New Bandster Can't Eat Hardly Anything! What Can I Do?
Now I am not a doctor, or even an expert. But, it seems like you are forcing your band and your stomach to eat too soon. Most of us are on clear liquids for a week after surgery, then full liquids. Cottage cheese and oatmeal are not liquids! I don't remember well, because I had surgery over 2 years ago. But, my son had surgery in August, the surgeon's assistant told him that cottage cheese shouldn't even be eaten at mushy stage. Calm down, follow your surgeon's guide lines to a T and you should be okay! Karen

What Happens If You Have The Flu With The Lap Band?
I agree, I overheard my surgeon telling a teacher that if a stomach virus was running through her school, to come and get an unfill for precautionary purposes! I did have a stomach virus, and ended up with a slip in October. Take care!

I Now Know Why I Needed A Lap Band!
Oh, I do agree. I knew I needed lapband to keep me honest. i bore easily with diets. I am at the top of my normal BMI. But, due to slippage, I have 3 1/2 cc in my port. I have been using will power over the holiday to stop eating. My next apt, I am asking for another 1/2 cc. Good luck to all in maintenance and folks still loosing. Karen

Help! I Can't Keep Anything, Including Liquids, Down And The Area Around My Lap Band Port Hurts
I agree, you need to see your surgeon ASAP! I, also, had this problem after a virus. I had a slip and needed surgery to repair it. Not all slips need surgery. Sometimes the surgeon just needs to remove your fill for your band to go back into shape. Good luck. Karen

Anyone use the LapBand ID card?
Never had a problem. My husband and I share all the time. My daughter and I do too! I can order off the senior menu and still have to take home or share with hubby. I don't like the"children's" menu food. I have never had to use my card. I just advise and they are very accommodating at most places. I do have a card, tho' Karen

Hi Everyone Banded - 10/27/2011
Yay! My son, who had surgery in August, lost quickly, too. I think, depending on your age, and being male, you will loose quicker than us, females. He was over 300 an dis now down to 236. The surgeon is very happy with his weight loss. I think he has had 2 fills and goes back on Wed for his weigh-in. You can do it, and don't fret about loosing too quickly. There is a gentleman on here who lost over 100 lbs without getting any fills! Good luck, Karen

How To Know When You Are Full
I, also, hiccup. And I feel a fullness, at the top of my stomach; I guess that is the top of the tube. Once, I experience that feeling, I stop eating. If I don't, there could be a bad experience following! Karen

Thanksgiving With The Lap Band
This is my 3rd Thanksgiving, also. I did fine, until trying to eat a late dinner. I haven't had much restriction lately, so I was not noticing when I swallowed too big a piece of turkey. That was it for me! I had to visit my friend "ralph" in the restroom. This was my 1st experience since having my band readjusted in Oct. I only have 3 1/2 cc in my band.now. Karen

Anyone Else Have Nighttime Reflux Coughing Or Vomitting?

The 60s -- the greatest decade to grow up in!
HI Folks, Well today is Thanksgiving day! I am thankful that I have a nation that is Free to give thanks anyway we want to. Some people will spend their day in line to be the 1st to shop on Black Friday. I will start my day by attending church to thank the Lord for this day. Then, I will have dinner with my family and be thankful that we have food to share. Then, we will watch football on our 60" screen and one again be thankful for plenty! Thank you to all our servicemen and women and patriots who have kept us free for so many years! Pearl Harbor attack, JFK's assassination, the Challenger blowing up, and 9/11, all the other times our country has been challenged show than when this country is at its lowest point, it is the strongest! Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!
