Do not worry it is not worth the effort it takes. You will be able to eat plenty. Make Good choices and do not drink with meals and you will feel fuller longer. The 1/2 cup is just someone else's measurements. Do not take that to heart. I ate a ton and lost a lot before my third fill. After my third fill I still lost but I was way more restricted in the amount I could eat it all happened very gradually. Enjoy your journey I am so Happy I have. imaluckydog
  2. I agree the best thing is now you have people you can share with that will not judge you and will support you. It sounds like they are interested in helping you with food choices as well. I have the band and when I visit me two young adults at school I have to make wise choices. I am in the food industry and feel talking to the food service director along with a nurse will also be supportive. Keeping in mind the protein first. These people want to please so you took the first step to help yourself. Good luck and Best wishes on your journey. It sure is not easy for any of us. You should not have to spend any extra money on groceries if you are already paying for a meal plan and these meals plans must accommodate your health needs. Hope all goes well. imluckydog

  8. Thank you I am feeling a lot better now a few calls to Dr.'s and some imodium, lots of fluids has helped. These things just need to work themselves out. It has been the first time I have felt under the weather since June 29,2009 so I am a healthy camper. I almost thought I had the flu but thank goodness I do not. I am already feeling much better. Hope all is well with you and best wishes. imaluckydog

  10. Wow I woke up with dry heaves this morning too!!! Diarrhea yuck as well. I was feeling dehydrated and started drinking water made me more sick, I am drinking Gatorade now and I am feel a little better. But not much better. Oh bother, I have not ever been sick yet with my band. I do not have a temp so I am hoping it may just be a little bug. It will be a long ride home if I am sick in the car. We are bringing kids back to college this week end. I hope this does not last long and I sure as heck do not want to go to the hospital. I sure would have a fill removed if it would make me feel better. They would fill you right up again when you feel better. Best wishes for a speedy recovery. imaluckydog
  11. Hi can you tell me what Buffalo Chicken Dip is and how to make it? Is it spicy? Sounds like it has a lot of protein. I would also like the recipe for the lemon cheese pudding if you have the time. Thank you and sound like you are doing well. Best wishes imaluckydog

I am full all the time. I have had three fills and have refused the last two. I get the right amount of protein I need and the scale has been going the best direction DOWN. I cannot eat a lot of food. It also takes me three times as long to eat. I am still enjoying my journey so much and the best thing is going to the store to buy new clothes and I am not even an extra large any more it is soooo GREAT. imaluckydog
  13. Keep up the great work. Best wishes on your happy journey it is so amazing this trip we are on. I am enjoying every moment. imaluckydog

Hey what a nice and Happy Blog Thank You!! I am skiing now that was my goal. I was banded June 29th and I have lost over 77 lbs. Not bad for an old dog like myself. Keeping my paws out of the cookie jar has been hard for me. But setting small goals has helped me get to my big goal. I am also glad I went and had this done. They asked me to go early, an entire month and I was ready! I love dancing and I will be doing that soon too. I am working on my headband now and buying now clothes is such a hoot. I am not even an extra large any more... That is such a shock to me! I am having so much fun living the good life. Enjoy the journey and the complements are so worth everyone of them enjoy....Best wishes imaHAPPYluckydog
  15. I am tired of people coming up to me and saying "wow you better not lose too much more weight it's not healthy" How do they know what is healthy for me!!! Best wishes imaluckydog

  17. I do Love your Blog as always, Thank you. My paws have been out of the cookie jar for months now but I sure do miss my over dose on holiday cookies! Thanks for the memories. It was my husbands birthday dinner last night and he wanted a cheese cake it had this turtle nut chocolate topping I should have taken a picture. OMG 1/2 cake still left was making me crazy. Long story short, I sent it over to the daughters boy friends house. It's gone and now I do not have to take a lick a poke or a smidge every time I walk by it. It's GONE!! Funny I am still thinking about it and it is 5 am the next day. Have a great day. Here is to my better choices today and my new HEADBAND LOL going skiing tonight wish me luck. imaluckydog

I did not feel much restriction until my third fill. The third fill did me in and this is where I have been forever, well at least a few months now. No more fills for me for a while. Living, Loving, Life with LB. Best thing I ever chose to do for myself. imaluckydog

Great Blog. I also have what I call an eating disorder!! I never really wanted to admit that to anyone but it is so true. I have come to understand many of the reasons I used to eat. Some are the same as yours. It is such an amazing journey this LB one and I am so glad I found this tool it has saved my life. Keep blogging and Best wishes to you on your journey. imaluckydog
  20. Keep up the excellent work this is helping others as well. Thanks for posting. I may just have to try that Ricotta cheese and jello thingy does it have to refrigerate long before serving? Do you add milk or water? Sounds like a good protein source. I just love the Cabot products and Fage Greek Yogurt is great too. Best wishes imaluckydog
  21. My recovery was a lot longer than most and I had some bruising at my port site. I would say almost 4 weeks until I was feeling myself. To help with the hunger getting the protein is very key. It always helped me with physical hunger. Head hunger is emotional and that may require the use of a headband and power of positive thinking and wise choices about food. Best wishes imaluckydog
  22. Getting off the soda was so key for me too. It caused so much havoc with my digestive system. I never new..... I have not had any soda since June 29,09 and going strong. I love to make better choices today. Keep up the great work and charting your proteins and foods is excellent. Best wishes imaluckydog
  23. I have many head bands of which you speak. The one that fits me the best is the one I wear with my head held high and proud that I made this decision to have the LB done. The best choice I have ever made for myself. I read your blog last night you always make my day. I always read something that is true to my own journey and real about our new life situation. Thanks BG for sharing. I am ready to face a new day with healthy choices and new and exciting activities for me to engage in. I feel so much better. The LB and Head band has saved my life. Life is Good. Best wishes to all. imaluckydog
  24. I ended up getting my band a month earlier. It was and is way better than I ever thought it would be. I am very happy with the way I am working with my band. It is a nice tool and the best one I have ever used for weight loss. Best wishes on your journey. imaluckydog
