It has been one year since my lap and surgery and I couldn't be happier! For me, it has been the best decision I ever made. I went from 240 lbs to my current weight of 159 lbs! I am in a size 6 jeans!!! I would still like to loss about twenty more pounds. This has been a life changing experience for me! The lap band has given me the control I lacked before by letting me feel full after a normal amount of food. Occasionally I eat too fast and things get stuck but that happens rarely now. There are some foods that I can no longer eat that I miss, but it was so worth it for me. I feel good. I feel confident. I am me again!

Congrats LadyT!!! I am in the same place! Do you ever pull those size 6s out of the dryer and think theres no way you will get into them or that they belong to one of the kids?

Thanks everyone. I know how important is was for me to hear some good stories. There sometimes seems to be only that bad ones out! As long as you don't try to cheat the band, is is a great tool.

I would have been happy with a 12! Here I am though with less than 20 pounds til my goal and already a size 8. I just bought 3 pairs of 8's, thinking about buying a pair of size 6 just to have so I can keep trying on until I get in them! Oh, the things I do for fun!

I plateaued at 155 but 145 would be normal BMI so I got a fill! I got 0.3cc and it made all the difference...I went to 140 in a couple of months...I just dont diet and I dont exerise but I eat less because of the band.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
