  1. yes tell him if he likes you he will support you and he could be a gr8 help and a fantastic future partner for you. if hes not happy with your decision then hes no good any way, its best to find out his thoughts now at this early stage, than worrying later when you had your op. go 4 it tell him i would in your position, good luck !!
  2. im the same some days i can hardly eat and others i can, i find some times it depends on your mood and how u are feeling that day, if u are relaxed and happy so is your stomach and food goes down easily, if your tense, upset or stressed this tightens you stomach walls up and stops me eating, it is different for every one but this is my experience of resriction/no restriction senario.
  3. well said woodys i could not agree with u more, you cant decide to have a band then not use it when it suits you, no point at all, its there for a reason to restrict our calorie intake and thats the the way it should stay !!
  4. Marmalela The bypass is a very dangerous operation and has many more long term complications that cant be reversed, the band therefore is a much less invasive procedure and is a much healthier way to lose the weight, i would choose the band time and time again, the band is a great tool and u will lose wieght if u work hard along with it, good luck with your decision xxx
  5. 8. CAROL I AGREE WITH YOU THE BAND IS A MUCH SAFER AND LESS INVASIVE PROCEDURE, THE COMPLICATIONS ARE NOT AS HARSH EITHER WITH THE BAND, AND THE BAND IS REVERSIBLE IF COMPLICATIONS ARISE, THE BYPASS IS NOT. YOU STICK WITH YOUR DECISION LOTS2LUV, YOU ARE DOING THIS FOR YOU AND NOT THEM DO THIS THE HEALTHIEST WAY AND STICK YOUR DECISION TO HAVE A BAND. GOOD LUCK ! XXX

  18. YOU NEED TO TELL HER THAT YOU ARE DOING THIS 4 YOU, JUST AS SHE WAS 10 YEARS AGO, AND THAT YOU NEED THE CHANCE TO TRY WEIGHT LOSS SURGERY FOR YOU. IF SHE IS A REAL FREIND SHE WILL UNDERSTAND YOUR DECISION AND WHY YOU WANT TO DO THIS. SHE WILL BE FINE WITH YOU I SHOULD THINK.

  21. WELCOME TO THE FORUM XXXX. GOOD LUCK ON YOR BAND JOURNEY XXXX
  22. Has having the lap band changed how you think about what your family eats as well as you ? I have certainly changed my approach and think more clearly about what im feeding my child, its all about life style and what you are used to eating as a child when growing up, and it has a big effect on what foods we choose to eat as adults, so im learning my child about nutrition and what is good and bad for him and why, i have explained to him that you can have certain foods but in moderation as part of a healthy diet. Has any one else felt like this since starting there lap band journey ?:puke: :bolt:
  23. IT IS THE SAME IN ENGLAND, ADS 4 MACDONALDS BURGER KING AND SO ON. USUALLY TARGETED TOWARDS OUR CHILDREN. CHILD HOOD OBESITY IS ON THE UP IN ENGLAND AND THESE FAST FOOD ADS ARE NOT ENCOURAGING OUR CHILDREN TO BE HEALTHY. THIS IS SOO BAD, ITS REDICULOUS !!!!!!
  24. I agree with your comment about being tight is the only way to lose, as there is no point if you can still eat the kinds of foods we ate pre op. I can eat any sloppy foods with sauces or gravey that is enough for me, but im tight enough to keep me off bread stuff like pizza and take aways so im happy. It all depends on how much restriction each individual will be happy with and how far you want to go.
