  1. I am tight enough I must say. Yesterday, I went for my fourth fill and asked NOT to have it. LOL I feel I am snug enough! I miss eating. Yes, I do. I can eat a small breakfast. I love my iced coffee in the morning so switching to hot is not going to happen. Even if I could feel more loose. I never have been a breakfast fan, so a little breakfast is fine for me. I am not hungry EVER. I need to force myself to eat. Lunch is about a half a cup of chili, or stew or eggplant parm, veggie quiche, egg, chicken salad all of which I make myself and protein packed. That is not a lot of food. I do drink water but probably not enough. I never drink anything with a meal. Dinner tonight was about four bites of a real crabmeat sub (no I do not eat the bread). I gave half of the sandwich to my husband. That made him so happy. I ate 6 potato chips and after about 30 minutes I was able to eat about four more bites a total of about a half a cup of crab total. I feel I am in a state of Band Limbo. I just miss eating a lot of food. Does anyone else feel that way? Everything I put in my mouth is for a reason to keep me alive. I am probably slowly consuming about 1,700 calories a day most days but not all days. I have been keeping track. I in no way eat low fat. But I do not eat muffins, cake or donuts, very little pasta or any bread for that matter. I am eating as healthily as I can to work with this tool. I have made many mistakes and I have slowly and painfully learned my lessons well. This is a band Limbo I have found myself in lately. I am happy and sad ;-( at the same time about where I am. Happy I have taken off 68 pounds in 19 weeks. I weighed in on Monday and I lost 8 pounds in 6 weeks. I have lost very steadily and my body has changed so much. I know I have about another 50 to go I am in no hurry, my body will not tolerate anything in a hurry. I eat slowly today and try to enjoy every bite I take. I plan for every meal. I savor the flavor in my mouth and the food texture on my tongue is important to me. I make sure I get enough fruit everyday. I even concentrate on my swallow. I am in band LIMBO and this is what has happened to me. I still read food magazines and watch the food network and work with food as a professional. I am making the most of what has helped me change for the better. I had another Low Blood pressure reading so I am closer to getting off the medicine. Which will make me even happier. My husband wants me to stop the sleep apnea machine but I am afraid too. He says I do not snore when I do not use it for short periods of time. I am thinking I may give it one night and see if I wake up with a head ache. I have not one head ache since I have been banded and I use to get headaches all the time. It could be because I do not eat crappy food any more. I read labels and set a better table all around me are healthier for it. I have not gone organic don't get me wrong I just prepare all my foods myself now and leave nothing to chance. No MSG.... Use to Make me sick. I love fresh anything. I am Happy with my banded life and am riding a bicycle outside. Nothing makes you feel better than having the crisp fresh fall air in your face as I ride. My next goal is to go skiing this winter so watch out everyone on the mountain I am gonna get the freshies. Those are the first tracks for you non skiers. Thanks for all your support. I read every blog who needs a support group at a hospital when we have this site. Best Wishes imaluckydog

  3. I have been banded since June 29 and I even drank my coffee the morning of my surgery. I was not banded until 4:40 in the afternoon. I was up at Five so I was fine. I drank coffee. But follow your doctors orders. You may need some help because you will not be able to lift the kiddies. Bending was hard for me for a few days. I work with children and was back to work in two weeks. Still could not lift them and bending over was hard. I have heard of people being 100% recovered in three days I have no Idea how they could do that. It took me two weeks to just feel better. Plan on a little help if you can manage that. The family will all eat better you will need to make good food choices so the kids eat what you eat. My husband is in the best health now and we both eat better, He can eat way more than I can. I have had three fills and I am supposed to get another on Monday BUT I may not I have been very tight since my last fill. I just want you to know this is the best thing I ever did for myself. I have lost 60+ pounds since. I am now a size 14 and I have a life. Best wishes and keep us posted. imaluckydog Kathy
  4. I did not feel much restriction after my first fill. I have had three now and let me tell you, I am going for a check up on Monday and NO WAY will I let them give me a fill. After the third one I can only eat about a half a cup if that. It is hard to keep it all down. Do not rush it. Enjoy the fact you can eat I am starting to wonder if I need an un-fill? I just seem tighter everyday. I do not know why either. I am most tight in the morning and breakfast is about 10:00-am. Then a light lunch at noon, small dinner at 6:30. I miss eating food and I miss eating lots of it. I am trying to be happy but it is hard when my food always feels like it is in my throat and I do not know if it will come up or go down so I wait. imaluckydog and Just remembering how nice it was after my first fill and I could still eat. So enjoy where you are Best wishes imaluckydog

Yup, Yup, Yup, I LOVE MY BAND. Banded June 29 best darn thing I ever did for myself. I have been full and have felt satisfaction since day one. I wake up with a smile on my FACE and go to bed with a bigger smile on my FACE. I wake up lighter and on my toes and my knees do not hurt any more. I have lost 60+ pounds I swear it melts off me at night. I am doing light exercises because that is the rule. I do about 1 hour a day. After 3 fills I do not eat a lot. I make good food choices and vary my choices so I do not get bored. I would not say it has been too too hard. I must say I miss the chow downs and the amounts of food I used to consume. I just love how I look now more. Best wishes to everyone and I still learn so much on this site. imaluckydog
  6. I did not feel too too much difference after the first fill. But I kept that in my mind and knew that might happen so I did not go crazy with the food. Now the second fill was another story for me!!! Four to five days after my fill I was like OMG I can't eat anything. So go real slow and chew, chew, chew to work with the band. I usually say to beat the band! Anyway I have had my third fill and again on the fourth and Fifth day I was WOW this band is working. I had my third fill almost six weeks ago and I am due for one on Nov 9. Well I am going to ask NOT to get one. I can hardly eat a half a cup of any food at any one time. I have to make excellent food choices or I get in food trouble. Best wishes and I am sure all will go well. Work with the band and it will work for you. I was banded June 29 and I have lost 60+ pounds. imaluckydog
  7. Hi everyone, I use a lot of Voiceomt's recipes. I love the Lasagna one I use eggplant instead of noodles and roast eggplant in the oven until tender no frying or breading for me. Build it in small round portions. Freezes very well. I use a meat sauce and a high protein cheese it all goes down well. I also use zucchini same way. Wendy's Chili is great with the cold weather on us. I have even had American Chop Suey, not my favorite I have all the recipes if you want just let me know. I know my weight has slowed way down as well my clothes just fit now and even some mornings feel tight huh!! I will get weighed on the 9th of the month. Not sure I will take another fill after three fills I have been tight morning, noon and night. I have had a few PB's but not many. I have a fear of the overfill syndrome!! I want to know if anyone uses a body cream for the skin all over to help it get it back into shape or am I just looking at possible surgery down the road???? Lots of Love and Happy Days ahead my LB family. imaluckydog Kathy I think I will start tracking that sounds like a great idea. I have no idea how many calories I am eating
  8. You are doing GREAT. The food cravings will come and go. Find something to keep busy and refocus it will help. I am so glad to hear all is well. Best wishes to you;-) imaluckydog Kathy
  9. Hi I was banded the day after you;-) We are like band buddies. Sounds like it has been hard on you, having to go back to the hospital and all. It must have been pretty darn uncomfortable. You have lost 22 pounds and that is GREAT. Be proud of yourself. It is all about choices and the choices that are made will work with this tool in one way or another. I have had a hard time and I have tried to make better choices most of the time. I have had three fills so far and I am finding myself so tight I do not eat much at all and what I do eat is protein first. I am still trying to get all the protein in. Before my first fill I could eat anything I wanted even the foods I am not supposed to have. I make better choices today and the band has worked well for me. I want to wish you well and lets keep in touch. I could use a band Buddy Best wishes imaluckydog Kathy
  10. Hi you will be able to keep it together. I know you will. I was also a mess, Before my surgery just like you I would cry at food commercials on TV. Yes, I do miss the food and how it was comfort to me. I even miss the extra large portions of food I used to eat. But I have found other ways to comfort myself now. I blog a lot and it is fun. I have found many people who are like me and we share the same tool the LB. I was banded in June. I have used the tool well and it has worked for me. My husband, 2 adult children and sister are the only people that know. I have also chosen not to tell everyone it is my business. I was nervous before the surgery but after I found this calm about me. Maybe due to the fact I do not eat any crappy food or soda and my body is healthy now. I have this calm I never had before. It may happen to you too. I have also lost 60 pounds and never thought I would be able to do that. Blogging helps me keep my paws out of the cookie jar too. Best wishes and let me know if you need any help? imaluckydog Kathy

I have had three fills and the fill does not register with my body until 4 to 5 days after the fill. I did not notice much change after my first fill. But the second and third I did feel restriction on the 4 or 5th day after the fill. I have so much tightness now I may not get another fill on Nov. 5th when I am due back for a Happy Visit. Fills are easy and not a problem Best wishes. imaluckydog

You have friends here. We all started at some point. I have an interesting story. I ended up having my surgery a month early due to a cancelation and I was ready and waiting. When I got a call can you have your surgery on Monday when it was a Friday. I sorta freaked out but I said YES. That was back in June. I was banded on June 29 and my life has changed so much. Not to mention my body went from a size 24++ to a 16 regular. I am down 60+ pounds and I will get weighed on Nov 5. I do not own a scale because I would sleep on it. Anyway I am a normal large size and was told I could not buy my size on this side of the store any more. That was so cool, I cried in the dressing room. This tool has made me make better food choices and I have so many friends who have helped me every step of the way. Even from the first day when I knew I was approved for July date but since it was moved up I need to create my own destiny I got support here on this site from friends who said you can make this happen. I have never been a blogger and look at me now. It also helps me keep my paws out of the cookie jar. BEST WISHES on your journey. imaluckydog
  13. Hi, Sounds like you are on the UP SWING!!!! Yay for you.. Keep on moving. The good attitude will help you survive this. It has been rather traumatic on your body remember. The activity will help and eating the candy will not. I already made that mistake. The pill thing stinks I guess I had liquid meds when I left the hospital. Just take them one at a time so they do not all pile up. Keep blogging it is so helpful and many of us your LB family can so relate we have all been there and done that. I would not be where I am today if did not have my LB friends and family posting and commenting on my blogs. Best wishes and keep doing all that is recommended as this tool is so amazing. imaluckydog
  14. Hi You are doing GREAT!! I am Proud of you my friend. I have not had a soda I used to love Fresca. I have not had one since June 29 I missed it for a while but now I do not even think about them. Big company's loss and my health gain yippeee. I have been banded since June 29 and I wake up every morning with a smile on my face and sleep like a baby. I have lost 60+ pounds and I will get weighed on Nov 5. I have had three fills and I am not sure if I will take another just yet. I am rather tight but in a GOOD way. I do miss the old comfort food and the cravings have stopped and I do not feel hungry so I must force myself to eat on a regular schedule. Best wishes to you sounds like you are making good choices and that is how this tool works for me. imaluckydog

It was a good three weeks before I felt better. I also had purple sores around each incision, they were also sore for a long time and ugly too. For me the one under my Bra in the front was the worst. I am not able to find where the holes were now. I remember being swollen for a long time and that did not feel good either. YES it will get better but for me it did take a long time. Best wishes and feel better soon. I am down 60+ pounds since June 29. Take care imaluckydog
  16. This is why I love YOU!!!! You just know how to make my day Happier. Happy Halloween to everyone, I will not be eating a ton of candy this year my friends. I am very tight and Happy that way. I'm going to Give it all away. Best wishes imaluckydog
  17. I need a GOAL!!! I am going to the Dr. on Nov 5. I am going to talk about this. It has been on my mind, like many other topics. I may be at that point and may not want another fill just yet. I would love to say I lost 100 pounds but not sure I will ever do that. I am feeling good in my body these days. Best wishes everyone. imaluckydog Kathy

I stopped drinking FRESCA soda and I do not drink any other soda it is my choice. I feel better. I drink Iced coffee every morning of my life I even had a sip the morning of my surgery. Did not make a difference as I was not operated on until 4 pm in the afternoon and I had the coffee at 5 am. I can eat anything I want in moderation. I do not like how pasta makes me feel. I have eaten rice and sushi. You will find what works for you. I have lost 60+ pounds since June 29. I feel great and have so much energy now. Best thing I ever did for myself. It is a great weight loss tool. I have lost every time I get in the scale. I only get weighed every 5 to 6 weeks at my fill visits. Best wishes and keep asking questions. imaluckydog

  20. Wow you should take up blogging!! You are GOOD.... LauraKey you are such an inspiration 80 pound, Yayy for you! imaluckydog and have lost 60+ since June 29. It is a challenge of choices and decisions everyday for me. I do well but I also make poor choices and must suffer. Best wishes and can't wait to hear more. imaluckydog Kathy
  21. I am so happy I just read this post!!!! I just want to run and clean my closet too, you are an inspiration. It makes me so HAPPY to know I too can feel just like you. Best wishes you have a great day. imaluckydog I would rather have snow it is raining here.
  22. You two are just hysterical. I cannot stop cracking up. ;-) I have seen the last one before and it never had much meaning. Now, how ever I can so relate..... I need to go buy candy I forgot all about it and it is right around the corner. Thanks for the chuckles you both made my rainy day a bit BRIGHTER imaluckydog and got the flu shot today

  25. Hi BG, I think I know this limbo well. I just entered it in the last couple of weeks and could not put a NAME to it. Great job I like this.... I do not remember Bandster Hall as being that bad for me. I have lost steadily along the LB journey. I am finding it harder to sleep lately. I am not able to eat much at all. I miss eating the way I did. I am mourning the loss of a chow down and having food make me feel good and comfortable. Eating for me these days is a necessity that will keep me alive. I have no pleasure in it and I know the LB rules and know what I need. I am in LIMBO. I am NOT complaining don't get me wrong I have absolutely nothing to complain about. This journey has been the BEST and I would do it all over in a heart beat. I am feeling the LIMBO today. So I will just keep on, keepin' on I will go with the flo and eat the meals and do what I have to do. But at least I know where I stand. I feel and hear you Girl Friend, LIMBO loud and clear. I am going to have a GREAT day I hope you do too. I like feeling normal even if I am in LIMBO. Thanks you are the best. imaluckydog too
