  1. Fantastic!! You are such an inspiration to me!!
  2. I'm the body bugg queen. I log everything I eat (as well as quantity) online and it tells me how much I need to move to burn it off.
  3. I'm 5'9" and weigh 240 lbs. I keep getting told by every else (outside of my family and dr office) that I don't look "big enough" to have this surgery. It's very frustrating. I've been the same size roughly since highschool. I have several different health problems and the weight needs to come off. PCOS and fibro doesn't help at all. As far as the poll, honestly, if a persons doctor apprvoes them, then so be it.
  4. I'm finishing my Soup as I type. According to my bodybugg program, I still need 45 grams of Protein and have 300 calories left to spend. I really don't want another Protein shake, but I think that's in my near future (as in tonight.) Today hasn't been too bad. Hubby is cooking home made french fries for the kids, the grease smells soooo good BUT I know what grease taste like, I don't know how healthy feels. We can all do this! I am thinking of mine in terms of meals - instead of days. I can do anything for ONE meal. If I start thinking about not eating anything for 10 days.. I'm doomed.
  5. Just started mine today. I have about 800 calories and 90-100 grams of protein required each day. Mine is an all liquid diet, however there are limits on what I can eat. The doc gave me a sheet that includes pudding, jello, broth, cream soup, crystal light, and not much else. I can do this, it's only 10 days of my life and I'm taking each meal as it's own feat. I can't concentrate on the 10 days as a whole.
  6. I bought mine off Craigslist for $75.00. The previous owner received it as a gift and didn't like it. It came with the watch piece too. I also got their login (with Body Media's blessing) and logged in with my bugg. I only paid $78.00 for a year's online subscription. I'm loving my bugg.
  7. Do NOT them let put in rings. Go with a barbell to start. Mine almost rejected because the piercer put in too small rings. The barbells need to be wider than the swelling and not fit snug at all. They do also take about a year to heal completely. Another hint, get the sea salt from the grocery (in the seasonsing aisle) and add that to warm water to do the soaks with. NEVER miss a soak and don't put soap on them.
  8. I start mine the same day! My surgery day is the 13th. I work in retail, thankfully not food. It is hard though to go through the break room on my way to the floor - or to the offices. Have you decided on what type of band you will get? My dr lets us make that decision, although I haven't done that quite yet. Guess I better hurry up.
  9. I'm loving mine! I actually enjoy putting in my calories each day to see how everything "looks". Good luck with yours. BTW, I HIGHLY recommend the watch piece. It's fugly, BUT having the information right there in real time is fantastic.
  10. One will be considered your primary insurance.. the other your secondary.
  11. I guess I mean with the target information. Surely the liquid diet is going to put me WAY under the target. Should that part be edited?
  12. Hello all! I received my very own bodybugg for Christmas. I'm so excited about it. I have been wearing it for two days, and my surgery is coming up very fast now (January 13.) I'm wondering how I get it all set up for my liquid diet - or rather, how you set yours up. Any help would be appreciated.
  13. Sounds like a yeast infection. I get those too. I have had several c-sections and had 4 stains of strep in the incision after the first daughter. I stood up a week after surgery and my belly split wide open. Since then I get really bad yeast infections over that same skin. I believe it is the skin sitting on top of it and the moisture that gets trapped in there. When I dry it off after a shower, it's hot and sensitive. I really hate it. I'm not sure which doc to take that up with, I'll be watching the thread to see what others say. Good luck!
  14. It's this awesome little machine that sits on the back of your arm (strapped on of course) that monitors your exercise, sleep, and with the help of the online program, how much you eat, etc. It helps you to know if you have 200 steps left to goal or just where you are with your burning calories. Check it out online, they are SOOOO cool!
  15. Just HAD to post something today to see my ticker counting away the days! I'm SO excited. Husband bought me a Body Bugg for Christmas. Anyone else looked into those?
  16. I just got one tonight off of Craigslist. My husband drove to Lexington to pick it up for me. It came with the wireless uploader and the watch piece. I paid $75 for the entire thing and I am able to log in under the original owners information since they didn't use the entire 6 month trial. I'm very excited and can't wait to see how I do tomorrow. I would check around and see what you can find in your area. I would highly recommend craigslist
  17. Add me too if you'd like. I go January 13, so it's coming up soon. I'd love to have some support in place. It'd be nice to have several different dates so we know what's coming up and how to deal with it.
  18. The Amplified Wheybolic Extreme 60 in chocolate is awesome. 12 oz of Water mixed with 3 scoops gives you the following: Calories: 280 Total Fat: 1 gram Cholesterol: 15 mg Total Carbs: 7 grams Protein: 60 grams Calcium: 280 mgs Sodium: 300 mgs Potassium: 450 mg AND, it tastes great. I also have the strawberry but I have to lower the amount I put into it because it is very strong.
  19. That is also my favorite. I also agree with the other comments. I have not tried the strawberry yet, gonna grab that this weekend. Curious, I cannot find the same brand in unflavored, what are you using?
  20. that struck a cord with me too.. THank you. I needed that kick in the pants today.
  21. my nut actually recommended hummus. It's in my "manual" as an acceptable food
  22. My husband and I did the same thing when we were dating. I know you are time crunched, but how about joining the gym together? Maybe an evening walk together? We did both of these and wish we had stuck to them. Oh.. and congrats on both the weight loss and the engagement!
  23. We're getting closer!! Everyone getting excited? I have a 10 day liquid diet that will start on January 3. Anyone else have that requirement? I'm tickled that I am not required on a CLEAR liquid diet, the regular liquid is bad enough. I've decided that I'm going to think of it as a per meal kind of thing instead of the whole 10 day thing. I figure if I break it down, it's a more attainable goal. Whoo-Hoo! This is so very exciting!
  24. Haven't been banded yet, but it IS possible to have children with PCOS. In fact, it's possible to have several. I have three daughters, 11, 10 and 7.
  25. I'm very happy for you that you are receiving pm's, however that doesn't negate my opinion. Like it or not, everyone has one and is entitled to express that opinion. Interesting how you decided to call me out due to my opinion not matching yours. I also do not appreciate the smugness of your reply. This board is for support - and sometimes opinions will differ. Perhaps you should suggest that those of us who are "pre" surgery shouldn't be able to access the post surgery side because it sure seems like you have an issue wuth me having and voicing my opinion.
