  1. I flew 2 weeks after being banded. They let me bring one closed liquid protein drink on board plane had to buy drinks when I got to my destination. They are very strict do not plan to bring to much you will have to throw it away. I was fine flying I had no problems with my band. Stay hydrated that is all.

Happy travels and best wishes imaluckydog

  2. Sounds like you are doing a fabulous job with your tool. I loved reading your blog where you said "I'm not using my mouth as a garbage disposal" I Think that is a great statement and I need to remember that! Keep up the great work you are an inspiration to all who read your blog. Best wishes imaluckydog

  3. I had the same thing happen to me. I was to have my surgery on July 29, 2009, and it got moved up because I was ready and they had an earlier appointment. My insurance had not come thru yet either. I was on phone with the hospital people everyday. It turns out I was approved the day of my surgery that morning of June 27, 2009.

Keep the faith I hope it all works out for you. Best wishes imaluckydog

  5. This tool will start when you start to work with it. Eat less...Drink water slowly. First get your head on properly and cop a positive attitude that you want this to work for you!! Have your entire body, mind and soul in ready ACTION to this I mean every second of every day be ready. You must want to lose, you must think like a loser and you will be a loser. I have gained with this band it can be done YES you can gain. May I recommend you want to lose more than gain. You will feel so much better. I do know what I am taking about. I have lost 110 pounds and I just had my 2 year Bandversary. I feel really good now and my MOTO is to eat small to be small. Eat real food, not too much mostly plants, with protiens first. I am small today. Best wishes on your journey. imaluckydog

  6. what a great feeling! I cried when I could no longer get my size on that side of the store. I cried out loud and three sales people came in and said Honey you can't get your size on this side. I still like bringing in my clothes to try on in the larger womens side cuz it makes me feel good. Today is my 2 year Bandversary. I have never n=been hapier in my life. I love my lapband. Best wishes to everyone. imaluckydog

  7. You GO GIRRL, That is the way to do it!!

I am coming up on my 2 year Bandversary on June 29. I has been a amazing journey. I feel it is all in the attitude I have taken from the start. Keep your head in the game and play well with your band.

Even after 2 years of being banded, I must remember to chew, chew, chew, to beat the band and eat real slow. I take my time and enjoy my food more with every bite. I have made the decision to eat real foods, not too much, mostly plants with proteins first. I hardly ever eat anything out of a prepared package. It is more work but I am worth it.

I am having my “Nip and Tuck” on Monday and I feel like I am being banded again for the first time. All the nerves are back. I sure hope this goes as well as being banded did for me.

    Best wishes imaluckydog

  8. Bravo, I read your story and heard you loud and clear. Make the best choice and make it count! I have been at this for two years now and I am still learning. I had an Un-fill once just to see how I would feel if I could eat just a little more. Guess what! I started to gain, I even gain twenty pounds with the LB. I went back in for a fill and have made better and healthier choices with my food and physical activity. You are correct it is all about the choices we make. I was so mad at myself for gaining twenty pounds but I needed to do that to get me back on track. I have two children a boy 22 and a girl 21. Our beautiful Black Lab died the month I got my Lap band and I have been unable to have another pet. I miss her daily. I have kept off 110 pounds and wear a size 10/12. I am about five two and weighed 250 and a size 24 when I started this journey. I am a living proof that LB works if you take the time to work with your band. Best wishes on your journey. imaluckydog

  9. I enjoyed reading your bog and keep writing you are good at it!! Blogging helped me lose my weight.

If you write people will read! They may not comment but they do read!

If you write you will lose! More people who write tend to lose more weight, and keep it off!!

I was banded 2 years ago on June 29,2009. I would do it again. I am very happy ;-)

I have even gone back to re-read what I have written two years ago and people will comment because they take the time to read thru what you write. It helps you organize your thoughts and you are able to set goals. You may even follow other bloggers like I have, they become friends.

Writing also helps others who read because what you say may or may not help others identify with themselves. Writing is so healthy for you, when I started out I read and wrote almost everyday on this site. Making a comment to others also validates you, keep it positive and meaningful, you have something to say and you are worth saying it.

I have kept off 110 pounds and I will be having my Nip and Tuck on Monday June 27,2011.

I am scared to death. I know I want this extra skin gone.

Like you said this is a journey and we are all on a path and I have been know to say I am creating my own destiny everyday. Best wishes on your journey. imaluckydog

  10. I am going for my Pre-Op appointments tomorrow. Two weeks from my Nip and Tuck!

I watched all the procedures on youtube. Well, I am not sure I am ready for all this but it's a good thing I will be put under!!!!

I am just not going to think too much about it and just show up!!!

I know six weeks after I will be feeling myself again. Getting it all done at once is scary.

Thanks for all the kind words, you are my LB family.

    Best wishes imaluckydog xoxoxoxoxox

  11. I am back to eating small to be small. I had to have a large un fill and I gained some weight. Yes, I let myself eat all the wrong foods and sliders too. I had great fun of it until I stepped back on the scale and almost had a heart attack. I gained 20 pounds in one month. I got back in to the Dr. office and had a fill. Now I get tight if I eat the wrong foods. I am keeping my foods clean and healthy and I feel so much better. I want to be small so I am going to continue to eat real foods, not too much and mostly plants with proteins this I can manage and feel good. Best wishes Imaluckydog to be losing again.

  12. Best wishes, everything will be fine, I was also scared. I was banded June 29,2009 and have lost 110 pounds. It has been an amazing adventure and journey to say the least. The most I can say is I love my band and I am a new and healthier person today. Follow all the rules and keep up with all of the appointments. Keep blogging it help get the weight off. Good luck imaluckydog :-)

  13. Livin' the life!!!! I just love it. We are coming up on our two year Bandversary OMG I can hardly believe it. You have worked so hard and it has paid off. I am skiing again and I should post another blog but this site is so confusing. I do not seem to have the time to figure it out. I love reading your posts so helpful and informative. Yes, you do look amazing!! Best wishes my band buddy. imaluckydog

  14. Hi I was also banded in June of 09. We are band buddies. Yes, we all need support. Keep blogging that is one way to stay in touch with others that have what we have. It can be a struggle and if the choices in food and beverages are not the best it can be a harder struggle.

I eat real food not too much, mostly plants with good quality proteins first. I do not drink while eating. I also limit alcohol it has too many calories and is harder to burn off. I will have an occasional Iced Milk Shake as a splurge.

Iced Cream has too much fat and does not agree with my band. I have also had a few issues with chocolate even though I think it is medicine.

It takes time to figure it all out, it is more or less trial and operator error at least that is how I see it.

I have lost 110 pounds and have stayed at the same weight now for five months. That is a first in my lifetime. I am happy and all my clothes fit. I just need to keep reminding myself to keep making the best choices for me and my band everyday.

If you need help I may be able to offer it. I am a June band buddy. Wishing you all the Best imaluckydog
