  1. I somehow imagine it would never make it through customs -- it would "mysteriously" disappear ... and you might get requests for more. :001_tongue:
  2. Tell me more about this - was it painful - how did they do it - etc - why did they do it? Wondering if I could have that done or if I need it.
  3. I tried the high protein Ensure today -- it's not sweet at all and not very thick either -- I actually was able to drink it - first thing I've found since surgery that I could tolerate. I got the banana shake; however I want to try the chocolate and vanilla too ... they're a little pricey - I paid $9.99 for 6 cans - but heck at this point, it's protein -- 12 g per can I think -- I don't like the carbs (31 g) but I need the protein. It's 230 calories.
  4. The hospital standards in Mexicali FAR EXCEED those in the US - Dr. Aceves has performed over 600 (probably over 700 by now) sleeves and has had no leaks - he performs 3 leak tests and you stay in the hospital 3 nights. The response from the nursing staff is unbelievable - you push the button and they are in your room in less than a minute. Given the choice between having my insurance pay 100% of my surgery and self-paying and going to Dr. Aceves, I'd chose Dr. Aceves.
  5. I'll pick up some information on it when I see my GYN next month - he has been certified to perform the 'surgery' and has been doing it in his office recently -- I'll let you all know what it is called and more information at that time -- I think my appt. is the 2nd week of August.
  6. You should be fine with your Vitamins - especially since you're not having any side effects. As for the iron supp - I didn't recall reading that and have not been taking anything other than my prescription medications since surgery - and I still cut them in half. I am going to try incorporating some vitamins this weekend and see how I feel.
  7. I told her the exact same thing Tiffy --
  8. No not a hospitalization thank goodness, just a pain in the butt -- I'm finally learning to work around it -- or with it -- I'm sure you won't have any problems; however, I understand you have to consider worse-case scenario.
  9. It doesn't matter what time you get in - I'll be there to pick you up. As for Friday- Bob works from home so am sure he could take a day off and play tour guide or something ... I could probably work extra hours M T W Th and take off early on Friday too ... we'd figure it all out.
  10. I am curious as well Tiffany to hear what you mean.
  11. MacMadame had surgery by Dr. Cirangle.
  12. I didn't end up in the hospital. The only time I was in the hospital was for my surgery with Dr. Aceves. He is a great surgeon and very thorough. To my knowledge he has never had any leaks. I doubt that you would have any problems; that said, I believe if you get back home and have problems and go to the ER then your insurance should cover any complications. I can't be 100% certain, but I am relatively sure.
  13. Tell him to make it a permanent break - if he can't believe you, knowing you as he does, then he's not the man for you -- let it go and move on Daisy ... you don't need someone like that in your life to bring you down - you're better off alone and you will find the right person ... so let him go.
  14. Congratulations Suzanne -- your success story inspires me so much. Thank you.
  15. WELCOME Reddress - glad you decided to come out in public --LOL What are you referring to as possible liability?
  16. I read on another site to put fishing weights or quarters in your pockets or sewn to the inside of your pants or shirt to add extra weight -- or in your shoes - generally they never ask you to remove your shoes -- silly the things one has to do to get help to have a healthier lifestyle. Good luck And welcome to the board - happy to have you!
  17. NOW you've got it all figured out!!:sneaky2:
  18. Glad to see you back posting Tiffygirl!!! HUGS VA
  19. I want to be able to buy matching bras and panties! And smaller clothes too -
  20. The offer to come to LV still stands -- Bearded is a professional photographer and there are lots of great areas to takes pics -- and we can do sexy too!
  21. Bearded says "she's cute" ... however, the photographer in him says he wouldn't use that picture and the reasons being you are facing the camera straighton - you should always be at about a 30 degree angle; which the way you are posed gives you no depth making you look wider than you actually are. Everything else is good - but he thinks you are cute! I'd tell Bill you're going to start dating others - and why - and move forward.
  22. WOW - How scary -- lucky you lived close and were able to get to Mexicali w/o any problems ... I get so little protein in that when I can eat, I eat protein. Thanks for the head's up though - appreciate it -- and even more glad that you're okay!
  23. Thanks for asking Shanda - I'm still having issues with the spasming - however, I'm learning to start the morning out with something warm and then just nibble or sip throughout the rest of the day -- also it takes me a good hour to eat. I'm doing a bit better with getting my Protein in; however, I'm no where near 60-70 grams. I'm going to get some ensure - Rosey says it's not overly sweet - in fact, very bland - so I will give it a shot for protein. It's very frustrating; however, it appears I'll have to deal with it for awhile, so will do the best that I can. Lucky you getting a 4-week vacation!!!
  24. Daisy - From a male's perspective - Bearded says: First he wants to know if your BF is a FWB or are you in a committed relationship? That being said ... if he received a photo from someone and was really interested, he would shoot an email back within a day. If it was someone he was possibly interested in, it would take him 2 or 3 days to get back. But DO NOT send another email -- it makes you appear desperate - WHICH YOU ARE NOT. So his advice would be NOT TO EMAIL HIM AGAIN and move on unless you hear from him. I agree with Bearded - give him a few days to contact you and if you don't hear from him, move on - if you contact him, you appear desperate and almost begging -- you're neither - The dating game sucks doesn't it?
  25. If PTO time hadn't been an issue for me, I probably would have taken 2 full weeks off instead of having surgery on Friday and returning the following Friday. I think it would have given my body more time to adjust to having had surgery and the change in eating styles, etc. That said, I also have a desk job that doesn't require any long hours or OT unless I so choose (or we're in trial). I think if you can take 4 weeks off paid, then go for it, given the type of job you do. Congrats Shanda on getting your surgery date.
