  1. You wil probably be running to the restroom from liquids in, liquids out! The 1st few days on liquids will clean you out!! After you come off, you might slow down, but other than that you should loose weight, okay. Karen
  2. A lot of people in the US, have surgery in Mexico on Friday, and home after the weekend. So you should be good after a few days. Good luck, Karen
  3. Great NSV Holly, I too love them! You are doing great! Karen
  4. A lot of people think of it as a quick fix, and not a lifetime commitment! Just be a friend if she chooses to have lapband, when she needs you, be there! Good luck to you and her! Karen
  5. Yay!!!Congrats on the weight loss. That is a marvelous feeling!
  6. What they said! Yes, it can make a big difference. Maybe a cup of soup is too much! Sometimes, 1/2 a cup is enough. But, if you are having trouble eating and drinking you might need a slight unfill! Karen
  7. Usually, walking is permitted, Actully, walking is recommened to rid yourself of gas! I am not sure that walking the length of a movie will be okay the 1st few weeks, tho'. You will probably have to take it slowly for a while. As far as healing, you may take a longer while if he has to fix a hernia. Ask your surgeon any questions concerning healing, out of work, etc. Good luck on you journey to a "new" you. Karen
  8. I would order some fish and salad. Or go with an appetizer, as the op said. If he asks, say that you are dieting. You don't have to say that you have a band, unless you feel comfortable doing so! Good luck, Karen
  9. I 've had the same problem since Oct when I had my revision due to sliappage. I finally am back at 5 cc and seem to be okay, unless I eat something I should not. I am loosing again, and that is my main thing, as I had gained about 10 lbs between OCt and Jan. Good luck to us all , Karen
  10. Wow! you look amazing! Karen
  11. I can't see where you think that you have a problem. 20 lbs in 4 months is amazing! Sometimes a tweek is all you need, but sometimes that is too much. Good luck. Karen
  12. Yahoo! For your scale-NSV!!!!
  13. You are still on liquids; it is pretty normal. You will probably plateau for awhile, or lose slower once you start eating. Once you start excersing again, your clothes might get looser before you show scale loss! Good luck, Karen...We call that NSV, non-scale victories.
  14. I think that you probably are a little too tight! I agree with Jazzy; I will bet that .5 cc will make a big difference! Good luck, Karen
  15. Congrats on your 1 year bandiversary! Karen
  16. can't giv eyou any adive, but good luck! SOmetimes, the bnad will go back into shape.Karen
  17. If you are not having anything until 2pm, you are not doing your body any good. Try to have something in the am. And tummy growls are normal, so don't take that as a sign that you are hungry!!! I get them a lot, and know that I am not hungry, as I just had soemthing. Good luck, might be blood pressure too low, or low blood sugar. Karen
  18. You did great, take care and you will stay the course. I went through having my lapband unfilled and then revision. I know what you are going through. Good luck, Karen
  19. My niece had decided that the band wouldn't be right for her either! SHe had teh gastirc bypass done in summer of 2008/ SH lost about 100 lbs. So good luck to you. Karen
  20. Hi, I had a fill on Wednesday, I am still on liquids. Try liquids for at least aday to calm your tube and tummy down. You may be a bit to filled. See what happens after the liquids for a day or so. If you still can't keep anything down, call your surgeon for a slight unfill! Good luck, Karen
  21. It looks to me, like they took a little fill out, so he is probably at 4 1/2 cc, which for a 1st fill is pretty awesome. Here's wishing you luck with your 1st fill. And yes, watching the fill go down is neat! KAren
  22. You go Girl! You are doing great! Keep on keeping on. Karen
  23. I had a slip! I 1st noticed that I coughed all night long, some mucus would come up. Sometimes, I would be up every hour spitting up mucus. Finally before my appointment, I had a trash can by my bed to spit in, all night long. Surgeon suggested generic :Nexium". Did nothing for me! I was able to eat NOTHING!!! I lost alot of weight but was almost dehydrated, too! If this is you, see your surgeon, call for an emergency apt ASAP! Goodluck, Karen
  24. I wouldn't give you a fill either! Your lap band journey will be over in 10 more weeks and then the Dr. can't make any money off ya. Gotta stretch it out a little, you know? My son had his surgery in August. Sugreon gave him an intial fill at surgery, and 1 more. He has lost about 70 lbs. I would be happy loosing without a fill! There is anothr gentleman on here who has never had a fill. Not sure if it is B-52, but anyway, this perosn has lost most of his weight without a fill at all. Goodluck, maybe you will be one of the folks who doesn't need a fill to gain restriction! Karen
