What To Eat Before First Fill

I'm having my first fill tomorrow (so excited!). I was wondering if there are any restrictions on eating foods before the fill. Also, how many cc's should I expect. I know it varies person to person, but a general average. My band is a 11cc band and I have no restrictions currently.

Depends on what time your appointment is. I usually go at Noon. My doc said not to have anything after breakfast, so that the stomach will be empty. I've just started having a protein shake for breakfast on those days...just to make sure. As for how many cc's...it will all depend on how much you can tolerate. Best wishes and blessings to you!

My surgeon has never advised what to have before the fill. After a fill, mine surgeon says noting but clear liquids for 2 days, and then ful liquids for 2 days. I usually bring a drink to sip ont he way home as I live an hour away from the office. Best wishes for your 1st fill. As far as the fill, I agree with teh op, but it also, depends on how agressive your surgeon is. Karen

Thanks everyone for your advise and blessings!

My doc has me eating my last meal at least 2 hrs ahead of my fill. For 24 hrs I'm instructed to drink nothing but clear liquids - then it's a normal diet.

Good luck to you!

Marci

Usually it really doesnt matter what you eat prior to fill it after you should be more careful like clear liquids or soft ideas, Good luck to you.

2-3 hours of no food but water ok. Fills can be as cheap as a half a cc to maybe 3cc...best of luck!
