  1. Well, I also, have old lady thighs. My husband said with panty hose on, that my legs look great, so I can wear above the knee skirts and such. But, I have to live with the old lady thighs when swimming. I am sorry, I do not want to go through plastic surgery. I am not into pain, even if it will make me look better! I am just having to work harder, but don't know that exercise will do it! Good luck and here's to "Old Lady Thighs"!!! Karen
  2. Welcome and good luck with yoru new band. Karen
  3. Haha! My husband calls me a cheap date! I eat very small meals, and usually share it with him. ANd 1 glasss of wine does me in! GOod luck.
  4. I had a fish burger from Bk a couple weeks ago. I ordered it without the bun. I must say it was like comfort food! But I can't even think about a burger and fries! If someone goes to McD's or Bk, I might have a fry or 2, never a burger and never a whole order of fries, not even a small. The thought revolts me! But I guess a lot of folks can do it. I sometimes look at pizza on TV and think, yumm. I know that if I even bought one, I would probably have 2 bites and be done. As far as your problem of throwing up, has the surgeon checked to make sure you are not slipped? When my band had slipped in Oct. I couldn't keep anything down, even with an unfill. Good luck to you, and us all. Karen
  5. Good for you, you are very wise to see teh surgoen and have a little removed, vomitting excessivley can cause a slippage. Good luck!
  6. I think you are youndg enough that you proabably will bounce back without too much trouble. As corrigan said young folks have enough elasticity in their sskin to not show those wrinkles. Now, I admit that after loosing 100lbs, I have more wrinkles, but a lot less chins!!!Karen
  7. I'm with B-52, I can't stand to watch food shows or even food commercials. and the idea of eating at one of the many buffets advertised on TV is just revolting to me! Those 4 cours meals are enough to feed me and my two children, who also have lapband. I am not a food channel addict. I don't even hea my son, who used to be a food channel addict, say he watches much anymore. Best wishes all. Karen
  8. I 1st met with the surgeon's team. He required the seminar 1st, then checked with the insurance company for me. They required a 6 month monitored weightloss program. I chose to do it with the bariatric center. I needed to see a nutritionist and have a pych evaluation. After the 6 months, I got my okay for surgery right away. Good luck, I was 61 when I had my surgery. Karen
  9. Best of luck to you! Wish I had the courage to do it. But, I am 63 years old, and don't like pain. I just have to deal with the puochy belly. Karen
  10. I have alot of trouble with salad. Stay away from iceberg lettuce, for some reason it is hard to chew up. Also, I agree, you may still be slightly swollen, and the excitement for the wedding could be a factor too, take it easy for a few days. You might want to go back to liquids. Congratuations on the "new attitude" and NSV's galore. Karen
  11. I was banded 2 years before you! (actually the day before Halloween in 209). I remember that I had lost about 25-30 lbs on my 6 month diet but then slowed down adn didn't loose much between November and January. So, don't be discouraged. Your weight loss will come. Good luck with your next fill. Karen
  12. Well, my 2 cents worth, is if you loose a "friend" because you loose weight, they aren't or weren't much of a friend anyway!!! So good luck, and any online friends you meet here will be supportive of your losses! Karen
  13. Congrats! MY surgery was 2 1/2 years ago. I, also, feel the life changing decision was the best ever. It gave my daughter and my son teh coourage to go forward with their own LB surgery. Best of luck to all, Karen
  14. You might be swollen, my surgeon recommends liquids for 2 days, clear, and 2 days full. Try going back to liquids for a few days! Goodluck, Karen, congrats on the new baby!
  15. You would be surprised on what the doctors, you work for, think. My sons best friend is a doctor, and he was really pushing him to have the surgery. He said you won't live to be 50 at your rate! He is an Indian. My PPO doctor is from Uraguay, she was, also, all for it. They might be judgemental, but they probably think that you might need help. if you are heavy enough to be approved, then they might have their opinion about your weight too. Give them the benefit of the doubt! Best wishes, Karen
  16. Coffee gets me through the day! I am 2 1/2 years out, but have drank coffee since about 3 weeks after surgery. I can't function without it! Tea doesn't do it for me.
  17. Welcome to all newcomers. I am 2 1/2 years out and am willing to try answer any questions you might have. Karen
  18. Any crunchy chip! I limit myself by using a small ramekin to eat them from. I should not have them in the house, but hubby loves them, too!
  19. Congrats on your bandaverary! And good luck on your marathon!Karen
  20. Congrats to you! You have done an amazing job. Good luck to future losses
