top, causing serious muffin top when I sit down:mad2: I have not been able to exercise much due to a painful B.R. 2 months ago. I am still not healed from that. The band has been the best decision I have made in years!!!! Congrats to all of us and wishing much more success:thumbup:

What do I do when in bandster hell?
I was banded 4/29/10 and "Bandster Hell" seems very hard while you are going through it! I drank a lot of crystal light, ate sugar free jello and SF Pudding. I put frozen fruit in my protien drinks. Hang in there, I promise it does get better:thumbup:

I think I made a mistake!!
Well I am 9 wks. post op now, and I am in still in pain. My nipples are very sore and the inscision is still very painful. I cant do water execise because the bouncing hurts to much. My Dr. sounds like a used car salesman, so I cant trust anything he says. Am I supposed to still be in pain this far out. I just wish I knew if this is normal I could stop worrying. I should probably mention my surgeon is on probation for gross neglegence (sp?) This adds to my anxiety, and why I can't trust what he says

Christian bandsters
Hello, My name is Teri and I am so excited to find this group! I was banded 62 days ago. I have lost 32 pounds but I am starting to have problems. I can feel myself falling into old habits. Grazing, eating b/c I am bored or most of all to cover up hurt feelings. I am trying to give this to God but I am struggling. I am also back to focussing on food instead of God. If anyone would please pray for me I would appreciate it so much. No one at my Church understands why I got the Lap Band in the first place, so they have a hard time supporting me. Thank you so much, and may God Bless all of us on this journey!

who supports right to choose
When I first saw this post I thought it was rediculous. I was not going to read it, but somehow I couldn't stop. I thought I would never post anything so personal but when I read a post that said "I find it so difficult to believe that any woman could even fathom carrying the product of a brutal rape" I got so angry! It went on to say more hurtful things about my baby. Yes I was raped and got pregnant. How dare you judge my innocent baby. It is not his fault, nor will he pay for something someone else did. This person went on to say that the child would have to be told. What are you nuts. My son is 28 years old, I would never dream of telling him that story. I have never judged any woman for having an abortion, but after reading this post, I feel judged because I did not. I forgot poster name but it was on the first page. Everyone has the right to their opinion, but please try to express it without being so hurtful to others.

Should I buy a juicer or blender???
I have them all. Only thing I use in my mini food processor and I bought a cheap 12 or 14 oz blender type thing for my shakes. It comes with 2 lids. One to blend then you replace that with a lid you can dring from. Great when I am running late, I can have breakfast in the car. It works great, even chops Ice. I got it at Kmart.

How important are the rules really?
Spartan- I am so glad you made the comments about insurance paid surgeries. My insurance Company paid for my Lap Band. After reading your post, I now feel I do owe it to them and future paitients to follow the rules. I never thought of the things you brought up. Thanks to everyone who posted. Im newly banded and you guys gave me a lot to think about.

Having problems geetting Lapband through the Veterans Hospital.
I am sorry, I have no advice as I know nothing about this subject. However, I want to encourage you to keep fighting. You are a diabetic and overweight. You need the surgery!!! I mean it is not like you are asking the VA for a TT. This is medically neccasary for you to live a healthy life! I will be praying for you, that the doors open and the right people come into your life that can help you with this. Best wishes and keep in touch. Ter

BCBS insurance
I have BS/BC of California. I have been banded 6 wks. They covered it 100%. You have to have 40 bmi or a 35 with other issues such as sleep apneia, Diabetic, High blood preasure. They ask for 5 year histioy of dieting. You dont have to show proof of this, so use your best guess. They need documentation of a 6 month medically supervised diet. I t has to be in the past year, but doesn't have to be consecutive. I showed 1 mo. with a medical clinic and a few months later i did 3mos with a Doctor, they counted it as 4 mos and let me do 2 months with dietition at Lap band Surgeons. I did 6 mos in same year I was good to go with that at least. There are several test the surgeon will do. They will get all the paperwork done and send it to BC/BS and then they have 72 hours to give you an answer. I was approved first time. My consultation was jan and I had Lap Band in April. Good Luck

How important are the rules really?
I agree with what has been posted. I am an recovering Diet Coke addict, and I used to loved a few beers on the wkend. I have decided to give these up completly b/c my Dr. said so but thats me. I have heard you can drink soda as long as it is flat, no bubbles. And I have also heard about ordering a Vodka and water then adding the single on the go Crystal Light to that. No carbonation and only 30 calories! I don't know if all this is safe but it has to be better than what you are doing. I hope it helps and I wish you health and happiness:thumbup:

1st day post op
Congrats on your surgery. Good to hear you are doing well. I have had no real problems so far. 2nd day of post op I had pretty bad gas pains which is very common. Walking and gas x strips help a lot! I took 4 15 min walks a day. Good luck!

How often do or can you get fills?
I have the same ??. I got my first fill yesterday. The dr. said he usually waits 2 wks. but he is getting married so I get another fill wed. That is only a wk. It must be safe but is it smart? Would I be better off waiting 3wks.? Or does it really make a diffrence since I only have 3 cc and next wk he will put in another 3 cc then 2 wks later 2 cc. Then he said I should feel some restriction and we well find my sweet spot.
