caught in the crossroads.

I feel so discouraged today. I totally see i have no support about my surgery with my mother. I feel if its like I'm walking down this path by myself i hope by the time my surgery day comes she will support me and not try to discourage me like she is trying. I really wish she knew the pain and hurt i have had to experience so she can understand why i really want this.

I don't have any support from my mother either. I've developed a support group for me consisting of friends, this site and two co-workers. This works for me. You need to know that, even if your mother doesn't come around there will be other people to help.

Hi there, I'm new here. I just wanted to chime in and say that hopefully your mom will come around. If not, this is your decision and your life. I'm not planning on telling my own mom because I predict her to be judgmental and the attitude that I'm "taking the easy way out." I wish I could tell her and get the support that I need, but I don't think that's what I would get. I do fear her finding out after the fact, that she'll feel hurt, etc. So I'm glad you were able to tell your mom and that you're "free" and don't have to keep up with a lie. She might just need some time to process it all....
