I'm going in for a check up in a couple of weeks myself. I'm concerned that I might have a slight slip also. Thanks for sharing Otaknam! Once again, our sharing has made me realize we're not in this alone! Just take it one day at a time and remember the basics. I'm even going to ask my doc for a food plan and to give me a list of no-no's again. I'm just going to try to start over, whether they adjust my band or not. We're here for you! BTW, hi everyone!! Sorry haven't been on much, but I think about you all every day. God bless!
  2. I've been away from this site for too long. Time to get back on track!

Hi everyone! Otaknam, JDI...thanks for the encouragement and to you ladies and NJ2NC (and everyone else)...thanks for sharing your struggles & victories. Over 2 years later, its so great to still have this group of support & encouragement...and to know we are not alone in this journey. I'm logging food today...hope I can keep it up. I'm also thinking about making an appointment to have my band checked...my last appointment was a year ago!! I just want to make sure all is well & that it hasn't moved or I haven't stretched my "pouch". Planning to get back to my exercise routine today too. Its a beautiful, sunny day here in Nashville & I work downtown...so I'm planning to walk, walk at lunch today! Love me some sunshine. God bless you all!

oh you guys! well...I should say ladies I guess...I don't know of any guys on this string. I am miserable & disgusted with myself. I'm doing everything wrong...and I know it. I say I'm going to do better, and then wind up sabotaging myself. At this time last year, I was down 112 pounds from the day I first saw my surgeon. I've gained, lost and regained the same 20 pounds. ugh!!! I know I must get back to logging my food. I know I must start exercising every day again. I keep saying I'm just going to start over...but can't seem to make myself do it. help!!!

Saturday was my 2-year anniversary...yay! What is everyone else's date? I've forgotten. Nicki...awesome news on "dipping the toe in" to Onederland! Great job! Otaknam...good to see you. Please share with us your experience with the plastics if you go that route. I've been thinking about some lipo myself. Honestly...its the money that's holding me back since I know insurance won't even look at something like that. I guess I just need to get my butt back in gear & get back on the treadmill. Oh...and Nicki...don't beat yourself up over the chocolate dive. We all have our moments or days...LOL. I just came off a 21-day Daniel Fast with our church. And though losing weight was not the goal, that basically vegan diet did help me lose about 6 or 8 pounds that I had gained back. However, the first thing I grabbed to break the fast was dark chocolate covered almonds...and then I licked the chocolate frosting off a mini cupcake. LOL. I pray you all have a wonderfully blessed day.

Hi everyone! JDI...great job! yes...pass it on to someone else. That's what I did with all my clothes except a few pieces to remind me where I don't won't to be again. Kymie...glad the test went well. I've been experiencing a bit of reflux lately too (I had it really bad before my surgery). However, we've been doing a Daniel fast at church so I've had a LOT of fruit juice the past three weeks. I think it will calm down after we finish the fast on Sunday. LadyB---thanks for being so dedicated & reminding us to post here. Its so great for us to encourage each other and keep each other accountable. Can you believe its been two years?? My bandiversary is Saturday. Still got that 100 pounds off! yay! I could stand to lose another 10 or 12 back down to 160-ish, but honestly, I'm okay where I am. If it comes back off...great. If not, I'm 100 pounds healthier today than I was 2 years ago. Thank you all for being there and making this journey a lot more fun! Love you all...God bless!

Hi everyone! Sorry its been so long since posting. 4th Quarter has been crazy here at work. I pray you all had a wonderful Christmas, Hanakuh (sp?), holiday that you celebrate! Wishing everyone a Happy New Year too! Hi Shelly and Sharpie! Sharpie...don't worry about starting over. The majority of us on this thread were banded January 2012...we are coming up on our 2 year bandiversaries (wow! 2 years!!). I think all of us have "started over" more than once. its okay...that's the beauty of the band! Shelly, I can't speak for everyone else, but I chose the band because its less invasive than gastric by-pass. It also "moves" with you, so to speak. Meaning...that if I'm too restricted because of sickness or maybe I'm dehydrated...or just too much fluid in the band...it can be adjusted. If I'm able to eat too much...they can take care of that too. My mom didn't have that luxury with gastric by-pass. if she had days where she couldn't eat, she had to suffer through it. That being said, you have to do the research and figure out what you feel is going to be best for you. The band is not perfect. We've all had our struggles with it. God bless and good luck to you! To all my other friends here: Praying many blessings for you in 2014, continued good health & success, and for all of us to keep up with each other here.

Hi everyone. I just dropped in to see what condition my condition is in. (lol...I crack me up.) Seriously..I hate that I haven't been on much lately. Maintaining but would still like to get rid of about 13 lbs I gained back. Nicole...glad to see you back & getting your life back. Otaknam...wow! Hang in there...one day at a time. Gotta run...only a few left on my lunch break. Keep up the good work all!
  10. Made a good choice today. Instead of eating my way through some anger, I walked on my lunch break instead. yay me.

  11. Allergies suck. Chicken soup is not filling.

That's awesome Nicki!! Congrats! I wish the scale would move back down for me. Feels like all I'm doing is for nought. ugh! Don't need more restriction...I wouldn't be able to eat at all if I did that. oh well...I'm still better off now than where I was a year and a half ago.

Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't posted. I have been in a regular routine back at the gym. I'm also logging my food every day. That surely dies help. I haven't seen any real change over the past month since I got back on track. Its also TTOTM, so hopefully in a couple of days I'll see some change. I want to lose these 18 pounds I gained back, but, if I stay a size 14...its better than a 26! I so glad we're posting again. I love hearing from all of you & it certainly does help to stay on track.

Ladybandito...LOL! And actually yesterday...I skipped the gym. My Kiddo talked me into taking a "rest day". We were there, dark & early at 4:15 this morning though!! LOL. All of you all's trips (i know that is grammatically incorrect...sorry) sound so cool. I would love to take another one but looks like its going to be a while. The kid has to have braces. JDI...I'm in bed by 10p usually...so I only get about 5 hours sleep. I have to start going to bed earlier though. Its starting to wear on me. However....its working...slowly, but still working. Down 4 lbs since I started back on 8/1.

I see you logging too JDI!! Its helping me as well! I've lost three pounds in the past week or so, since I've gotten back to a regular, vigorous exercise schedule and started logging my food again. And honestly...4AM sucks! But its the only time I can go and it really does help me get my day going. My 13 YO has been going with me. He's so excited about getting his own membership, that his enthusiasm makes me get up and JUST DO IT! He starts back to school tomorrow...so we shall see how long he lasts with the 4AM workout times. LOL. I read a couple of reports though, that regular exercise can really help kids with ADD to focus better. I am hoping they are right! Sue...I forgot to say "yay on the platforms!" At least I think it was Sue. oh my...i need to go back and read some of these posts. LOL. I hope everyone is doing well...keep it up everyone!

Happy Sunday everyone! We had an awesome service at church this morning. I am getting back on track with exercise & logging my food. It seem like we all are. Isn't it interesting how much it helps to share on here? It has certainly helped me this past week. Have a great week everyone & God bless!

Yay! I logged everything on MFP today! I haven't done that in so long! I did go over by about 200 calories, but I'm owning it. I also got a solid lunch down today! I really hope I'm getting back on track. So glad you all are here. Thanks for sharing & thanks for the encouragement!

Hi everyone! Been so busy, posting hasn't been easy, but I've been reading the thread replies in my e-mail. I started back to the gym last Thursday. I went Thursday, Friday, Monday & yesterday. My 13-YO is going with me (yes, at 4AM! lol). That really helps me to get going because he enjoys it so much. I think I might be down a pound or two. My problem is that its usually dinner time before I can eat anything substantial...and then I just kinda go haywire. One would think that as tight as my band is, I'd be losing instead of gaining, but I know its because I haven't been exercising properly & I've been eating too much too late at night. I am working on changing that. Trying not to snack during the day on sliders...even small amounts. Gotta get back to the basics. Still in a good place, but not as good as I was in December. Its amazing to me that, even 18 months later, so many of us are in similar situations. I know in some cases it sucks, but at the same time, it sure does help knowing we are not alone. God bless you all !

SueBee...so happy for you! One day at a time. NJ2NC...good to see you again. That is a difficult thing to accept...but sometimes you gotta Nicole it...I mean...JustDoIt. LOL. okay...so...Friday will be 18 months since my surgery. I initially lost 112 pounds in less than a year. Then I had to have my band loosened and gained a few pounds back. Not a lot, but enough to bug me. My band is green-zone, but I know I'm not exercising enough. Those first 10 or 11 months, I was at the gym just about every day. I'm posting this, in hopes that it will make me more accountable for my actions...but also because I need some encouragement from the rest of you Bandsters. I hope you all are doing well! Remember...a loss is LOSS! We didn't gain the weight overnight (though sometimes I think I do) and we're not going to get rid of it all overnight. I'm so proud of each and every one of you...for every step you take toward a healthier you! God bless!

Hi everyone! I've missed you all. SueBee and Otaknam...wow! I'm glad you both are doing okay. I've evidently missed a lot. Saying prayers for you both for quick recoveries. The fam and I went on vacation this past week. It felt weird getting into a bathing suit and not feeling self-conscious about it. I have been struggling though. I think I've caught JDI's ice cream bug. LOL. I may try the recipe above though. It sounds easy and good. I know my biggest issue is not exercising enough. I've GOT to make that a necessity again. I've gained back too many pounds. I'm still in a size 14, but six months ago, I was down to a 10/12 in a lot of things. I will NOT go above a 14 again. I know I must start logging my food again as well. Vacation is over now, so its time to buckle back down and get these pounds off again. I'm so glad you all are still here. You guys are such an inspiration to me, and together...we can keep going! Sending you all love and prayers for God's richest blessings!

I, however, just froze my gym account for a couple of months because there's no sense paying for something I'm not using! Gotta get out and walk more and try to do some things at home...and step away from the chocolate!!! ugh!
  24. I am one year and 3 months post-surgery. Maintaining fairly well...but would sure be better if I could make myself exercise again!
