I cheated and I'm scared now. :/
So I have to be POST surgery to have an opinion? That's pretty darn short sided of a comment to make (twice). I don't recall there being ANY stipulations in place to be able to have an opinion. Thank goodness that's "all you have to say". Good day.

I cheated and I'm scared now. :/
actually that was my mistake, so please excuse me. I forgot a word which would have made it read: I knew I would PROBABLY get... again, my mistake. I didn't intend to mean you had flamed me.

I cheated and I'm scared now. :/
I totally understand that. However, I was pointing out that 2 days left is 2 days, not 14, not 10. I didn't intend to shake my finger at her, I did intend for her to examine the situation. And actually yes, I do believe it is a small indicator of what's to come. I knew I'd get flamed for that remark, but I do stand by it.

confused
my only question would be... "Do YOU want this?" .. if so, proceed. If you are still questioning, then by all means continue your research. If no, then you have your answer. :willy_nilly: Good luck to you in whatever YOU decide.

Actually, I would be worried. Not so much of what you ate, but that you couldn't hold out your last two days until mushies. Caving in this early, what does that say about how you'll do six months from now? A little of this.. a little of that? I don't intend for this to come across mean.. more of a wake up call. Stick to your program and you will be successful. I have faith in you :willy_nilly:

liquid diet
I would highly recommend NOT cheating. It's only a few days of your life.. you'll live through it. Besides.. cheating is what got most of us in this place to begin with. It is my surgeons understanding that the liquid diet beforehand shrinks your liver to make it easier to get the band placed. Some surgeons will NOT do the surgery if they open you up and you have not followed their orders. I wouldn't want to risk the chance of not getting the surgery just because I couldn't follow instructions for such a short period of time.

I am so lost and overwhelmed!
You've been banded two days.. you shouldn't be picking up anything. As far as eating, do what your doctor recommends and consume something every hour. Did they mention adding Protein to what you do consume? that will keep you feeling fuller longer.

spouse sabotage!
Maybe he is doing what has always worked for him? Has he always "helped" you by bringing you food? Maybe he just needs a little education. My poor husband is trying his best and has broken down to just asking me what I want instead of trying to guess and making me mad at him.

Couch to 5k.....come join me!!
I'm a little bummed, I tried week 1, day 1 today. I got all the way up to the point where he said "you are half way" and nearly passed out due to shock. Granted, I have NEVER run before and I'm carrying 246 lbs (and 46E's).. but I am excited that I TRIED it and I won't be giving up. Apparently it is going to take me more than the 12 weeks, but I'm good with that. I will have to take time for my surgery in January.. but I have a goal. I will get there. Thanks everyone for posting some much needed inspiration here. It's helping!!

Gaining weight to so insurance will pay for Lap Band
wow.. do you guys see what you are being brought into? The poster asked a question.. she didn't ask what YOUR opinion on her having the surgery was. sheesh. If you are really that upset about our healthcare system, then do something about it.. or shut up. I seriously hope you guys vote... cause if you don't, you have no right to open your mouth. If all you are going to do is sit on your butt at your computer and whine that she's ripping off the American people, take a gander at our government.. you think they are all honest hard working American citizens? Give me a break.

Gaining weight to so insurance will pay for Lap Band
Interesting double standard here. In THIS post, the original poster is acting foolish.. however in ANOTHER post.. that poster is being told what to do to accomplish more weight to qualify for surgery. Very odd indeed. I don't think it's right to have to gain weight to have surgery - MY PERSONAL OPINION, however, I'm not going to down you if you decide to do that. I know my first doctor told me to go eat and come back, personally that didn't sit right with me. Asking me to gain weight so he could do surgery sounded odd. I DID go in with every set of keys in my pockets, two cell phones, etc just trying to get my bmi to 40 instead of 38. Ok.. hopping off my soapbox now... NEXT!

Any January 2010 Bandsters????
As I said, my date is January 13. I'm already looking very hard at what I eat and why I eat it. In fact, I'd go tomorrow for this procedure if I could. I'm very excited and nervous at the same time. I have realized a lot of what I have done in the past that has added the weight on. I have also noticed that I have done very little to stop it since I kind of feel like I am on a countdown. I will follow my pre and post diet to a "t" - because failure is NOT an option. I guess I am not cracking the whip on myself for the last days (until my 10 day diet) because I know I am going to make life changes forever. I already have my treadmill ready and have picked out a home gym that I am hoping Santa will bring me. I am in therapy for bone spurs on my right heel so that I can USE the treadmill come January. Anyone else feeling like they are on a slippery slope?

Help! I feel that this whole thing isn't working for me right.....
May I make a suggestion.. It's not that you CAN eat something you KNOW you shouldn't.. it is that you SHOULDN"T eat something you know you SHOULDN"T. Sure.. rice, Pasta and bread CAN go do, but isn't that what got us in this place to begin with? You have to change your eating habits yourself. THey will not automatically change for you. The band is a tool to help you eat better, not to allow you to eat what you want as you did before. From my research, some people are able to eat regular foods and lose weight, some arn't. You must be in that "arn't" catageory. Find what works for your body and stick with it.

old bandster looking for support, direction, advice
you are only a failure if you give up... obviously you have not. You are able to recognize that what has sabataged the band so far, perhaps a talk with the psychologist would help? A food journal is an EXCELLENT idea. I use one and have taken to adding two more bits of information in addition to what I eat. I also write down WHY I ate it and what type of MOOD I am in at the time. It has helped me see a pattern that I am working to change. Good luck to you :wink2:

I missed my 1st fill
