  1. i dont measure my food, i eat until i am satisfied (aka - no longer hungry but not full) typical day: b - atkins shake (cant normally do solids in the AM) s - few almonds (5-10) l - tuna salad with an egg - about a scoop s - more almonds or an [ame=http://www.amazon.com/ISS-Research-Protein-Peanut-Butter/dp/B000OQA21C/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=hpc&qid=1206710288&sr=8-1]iSS Oh Yeah Bar[/ame] d - 2-5 oz meat (beef, chicken, fish), tablespoon of veggies (green Beans, corn) 1-2 bites of my DD's starch 80-100 ounces of Water a day.
  2. PB and sliming are 2 different things and should not be considered 'normal' bandster actions/behavior. a PB is when you havent followed the bandster rules (either intentionally or not) and food decides to make a return visit. it is not really like thowing up to where there is stomach acid involved, but its kinda like thowing up whatever you just ate (basically just well chewed food mixed with saliva). sometimes, they are rather violent and hurt. my first PB was because i didnt follow the bandster rules and was VERY thirsty, so right after i ate, i had a huge drink of tea. BIG mistake. it came back up VERY quickly and i barely had time to make it to the bathroom. slime happens when something gets stuck (maybe didnt chew well enough, its a tough piece of meat, chicken, etc...) you produce extra 'lubricant' to assist with the digestion process. sometimes there's just too much lubricant and it collects in your mouth. like i said, these do not happen all the time, they are the exception, not the rule. good luck.
  3. hi, congrats on your approval. welcome to LBT. we're glad you are here.
  4. hi Molly, welcome to LBT. i enjoyed reading your blog post. good luck on your band journey.
  5. hi, welcome to LBT. i agree with Susan, the band is a fabulous tool and has helped me change my life for the better.
  6. hi, welcome to LBT. this is a great resource. my suggestion is just read all you can in the pre-op sections then go to other sections after that. good luck!
  7. what stage does your doctor want you to be in? normally after a fill there are no restrictions on what types of food you should be eating, but check with YOUR surgeon
  8. congrats and good luck!
  9. congrats on getting a surgery date!
  10. posted new pics on my blog. compares pre-TT, 20 days and 27 days (last night)
  11. karey, i completely agree about the exercise. all i am doing is walking between 30 - 60 minutes 2 times a week. even after that i swell quite horridly. good luck on your fill today.
  12. no, he didnt push, but i am now really wishing i would have lost that 20 pounds that i wanted to lose before. i was having a really difficult time losing the weight (i was completely unfilled about 2 1/2 weeks before my PS due to being REALLY tight with the stress of the PS) my pics will be up on my blog in about 5-10 minutes. i cant see much difference between the 20 & 27 day pics ... of course DH zoomed in more for the 27 day pics, so it looks a little skewed. but you can see that 'pouch' of fat on my left. i was really hoping the pulling of the skin with the TT would take care of it completely. it lessened it, but didnt get rid of it.
  13. but can that pouch stretch (like a normal stomach can) if you eat too much? why is it only no hunger for about 2 years? does the nerve just 'wake up'?
  14. for a ticker - http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f5/ticker-tutorial-pictures-41782/
  15. i understand. once you are healed, you need to just find what works for you. low carb works for me... BUT i also when i was REALLY losing the weight, forced myself to the gym... getting up at 4am to work out before work, sometimes going after work. you just gotta do it. exercise is a must for optimal results. you can do it...
  16. steph I understand and agree about the upper belly fat I have this pocket that went down but not away with my plastics. I took more pics last nite and will post them when I get a moment
  17. the first several weeks after banding are not for weight loss. they are for healing. any loss you get is a 'bonus' and should be celebrated. use this time to follow your post op diet and anchor that band into place. weight loss will come once you are properly restricted (may take 1-x times). good luck
  18. **sigh** i dont know enuff about the sleeve and am too tired (ahem lazy) to look it up ... can you give me the jist of it? btw - what's a PB?
  19. im still confused on this ... i thought everyone did..
  20. betty, its so scary ... i HAVE to get more active. my restriction was crap (just filled again today) but i gained a few (less than 5) pounds ... i need to work off the cals or its going to be horrendous. walking slowly is all i can really do right now, so that's what i'll do. come 6 weeks out, i'll ramp it up a bit more.
  21. yup, im a side sleeper as well. lasted maybe 1 night on my back exclusively... no hip lipo though, back and flanks
  22. guess i need to open my eyes :tongue_smilie:
  23. i second that, but usually 1-2 does the trick for me... im not a horndog like some people :tongue_smilie:
