post op day 6 blues and pains

Welp, Today my kids went to their first (rainy) day of Summer Camp, while I stayed home to do more recovering. I managed to sleep from around 9 to 2ish... and woke up sore. I can now sleep if very very careful on both sides of my body.... but the second I attempt to get into my favorite position (on my belly, arm under head, knee tucked around a pillow) I hurt...bad.

I still don't feel "normal" and wonder if I've got a hernia near my port site. That whole area is extremely tender, sore, and firm. I guess I'll find out if something's wrong Wednesday, when I go in for my 8 day follow up.

I keep reading about sliming and PBing.. I think I understand what sliming is... not so clear on the PBing. I keep picturing someone spreading Peanut Butter on toast and then remembering they can't have the toast, throwing it out the nearest open window. Can someone clarify?

I am now on my way to the grocery store to see about some vanilla CIBs, and whatever delicious liquid delights catch my fancy. I'm craving meat. I want a huge medium rare filot with onions and mushrooms.... perhaps I'll find a baby food version?

LAP-BAND Patients

Hi there - I was banded on 6/17 and am still having some pain around the port incision. I've heard that this pain is pretty normal and it takes time to fully heal. The cut itself is pretty much closed and completely healed, it's actually dried and starting to peal now but under the incision is tender/sore and even more sore when I sneeze. My follow-up isnt until 7/15, so keep us posted if you find anything wrong with what you are going through. I suspect that it's normal and we just need to wait until its fully healed. Good luck!

Thanks, I will definitely let you know what happens- Hey, just out of curiousity since you were banded just before I was: what kind of stuff are you eating?

PBing is productive burping and you will know when it happens and try to avoid it at all costs lol! I got banded 2/6/09 and the port pain especially for sleeping lasted a couple weeks it's normal they had to cut through alot of muscle in there. Congrats on the begining of a fabuous journey!
