  1. omg i don't wanna know this... i have my first fill scheduled for 7/22... i feel like i can feel the port on my stomach; but it feels much larger than what it is which is weird. does your doc not use xray during the fill? mine doesn't (i asked) however from a lot of what i understand most docs only poke knowing they have located the port hole. .makes me a bit nervous...
  2. you WILL be sleeping comfortably soon, i promise!
  3. and im glad because i can now eat pretty much anything... and would love some restriction. quick updates: my tummy is healing well which is great. i can now sleep in any ole position i want with no discomfort... however still feel the port on my stomach and a bunch of hard tissue. ..weird. my insulin requirements have gone way down which is SO awesome... i finally got brave enough to resume my metformin... was afraid of the huge pills getting stuck at first, but they are fine. im sure after my first fill that paranoia will return! will check in soon

  5. Had my first f/u appt today: my incisions look good, and other than that no new news. I have gone from 250lbs to 229.5 as of today which is pretty sweet. My 2 week f/u with the dieticion is this week as well.... Not sure when the whole fill business happens. We shall see. Oh yeah, and I ate too much cream of wheat today I think... My tummy is feeling a little too full like I totally pigged out. I ate 2 bowls (like a cup each) like 6 hours apart. Ok, all for now.

  11. :crying: hi everyone, here i am almost done with my two week week recovery time, and getting ready to return to work early next week. updates: i took the steri-strips off my small incisions and they look ok. i am leaving the big one for my doctor... today i decided that i NEEDED to eat something other than a liquid, and made myself some soft cooked scrambled egg beaters with a little melted cheese. i ate very slowly (it must have taken me 10 minutes to eat the tiny amount i cooked) and chewed about 12 gazillion times before swallowing. one word. :tt1:YUM. after endless liquids it was like a feast. so tasty. fullness: i am pleased to report that i did indeed become quite full. after putting down the plate, i plopped down on my back on my bed with a big smile and took a nap. OH! I'm no longer too sore to sleep in my normal position so that has been quite lovely. all for now. amh

this is a sad story... what's up with the doc? have you tried another? second opinion maybe? maybe the fills/unfills have not been monitored/adjusted closely enough? im sincerely sorry to hear of your issues.
  16. hey i was banded on 6/23... we should compare notes!
  17. i was just banded 6/23, and (tomorrow my one week anniversary i suppose). one of the best "meals" i have had: french onion soup (with all the spices and onions strained out of course) and this high protein pink lemonade drink "k20" made by kellogs. good luck
  18. you look wonderful!

  20. stop making my laugh; my post op belly aches!
  21. Thanks, I have definitely found that more comfortable in the past few nights.. Doesn't leave my husband many pillows but hey, that's A-Ok.
  22. Ok, well I came home after spending around $45 on stuff at the grocery store. I got 2 little things of meat baby food (I'm sure I will regret this), some cream of wheats, organic lowfat creamy soups-in-a-box, (broccoli? butternut squash/ tomato) a bunch of yogurts, puddings, and i think that just about does it. Have I ever spent so much on so little? I ripped open a boston creme pudding and devoured it right off the bat... Probably shoulda eaten it much slower. For dinner? While my husband and kids have fried chicken, cole slaw, and delicious pan sauted fiddle heads I will attempt to feast on a lovely liquid delight.

  24. Thanks, I will definitely let you know what happens- Hey, just out of curiousity since you were banded just before I was: what kind of stuff are you eating?
  25. Welp, Today my kids went to their first (rainy) day of Summer Camp, while I stayed home to do more recovering. I managed to sleep from around 9 to 2ish... and woke up sore. I can now sleep if very very careful on both sides of my body.... but the second I attempt to get into my favorite position (on my belly, arm under head, knee tucked around a pillow) I hurt...bad. I still don't feel "normal" and wonder if I've got a hernia near my port site. That whole area is extremely tender, sore, and firm. I guess I'll find out if something's wrong Wednesday, when I go in for my 8 day follow up. I keep reading about sliming and PBing.. I think I understand what sliming is... not so clear on the PBing. I keep picturing someone spreading Peanut Butter on toast and then remembering they can't have the toast, throwing it out the nearest open window. Can someone clarify? I am now on my way to the grocery store to see about some vanilla CIBs, and whatever delicious liquid delights catch my fancy. I'm craving meat. I want a huge medium rare filot with onions and mushrooms.... perhaps I'll find a baby food version?
