  1. Congrats to both of you and good luck!!
  2. I agree everyone is different. I don't eat bread anymore as I know it is wasted calories and I'd rather eat something that is going to benefit me and give me what I need to stay full longer. This whole journey has been hard but well worth it. I hope you continue to do well in your journey.
  3. I also have a realize band and have 9.5cc in a 11cc band. I do feel restriction when I eat meats and dry food, but a lotof things can still slip right thru. So I really need to watch myself. They continue to tell me it is only a tool and that the person really needs be do alot of the work and be very motivated.
  4. Congratulations that's awesome. did you ever get discouraged? I feel pretty discouraged now since I haven't lost in 3 months but then again I haven't been back in to the doctor since the end of May. But I'm very happy for you way to go.
  5. Well I was banded on 11/30 and am down only 30lbs. These last 3 months I have lost nothing probably due to summer and vacation and numerous other things that have made me want to want me to eat more. So I need to get back on the band wagon and get with the program. I wish you all the best in your weight loss journey.
  6. Usually it really doesnt matter what you eat prior to fill it after you should be more careful like clear liquids or soft ideas, Good luck to you.
  7. I also have a realize band and it hold 12cc I have my third fill on 3/21. Have 6cc in there now and can still eat pretty much anything which is a bummer. I wish I had more will power but things seem to just slip down without difficutly except for apples! Hopefully after this fill I'll have more restriction and start to loss weight. Wish me luck!!
  8. I also was banded 11/30 and have only lost about 10lbs since surgery. Remember this is a tool only, the doctor said a pound a week is about all I will loss. You sound like you are going great. Keep it up and I'm sure the weight will come off.
  9. The dietician told me if you really need your coffee drink it sparingly, one cup a day. Which is great thats all I usually drank anyways!!
  10. I had one limon and diet coke and could feel it faster. But I'm not much of a drinker anymore.
  11. I agree gummy bears would get stuck. They wouldn't be my candy of choice! lol Give me chocolate!
  12. Eggs did it to me too. It's like they just sit there and don't want to move down.
  13. Wow you two are lucky that everything went so well. I was sick for days but now have 2 months under my belt and am feeling fabulous. Good luck to you both.
  14. I got my first fill yesterday also but didnt get my til 8 weeks post op. I received 4cc and feel pretty good restriction. Hopefully the scale will show some results next week.
  15. Well the NP did say about a pound a week, But right now I feel good restriction after only one day. It seems like a eat a few bites and feel full so that is good. Realistically want to loss about 50lbs which I know I can do over time. Just need to be patient. Thanks for replies.
  16. Everyones journey is different so what you are experiencing is normal for you. I'm 2 months out and remember the first couple of days post op they were miserable for me. I was told it gets better and that is so true. The best of luck to you.
  17. So what is an average weight loss per week after a fill. I had my first fill yesterday and the NP said that I would probalby only loss about a pound a week til my next appointment in a month. Is this normal? I was hoping for more weight loss in a month.
  18. Well first fill was yesterday and today I can feel more restriction which is good cuz I'm eating less. But it is a little bit uncomfortable but manageable.
  19. I got my first fill today and as of right now can feel no difference.
  20. Well now that you mention it I never gave it much thought but looked through my info and I have the realize band but I didn't know anything about the low versus high pressure. I guess I'm going to have to do some looking into this. Thanks for making my more alert!
  21. I havent had a fill yet was banded on 11/30. First fill this week on 1/28. I'm alittle bit nervous worried that I'll have these stuck episodes people talk about. But have probably been eating to much without a fill So i'm looking forward to having a bit more control over my eating.
  22. Thanks for the reminder about swimsuit season now I'm way more motivated, Good luck to you also!!
  23. I would think if you brought the right food with you you would be fine. But I've never gone backpacking though.
  24. Can you feel that you have fluid in the band?
