  1. To be perfectly honest, almost, everyone in my surgeon's offcie has had the surgery, including the surgeon! How do you know that your friends girlfriend is not a former patient? What the op above me said, Hippa laws forbid her to gossip about you or any other patients! Good luck, Karen
  2. Looking good, Eli the WineguyD. Congrats on your weight loss. My son is doing the smae thing as you. Enjoying the heck out of doing it, too!
  3. It sounds like you have a slip. The surgeon wsa trying to get the band to go back into place with out surgery. If it doesn't, which it sounds like it did not, the surgeonw ill eithe rhave to revision it, or replace it. Been there, with the revision. Good luck, take it easy. Don't test yoru band after having the fill unless it has had time for the swelling to go down. Karen
  4. I, also, started to read the comments. They were needlessly cruel, but then you know how pompus some folks are! Good luck to here, and I, also, am not sure of her as the National spokesperson.
  5. I 1st noticed that problem when I tried ot take a long trip. Previously from loosing weiht, I could ride hours without getting a sore bumm. Now, even after a few minutes, I find I need to shift to get comortable, and have to have a pad under my bumm and back to ride longer than an hour or so. Congrats on your "interesting"NSV!
  6. I can't do any steak, not even prime rib which was always a favorite of mine. I live on mostly smoothies and fish. I can do peanut butter, yum, yum! Salads and raw veggies get to me, also. I can eat, very slowly, and slighly, a salad which has different lettuce other than iceberg. I can eat hard breads, and just recently started to eat small slices of then crust pizza. I don't eat potaotes, unless I have a fry or 2. My advice, also, is NEVER eat in the car.
  7. I, also, can't do salad. I have recently been able to eat salad, if I am selective on what knd of lettuce I have on it. Raw vegetables are very hard to chew up to a consistenacy that will not cause a pb. I can't eat steak! I will pb everytime, even if I chew very well. If you want steak, try chopped steak. My son has 7 cc in his 10 cc band, and he has now gotten real restriction for the 1st time. He has lost 88 lbs, and has about another 20 to loose. He can eat a yogurt and be satisfied, now. You might need to eat less than before. Good luck, Karen
  8. Congrats and thhese are great NSV's. You deserve a big "high 5"! Great job. Karen
  9. That is awesome, and you can feel greater just because you know that you made a difference in that kids life! Hurrah!
  10. Congrats to you both! The NSV's are almost better than scale victories, too!
  11. Onederland is fun! Congrats on your success. Karen
  12. Congrats, Cazzy! B-52 is right. I remember when I hit that spot, too. It was exhilarating, to say the least. Go out and get something new to wear for spring! You sooooo deserve it. And probably need it, too! Karen
  13. I found liquids Tylenol and the store brand at CVS pharmacy. It does come in adult dosage!
  14. Lito, you have alot to look forward to. Just be thankful that the warning signs were not deadly! Good luck, I know that your family and friends will support you.
  15. (((( )))))sending you a big hug! You have your life a head of you! Just be glad you found out about your ex before you married him! You have so much more than a lot of folks,. You are in college, you have a job and a place to live. And, you just took the biggest step toward a bright future, too! Good luck on your new life. You are a beautiful girl on the outside, now you need to work on the inside girl, too! We are all here for you, Rae. Keep in touch! Karen
  16. I did, the 1st time was on pizza. The 2nd time, I had a small roast beef on a roll. That was the worst ever. I couldn't stop for about 15 mins. I was at a anniversary party for my pastor, and my son had to drive me home. I was so embarrassed. Everyone just thought that I had a bad headache! Thank God! Anyway, yes, I have pb'd before getting any fill! Karen
  17. I had my surgery 2 m1/2 years ago. I had it because even though I can loose the weight, (have lost hundreds of pounds over the years), I get bored with dieting and yoyo back up! That is why many of us have had the surgery. Good luck and best wishes for your decision.
  18. Happy birthday and congrats on your successful weightloss. I hope that you have many more birthdays and weightloss, too!
  19. Well said and good advice B-52. Never try to overeat. It has bad experiences with it. Sometimes, satisfied is one or 2 bites. You usually get a notice from your body when yyou have ahd enough. A lot of people get hiccups or burp. Best wishes. Karen
  20. My surgeon has never advised what to have before the fill. After a fill, mine surgeon says noting but clear liquids for 2 days, and then ful liquids for 2 days. I usually bring a drink to sip ont he way home as I live an hour away from the office. Best wishes for your 1st fill. As far as the fill, I agree with teh op, but it also, depends on how agressive your surgeon is. Karen
  21. Could be gall bladder. Mine felt like a stabbing pain that went from front to back! Good luck, call your surgeon if it continues. Karen
  22. That is so cool! I laugh at the added butt, I never had that problem. as a young girl, I had a fellow ask a friend if I had bought booty from Frederick's of Hollywood! Embarrassing for a young Catholic girl! Now, I am glad my butt is flat, HAHA!!!BUt, that is a great NSV you should be proud!
  23. A nice cup of coffee is lovely, I say as I drink my 1st cup of the day! However, I tolerate most fruit by drinking a fruit smoothy in the morning for breakfast. Love fresh fruit, and here in Florida, we get it early in the year. My strawberry smoothies are to die for!
  24. I agree with you on this! My niece, who is a nirse, said she looked in to lapabnd, but decided that bypass was the best thing for her! I, on the other hand, did not want to worry about dumping, etc. There are "good, bad, and ugly" about any of the weigjht loss surgeies from waht I can see. Karen
