  1. Christmas 2009. Flying home from Dallas. I fly a lot for work, and I've gotten used to getting to the airport early, getting exit row or upgraded seating. I was coming home from my mom's house and I was late getting to the airport and the last to board. I'm walking down the aisle toward my assigned seat (row 7 or 8 aisle) and the man next to the open seat said OUT LOUD "I hope that fat ass doesn't sit next to me". I had no choice there were no other seats. No one said anything. I cried for the 2 1/2 hour trip home. Got up on Monday and saw a Lap Band billboard on the way to work. I have tears in my eyes now as I write this.

  2. My surgeon's office has a new accounting manager and I'm starting to encounter the same types of things. I can't go to any more support group meetings without paying a fee of $25 a week to go. I can't go in again for a fill, unfill or even consult without paying $300 (until December). None of this was in my initial documentation. Not the kind of stress we need! Hang in there!

  3. LOL. But I agree with you -- it feels so good after you exercise! I always seem to have more energy and it makes the rest of the day go by with a little less drama.

I'm no where close to where you are in terms of weight loss. But I still love how it makes me feel.........

Good luck tomorrow at the doctor..........

  4. I used to get on the scale 5, 6, 7 times a day. I let that stupid little device rule how I felt, what I ate, whether I worked out.

I gave up on that. I put the scale back in the garage and don't even watch the scale on Wii fit when I turn it on anymore. I'll weigh every Friday night at the gym and let it go at that.

You are so right -- the fluctuations in loss are so big its hard not to let them impact you. But you have a great attitude and a great partner in your dh!. Congrats on all your success and good luck!!!

  5. You have been through a lot, and come out of it a great motivation and inspiration. I had severe chest pains about a year ago and ended up with EKGs and stress tests only to be told to lose weight and get my blood pressure and stress under control.

I can't believe your hospital picture. Thank God you found your OWN way to the hospital and got things right. Good luck with your surgery and keep in touch.

  6. You are so beautiful! I would have said a model, seriously!

I'm sorry about your setback! Was this stomach flu? I threw up a lot after my second fill and I always worried the band would slip but I guess I'm past that. Did your surgeon attach the band to the stomach with a stitch or two?

After reading your posts and responses I think you are doing fantastic! It looks like you have picked yourself up and moved on, which is AMAZING. The weight loss is a sign of the person and drive you have and that will take you VERY FAR in life. Best wishes to you!

  7. Congratulations on your success! You have always had great support and recipes for everyone on this site and I'm glad you have achieved such a tremendous weight loss in so short a time! A picture would be nice???

Best of luck to you as you move forward........... :-)

  8. Gas X has strips too. They dissolve on your tongue. Unfortunately I've found this to be a side effect for me with eating more fruits and veggies. I agree with BK, walking helps. Basically on your feet even if its standing at work seems to help. But I use the strips probably a couple times a week as well.

The other thing I noticed? Drinking water too fast? Maybe that isn't anything but sipping slower helps. And I gave up gum and (shock!) diet coke as well.

Good luck :-). Take care of yourself!

  9. I'm glad you are feeling better. I feel better just getting a lot of exercise and eating/drinking healthier. You are doing really well and your attitude is good. Sometimes that is more than half the battle :-).

  10. Have some haters in my life. Some actually I don't spend much time with some of them anymore. I just don't want to deal with it. Others (my mom in particular) I either ignore their comments or remind her over and over to stop with the negative. The other day I told her if she couldn't stop it I couldn't go visit at Thanksgiving. I just can't deal with it.

    Hugs!!!!
