B.C. Pills
I was told to stop by BC pills before surgery however, was not told I had to stay off of them afterwards -- my doc has me on them more or less for HRT and because I have really bad Pre-menstrual headaches (Bearded is 'fixed') ... I stopped mid pack and thought I would have a period, but I didn't - I don't take the placebo - I just take 3 weeks, and then start another package - so I never have a period ... I started back on them when I got home after my surgery and they seem to be just as effective.

Advice needed
I'm like you are Mac ... and I agree with you on TAR - it's really really good and it's not on as often as the others, so I actually look forward to it when it does come on. I LOVE watching HGTV, Discovery, Animal Planet, A&E, Intervention and First 48 ... I agree most of the stuff on the main channels isn't worth watching - although I will admit I won't miss Grey's Anatomy.

Anyone experience long bouts of nausea?
I think I'd have asked her, too, if she remembered the oath she took when she got her MD license ... HELLO!!!:001_tongue:

Anyone else have trouble with eggs on mushies?
TennJenn - I still have trouble with eggs -- scrambled that is; I tried poached and they go down very easy ... scrambled and poached are the only 2 ways I will eat eggs -- and they by far aren't my favorite food. I did the same thing with the refried Beans - taco sauce and sour cream - made them moister and a bit "thinner" so they went down easy - of course, it took me most of the day to eat the small container you get at Taco Bell. I forgot about the ricotta cheese eeryone talked about -- may have to give that a try - Bearded may like it too.

Sorry I've been MIA!
Sorry you had a rough go of it and glad to hear you may be on the mend ... As for the bathroom issues - not unusual to have the runs during the liquid phase - liquids in, liquids out. As for not going, I spoke to my surgeon about that as I lose track as to when I go ... he told me not to worry about it, since I was eating so little, I wouldn't go as often ... so I dont worry about it ... I'm trying to get in more Fiber now that I am able to eat a little more and that seems to have made a difference. Hope it all works out for you and you are feeling 100% soon!

First two weeks
Definitely SF popsicles - the crystal lite ones are awesome. The belly dancers may actually cause you symptomatic pain in your belly, so perhaps the stripper would be the better bet. You might want to get some dark chocolate M&Ms - you can suck on them and dark chocolate is good for you. Bearded says go for the stripper too - much more fun than the belly dancers.

Rosebud -- you going to be available that weekend that Daisy's here? You should join us one day! Not unless they'll let us pay for 1 plate and share :001_tt2: Or ... I've never seen a 3-for-1, but if one happens to appear it would be worth the $$ but otherwise, NO buffets in our future.

3 weeks out and eating everything in site
WOW -- I can't believe you can eat and drink that much or that you would even want too -- there is something going on and you need to get help and nip it in the bud right now -- not to mention the fact that as everyone else has said, you're jeopardizing yourself and your surgery. GET HELP NOW and contact your surgeon immediately. 16 lbs in one week - OMG I didn't even know that was possible.

Rate your liquids
SO ... I actually think I MIGHT have found a protein powder I can tolerate .... I took Syntrax Strawberry Mousse powder, added a small banana and about 3 strawvberries, water and mixed it with my stick blender ... it didn't taste that good as I used room temp water, so I stuck it in the freezer for a while and got it really cold and it was actually tolerable -- I drank almost all 20 oz throughout the day ... I have just a little left so I think I will try it tomorrow using the vanilla torte and see how that goes. So far that's the only one of all the Nectar/Syntrax samples I ordered that I have been able to tolerate ... Bearded seems to like all the other ones so it works out well!

Just hit Onederland!!
I'm right behind you Chancie -- I've got 29 lbs and I'll be there ... hopefully I'll get there before Thanksgiving ...I'm starting my workout next week so hoping the weight starts coming off again ... obsessive behaviour patterns ... I don't know anything about those ... YEAH RIGHT ... it is possible but not easy, you're right about that!

Do we always have to talk about the sleeve?
Is the $400 for top and bottom liner or just top? I would just be interested in the top liner.

WLS and Seniors
Mary - glad you've been able to eat and keep things down the past two days ... I hope you are right and this is the turning point for you. I love cat food patties too ... I might have to make some of them soon now that you mentioned them. Keep us posted on your progress!

biotin
Needless to say, this is not something Bearded and I agree on -- I take (or did before surgery) Flaxseed and Co-Q-10, Ester C (helps cut down on UTIs to which I am susceptible) and Cranberry. He thought I took too much and was crazy for doing so ... I didn't agree .. so we agreed to disagree...I will be glad when I am able to swallow those pills again.

Some are clueless
I haven't drank soft drinks in about 20 years and I don't miss them.

signs of leakage
Rosey - Did you eat something you weren't supposed to eat? If you're sticking with the full liquids, I doubt you have a leak; however, if you're that concerned about it, go see your doctor or go to the ER. It's possible you have the flu bug that so many of us seem to have had the past few weeks. You might also consider calling Gaby and talk to her about how you're feeling. Keep us posted. Tell you Dad I said "HI"

Reflections from a Fat Chick
Bearded and I laugh and joke about going out to dinner - figure we can order an appetizer and split it and that'll be our dinner ... pretty cheap dates ... LOL As for being brave or strong about only eating a few bites ... it's not either ... it's the thought being in pain or puking that keeps you from taking just one more bite. Carol you're lucky you don't suffer from anything painful if you overeat -- it's totally not pleasant.

Anyone experience long bouts of nausea?
Ruthi - hope it's nothing serious - be sure and let us know. I was going to call you in the morning, but I think I'll wait and call you tomorrow on my way home from work. Kauser - I think I'd find another doctor if your doctor wouldn't give you the time of day - that's just crazy! Glad to hear the tea made you feel better ... maybe it was the sugar! Keep drinking it if you're able to get it down and get yourself hydrated! Keep us posted on how you're doing!

To Revisioners: Updates on Progress Please...
Hi Alexa - I was a virgin sleever (wow, been a long time since I was a virgin ); however, I am 6 weeks out and have lost 30 lbs. I haven't lost anything the past week which is frustrating -- however, on a positive note, I haven't gained any weight either ... I'm just status quo. My spasming where Dr. Aceves repaired my hiatal hernia seems to be getting better - or I'm doing better working with it, one or the other. I, for the most part, have learned when I am full and when to stop -- sometimes, I try to force it ... just one more bite ... and then I'm miserable or I end up throwing it up and feel fine. You will love Dr. Aceves and his entire team - they are absolutely wonderful! I am glad our posts have helped you in making this journey.

Expectations during liq pre op diet???
I don't know if Tylenol will help or not -- I sure as heck would give it a try as the withdrawal headaches bite.
