  1. Not recognizing yourself in a mirror! Here's one, telling hubby, "she sure has a a small butt", and him saying, "you are too"!
  2. Best wishes for the upcoming Halloween, and then Thanksgiving, in the USA. We all have struggles, but the band is helpful to keep us from really overdoing!
  3. Saying you live in the DC area, makes sense to go out of state! A lot of people in that area go "out of state"( I lived in Maryland for 40 years, so am aware). Go where you feel comfortable, even out of state!
  4. I think week two gas is worse than week one! Just keep walking, and taking something to relieve, hot water bottle, shoulder rub...Best wishes!
  5. Belching is definitely normal! Just think of yourself as one of the "guys"! HAHA!
  6. I agree with tmf. I want to add that, my testimony in the the "Big Lapband Book" can be seen, I said the same thing as you. I was part of TOPS in high school but wore a 9/11 and never hit 140, but I was "fat", because others were not! I have yoyo'd all my adult life. You need a support system as tmf stated. Good luck, Karen

Not to hijack a thread, but this is a wonderful testimony to your father! God blessed you with him, and now you can bless others, too!
  8. My answer is smaller meals, watching what I put into my mouth and exercise. All true! tonifrdabronx, you are doing great!

    Wonderful news, you are blessed!
  10. Best wishes! Have had a slipped band, too!Was repaired 2 years ago. Okay now!
  11. So happy for you!
  12. I really hate when I know that I am hungry, but nothing is appetizing! I am like b-52. There was a lot that I ate when I did not have the band, that I do not eat today. Most red meat doesn't appeal to me, and salads don't either. I eat very little bread, it doesn't say eat me anymore! And, the only dairy I have is butter because my hubby and I both test 4+ on dairy.
  13. Living in central Florida, we mostly listen to country. My granddaughter even sings with a country twang that she picked up from Carrie Underwood!
  14. I did that, too! Lifted a box and rested it on my stomach as fat people tend to do, oh so sorry for that! Just take it easy.
  15. 2. If you are TRULY in the Green zone, that REFLUX SHOULD NOT HAPPEN OFTEN if you don't eat close to bedtime. I truly agree with what NANA says here! If you have just a bit of fill removed, it might help the reflux. I know you want a tight band, but sounds a little too tight and reflux can be damaging to your esophagus. Karen
  16. Welcome and best wishes from an old timer!Your gas pains might not start until tomorrow or later than that. When you get pain in your left shoulder, that will be gas! Walking is the best thing for you when you can. It might be too soon for hat, if you are just out of recovery, tho'!
  17. Welcome, you sound like you are doing well! Your dog will love all the walks that you can take, and so will you, it will help you heal and rid your body of gas!Best wishes, Karen
  18. Actually, my husband, who is also, wheat and corn intolerant, had an attack last week while he and my daughter had stopped for onion rings. He was having hot flashes, etc. We have been NOT eating wheat, corn, etc for months now.
  19. But don't forget, you are supposed to only eat for 20 mins. If it takes you longer, you should stop!
  20. I counted 12 pairs, have fun! Just don't forget, might only be able to do once, then the pockets get too close! Haha! Great NSV!
  21. Brag all you want! New found confidence and weightloss probably put you over the promotion glass ceiling! Hurrah! Great NSV!
  22. When I have eaten something that cause me a problem, my husband teases me about putting a steak or something in the blender  ! Gross!
