  1. Maybe I just need to add back in my vitamins - Dr. Aceves had said wait until I'm on solid foods - and since Dr. Campos told me 4 more weeks of mushies, I hadn't added them back in yet -- I think I will start doing so gradually and see how I feel .. I hate having no energy and I want to start working out this week too!
  2. I am grateful for the fact that I haven't gained ... and I know from reading that everyone hits stalls ... Bearded on the other hand is going like a steam roller and is going to roll right on past me in another 4 lbs and he's only 2 weeks out as of Saturday and hasn't exactly been sticking to the full liquids diet. I keep telling myself it isn't a sprint, but a marathon and I'll get to the finish line in due time. Still is frustrating ... why is it men lose so much faster than women!!
  3. It must have been the gremlins lurking out there just waiting to sabotage you - they knew eventually you'd come for that bottle of water and wham - they attacked you and shoved that chocolate in your mouth before you knew what was going on ... shame on them! (Tell me, was it absolutely wonderful? I mean after you got over the shock of being attacked by a chocolate bar?) ... I doubt you'll go to hell for this ... however, you'd probably better be sure there's no more chocolate out there for the attack doesn't happen again! (For your own safety of course!)
  4. I can relate to that - I call it an occupational hazard - that is one of the reasons I didn't want to have surgery in LV -- I've worked medical malpractice for the past 6 years and seen the worst of the worst - from both sides - defense and plaintiffs - and it scared me to have surgery in LV... so I know where you are coming from!
  5. How long does the need for so much sleep last? I have never needed more than 5 hours of sleep in years; and since the surgery (6/12) I seem to need at least 8 hours - sometimes more. I went to bed last night at 10 and had my alarm set for 5:30 to get up and exercise -- there was no way - it was all I could do to hit the snooze button, let alone get up and start exercising! I HATE being so tired all the time and having no energy -- it's so unlike me-- I used to be go go go and now I have no energy for anything and have to push myself to do everything. Anyone have any idea how much longer I'm going to feel this way? :lol0::sleep0::yawn:
  6. They'll have all the colors of foundation available at the store - my guess is you'll use the same shade as me since we're both fairskinned -- I bought mine offline the first time and it came with 2 different shades - I mixed them and that's how I determined what shade to buy -- don't worry - I'll take care of you!!! As for the hair, my hairdresser is GREAT when it comes to knowing how to cut my hair so it's more or less wash and wear -- I love the style right now -- I can wash it and do nothing - and it's straight, or I can put some mousse in it and scrunch it and it's curly -- not sure where the curl is coming from, as I've always had straight hair; but everytime I get it cut, there's more of it! I'm sure she'll be able to figure out something for you, too, Daisy!
  7. I think I would be talking to your surgeon or a pharmacist -- I know Fosamax is a tricky drug and you have to follow the instructions exact or you can have problems -- my dad's wife was on it for quite some time - she had to go off of it as it caused severe diarrhea and was causing her dehydration. BE CAREFUL.
  8. Congrats on your surgery date. It will be here before you know it -- try to let the excitement emotion overtake all the others!
  9. I bought some greek yogurt - bearded opened it one day, took a bite and threw it away - said it was the nastiest stuff he'd ever tasted (it was blueberry flavor I believe) -- so I still have never tasted it! It wasn't FAGE Greek yogurt, but it was greek yogurt - does it make a difference??
  10. It's funny - when I lived in Indianapolis, I could never find anything at Kohl's that I really liked -- now that they are in Las Vegas, it's like my favorite store. Everything always seems to be on sale and their clearances are awesome!
  11. :sleep0::lol0::lol0::lol0: Susan, you crack me up ...
  12. WELCOME JEFF and thank you for sharing your wonderful story. I am SO glad you are going to be able to have your surgery and take your life back. You're too young to be suffering any longer. Keep us posted on your progress and never, never hesitate to ask any questions - we're all here for the same reasons and we're all here to support one another. Thank you for sharing!
  13. Hi Beth - glad everything we had told you about Mexicali you found to be true -- so happy to hear you're doing well. Will be anxious to hear about your weight loss when you do weigh -- I admire your strength in not hopping on the scale. Keep us posted!
  14. FANTASTIC Jane -- I am SO HAPPY for you -- I can't wait to get to onederland, however, I've got a ways to go yet and my scale seems to be stuck -- I haven't lost a single pound this week :sleep0: Keep up the good work!!!
  15. Go buy some perfume or some thing like that at VS -- then you'll have the bag ... they buy your sexy frilly outfit somewhere else less expensive -- Kohl's has really cute stuff and there's lots of lingerie sites online.
  16. I don't find the Bare Minerals that expensive when you figure that the foundation lasts about 6 months - it's $25 --- how much do you pay for the liquid stuff and how long does it last? I think in the long run, it's less expensive -- and next time I am running low I'm going to check out the site Tiffy gave me on ebay! I don't own any other make-up - I threw it all out once I found out how much I love Bare Minerals ... I've converted a few friends, both my sisters, my sister-in-law and my dad's wife! If it was a home-based business - live tupperware - I'd sell it in a heartbeat!
  17. No cabs for us - we drive to the casinos - and we valet - it's free - only a tip - $1-$2 and so much easier and less expensive than a cab or messing with parking garages down on the strip. You don't have to bring LOTS of money - just your debit card!!!
  18. Renee - Congratulations - that is absolutely fantastic -- welcome to the forum and I'm sure you'll be off that last BP medication in no time at all.
  19. I wear makeup every day to work and if we're going out on the weekends -- if we're staying home or just running errands, I generally don't put on any makeup. I'm like Tiff - I wear Bare Minerals and seldom wash my face before going to bed -- and it does cover the splotches. It's all natural so it doesn't clog your pores or anything like that. I was my hair every other day and on the days I don't wash it, if it's all wacky, I at least wet it down and do a quick scrunch style ... I NOW know what we're doing while you are in Las Vegas -- we're going to get you a bare minerals make up at Ulta and I have an appt. to get my hair done on the 14th so you can go with me and maybe my gal can help you with your hair while I'm "curing" under the dryer ... you're gonna go home a new woman ... heck; maybe we'll find you a man while you're here and a job too!
  20. Congratulations Judy - third time will be the charm. Sorry to hear about your hubby's layoff- however, God will provide and it sounds as though you've got a good head start on things. Take care and thanks for sharing your news.
  21. My friend is home from her vacation so I'm excited to hook up with her and begin a regular exercise routine after work each evening --- I've set my alarm for 5:30 am with the hopes that I can get my butt out of bed in the morning and do my pilates workout ... I used to have no trouble getting up early; since the surgery though, I need a lot more sleep than I did beforehand.
  22. Thanks Chancie - yes it does help - I am 6 weeks out and I am finally beginning to figure it all out - especially coupled with my spasming esphogus - I eat much slower and I'm learning my full point - and I don't push it after that. Thanks for pointing out too that it passes after 2-3 months.
  23. I don't see a difference when I look in the mirror or at pictures - I can tell in that I can wear certain clothes that I hadn't been able to before -- Bob says he can tell and people at work have commented -- however, at 30 lbs., I just don't see it yet.
  24. My guess with you is that it was nerves and stress about the situation with Bill.
  25. Daisy - quit worrying - bring what you want, wear what you want -- we're not going to criticize you - and remember we just started this journey and you're 10 from goal ... so if you want to compare rolls of fat, I'm pretty certain I will win ... just come with the attitude that you're going to have a GREAT TIME and we're going to get some great pictures!
