  1. Well, I do agree with SandyM. My surgeon had his lapband since 2002. He lost 100 lbs, I trust him to kn ow the in and outs of lapband.Plus he has placed 1000's. i have never heard of such a thing as when it stops hurting, you have stretched your band! My surgeon keeps us on clear for 2 weeks and then full liquids for 2 weeks. We don't start solids of any sort for a month. But different strokes for different folks! Follow your own surgeon's rules, best wishes!
  2. You go Catfish! Mine is at the end of October! 4 years is awesome! Mine, too! Congrats!!!
  3. My surgeon uses the barium swallow after my fills to verify that I am not too tight. He can watch the liquid pass thru my band with the floroscope!
  4. Congrats on your NSV! And great that you are learning to slow down your eating! excellent advice for newbies!
  5. everyone is different. You could be at eh "green zone" already. Some folks never need afill. I have 5 cc and have never gone over 5. 5 cc. Best wishes!
  6. I spent the night at he hospital walking around a lot. I made 5 trips around the hospital pushing my IV drip! Best wishes and yes about the sips of water.
  7. Hi, since you don't say what part of Florida, you have gotten many responses. I am in Lakeland, my surgeon has offices in Tampa, Orlando, and Zephyrhills areas. His name is Grossbard, and he has several associates at Florida Surgical Weightloss Centers.
  8. What b-52 said. Just take something for the soreness and you should be fine in a day or two!
  9. oh, yipes, I bethca itch like heck. Did you break out, or just itch? Well at least steri strips come off after a week or so. Best wishes.
  10. Oh Cheryl, I so agree. Aftercare is probably the most important thing you can get from your lapband surgeon and office.
  11. Hi Bkhuffman, I am Karen, also. I had a slipped band back in 2011. The surgeon went in and adjusted it and did not need to replace it. I am in the "green zone" since repairing the slip. I have been green for about a year now. I had to have the .2 cc unfill to get me there. I am easily filled at 5 cc. Best wishes, I did not even think ab out replacing my band with a sleeve or anything else.
  12. Welcome, welcome, welcome! 10 1/2 years is excellent. I think the only person I know that has been nearly that long is my surgeon who went to Mexico for his surgery and then trained under Dr Ortiz, too!
  13. I don't agree that gall bladder surgery is a piece of cake. I was much sicker with it than with my lapband! Then I went back in the hospital 12 days after original surgery to have the stones removed from my bile duct after I got pancreatis! Be careful!
  14. Me too, but worse part was my pcp was on vacation and left someone else in charge who didn't think I had gall bladder problems. My urine was bright red by the time my gall bladder was removed! My pain felt like hot knife being stabbed and turned! Best wishes! Gall bladder pain is not fun!
  15. How you doing? I see it is 2 days ago. Congrats on your decision
  16. I agree, but its hard to not want to spoil yourself too often, I stay away from ice cream, becasue I like it too much. I do treat myself to a peace of chocolate, tho'
  17. I propped myself with a pillow on both sides to prevent rolling!
  18. Congrats, and thanks for sharing a great NSV!
  19. (Just like the old commercial that says "only my hairdresser knows for sure"!)Only my surgeon's office knows for sure!
  20. I am a must have one a day person!
