  1. You might want to check with Gaby or someone at Dr. A's office- however, that is what I was told -- and someone else on here posted the same thing. I'm sure you don't want to take like HUGE gulps but I'm also sure that once you can drink more at a time it's perfectly okay. I'll be glad when I get to that point - I'm so very tired of not being able to drink more than little sips .. this spasm thing is a real PITA!:001_smile:
  2. Do they subside after you "feed" them? If so that's probably what it is ... I've just begun to experience true hunger pains and it's definitely something that grabs your attention.
  3. I haven't been a fan of any of the nectar samples, so I may have to purchase some different Crystal Light flavors to mix with them and see if that makes a difference. Bearded seems to be able to drink them with no trouble at all, so at least the samples won't be going to waste; in fact, I may need to order some more. Part of my problem is that I am still not able to drink very much at one time - just sips so it makes it tough to get much down -- popsicles are better as they just trickle down and don't seem to initiate a spasm. Has anyone made the nectar Protein drinks into popsicles? I bought a popsicle form - makes 10 at a time - so I may have to try that and see if I can get my protein in that way. I'll let you know.
  4. Oh please ... let's not EVEN go there .. you'll get Bearded started and I have to live with him ... :001_smile:
  5. Sorry Alicia - I wish I could help; however, I know nothing about appeals with an insurance company and wouldn't even know where to start ... somebody on here recently prepared an appeal - maybe she can help you at least know where to get started? Hope you find a way. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

I would have to agree with you Susan!
  7. It's great - comes with it's own tall cup (almost like a milkshake machine) only it's clear - and mine has 2 speeds -- you just put your "stuff" in there, put the stick blender in (be sure it's touching the bottom) and turn it on -- I even made "mashed" potatoes that way .... easy to clean up, too and takes up barely any space on your countertop.
  8. Well if you can't get your insurance to cover it, there's always Dr. Aceves in Mexicali - his regular price is $9500 for a sleeve, not sure what a revision price is; others will know. He's absolutely fantastic.
  9. No problem - Eyfura and I tried had to have dinner - we shared - however neither of us could eat much so we figured maybe Dad would like to eat too -- the tiny bit of chicken that I did have was wonderful ... and I would have loved to have had the salad - it looked so fresh!
  10. I just thought the magic bullet took up too much room either on the counter or in the cabinet and we have a very small kitchen with little counterspace, so it wasn't the best appliance for me. The Stick blender is the best by far.
  11. The 2oz every 15 minutes was for the first 3 days only - at least that is what I was told.
  12. I'm lactose intolerant and never have had any trouble with yogurt. I bought Campbells cheddar potatoe soup and it was great. I also liked the tomato soup and the cream of chicken too.
  13. Thanks for sharing -- I love a good bargain :hurray:
  14. I am one of those that is taking longer to heal - however, I was not a revision - and my surgeon assures me the issues I am having will go away; however it may take up to 6 months -- I can live with that as long as I know it will go away. My surgeon said I was in the 1% of patients who have any complications -- and I wouldn't really call it a complication; just slower to heal.
  15. I think early on it's because coffee is considered a natural diuretic and you need to stay hydrated. I've been drinking coffee (about 1/2 cup) for a few weeks now and I'm doing fine. I know another on this site that started drinking coffee on day 6 following surgery.

By now you've figured it out though! Bearded is a dirty old man btw!
  17. Susan - we have NO chocolate in our house - so nothing to hide ... he's eating popsicles like crazy though ... hmmmm ...and substitution is up to it if he catches it early in the evening ...
  18. Welcome Barb - you'll love us - we're crazy - and modest too! If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask! Congrats on your surgery date!
  19. Rosey - SO HAPPY to see you post - I was wondering how you were doing. I had that itching too - it wasn't fun. Glad to hear you're doing well -- the more Protein you can get in, the more energy you will have ... I am 4 weeks post-op and still have trouble getting in all my protein - on the days I get in more protein, the better I feel. So just try, try and try some more. Keep us posted on your progress and ask any questions you have. Oh yeah - tell DAD I said HI! (I'm sure he probably thinks I'm a bit crazy huh?) HUGS Susan
  20. 4 weeks for VSG recovery? Is your's going to be an open procedure? If not, I was only off work for 4 days after being released from the hospital (and i was in there 3 nights). If you hit quote - then type your response in the box that appears, then scroll down until you see the icons and then a box that reads "submit reply" and click on that, your message will appear with the message you quoted too. If you can't figure it out - no big deal - at least you know how to post!
  21. Mac and Jahut will be the best ones to answer the question about Protein and bulking up - they are both runners and Mac is training for a 1/2 Ironman ... Mac's surgeon was also Cirangle - and I know she thinks he's wonderful.
  22. Sounds as though you're doing great. I never got in my proteins on clears or fulls and I'm struggling on mushies - however, I have spasms, so at least I know why. Keep up the good work and keep us posted.
  23. Very intersting and makes total sense -- maybe because I'm always afraid of bad breath, I'm brush my teeth and keep mints (SF) handy all the time and so I haven't offended anyone (yet).
  24. This is a great size - can read it - that is what I use too ... www.vitalady.com and Linda posted this: "Someone from LBT posted this information a while back. I found it while surfing their threads. I called it last week and got 10 full serving packets (one of each flavor) for $9.99. Great way to see if you like it at all and which flavor(s) you prefer. The choices are a bit overwhelming. Also, it is one sample pack per person but you can order for different people in the same household." and Daisy posted this: Protein Sample Information (especially for pre-ops!) (If the link doesn't work go to the thread RATE YOUR LIQUIDS, page 5 and find Daisy's post - the link works from there)
  25. That would be awesome Penny -- if not after your surgery, then definitely in October - and November! Thanks for contributing to our economy Susan -- LOL ... if you and hubby make it back to Vegas, be sure and let us know - would love to meet you in real time too!
