  1. I too paid a $600 fee. Even though insurance paid for my surgery, it gave me a little feeling of "ownership".. not sure if that makes any sense or not (i'm still on pain meds!)
  2. I did end up going to the ER tonight. They did a cat scan and told me to see my surgeon on Monday. Apparently I cannot take the liquid meds and the zofran is really making me really sick. They gave me a shot of phenagen tonight and it worked sooo much better. Hopefully I'm on the mend. Hope everyone else is too!
  3. Me too! I got a really shiny bracelet that says "NO TAPE" :w00t:
  4. I'm just wondering if anyone else is as sick as I am. I feel awful and have done nothing but throw up since I got home. Last night I even had bile. I guess I'll be going to the ER today. I have the anti-nausea meds and the pain meds, and have found out if I miss even 20 mins from being on time, I'm sick again. I haven't had much shoulder pain from the gas at all.. just belly pain. Honestly, I'm beginning to wonder what planet everyone that says "this was the easiest" surgery ever came from. I have had my gall bladder out and 2 c-sections. This surgery was A W F U L and painful and all the other ...ful's I can think of.
  5. See you guys on the other side Leaving for the hospital now.
  6. I do not wear mine while I sleep. It goes on the nightstand to wait for me to wake up. Mine is battery operated so I don't have to charge it. I also upload via wireless adapter so it doesn't have to come off my arm. Pro tip for ya.. I use the daily plate to find the nutritional information I don't have in front of me and plug those numbers in for my calories consumed. :smile2: I also think the watch attachment is really dumb and major 80's looking, but it's nice to have the information at my fingertips instead of having to wait to sync. Good luck!
  7. As long as you intend to eat it, I think it's alright. Killing for sport.. is wrong.
  8. Good luck today! I'll join you in two days!!
  9. I am STILL laughing about the solid dog food comment! That was just too funny!!! Hope everyone is doing well. I'm drinking my muscle milk and heading to work. I'm really glad I'm working right up till surgery so that I can keep my mind occupied.
  10. The piercings are a certain distance back from the top layer of skin. If they seem to be getting closer, very tender, red, hot, they are rejecting. Also, the distance between the holes is getting closer..for instance.. You had them done and they look like this: 0---------0 and now they look like this 0----0 A good sign they are rejecting. I had a microdermal that rejected. I had it removed before it completely came through the skin on it's own. Remember to keep up the salt soaks - those are SOOOO important!
  11. Ok.. I'm a bit concerned. I had my pre-op appt last Friday and I have surgery this coming Wednesday. No one mentioned anything about a barium swallow or a laxative before surgery?? I'm thinking I'll call the doc's office on Monday just to make sure. Does this sound right to anyone else?
  12. perhaps the 5 day pouch test to restart?
  13. Happy Birthday Wisconsin Jen!!!
  14. Here you go! LAP-BAND Congrats on the band!!! Glad to hear you are doing so well!
  15. Be up front with the coordinators, if THEY say it is fair.. then so be it. That is who you need to be concerned with.
  16. Had my pre-op appt today. All went well. The doc said I'm not getting enough calories/protein in on my liquid diet so he ok'd me to eat something solid as long as I am careful. SOOOOO... I stopped at Wendy's with my daughter on the way home and ate a small piece of grilled chicken while my youngin' put away a cheeseburger and fries. That was the best chicken I have ever eaten. I'm actually suprised that my first inclination wasn't to eat a tripple burger and fries! Maybe I'm seeing the light at the end of this tunnel. :tt1: Hope everyone else is doing well. We are almost there!!
  17. I just read "Before & After, Living and Eating Well after Weight Loss Surgery".. it even comes with recipes. Very good insightful read. It's basically a journey of a woman that had it done. (Her's was RNY though!)
  18. Actually since I've never had salsa before (that picky thing again) i just picked up Kroger brand Salsa and went with that. It wasn't exactly what was on the label, but I figured I wouldn't know anyway!
  19. so many reasons!! Mostly, the three little girls I have. 11, 10 and 7. :smile2:
  20. Awesome graphic job!! Starting day 5 of the pre-diet. 5, that means I'm half way through it! who-hoo. I have to work today and hope I don't go brain dead like I did Wednesday. I'm thinking I didn't have enough protein and that just really worked problems with my brain function. Hope everyone has a great day! It's snowing here so hopefully it won't be a full day at work.
  21. ROFL, I think I hurt myself laughing over that line!!
  22. Whoo hoo! Just finished day 4 of the liquids. And on that note, I'm going to bed. Night all!
