I had an appt this past mon for my first fill and my kids got the stomach bug... so I canceled and rescheduled for this coming Monday. I am thankful since I got the bug last night and was vomiting! LOL found out I DO chew my food well LOLOLOL.!!!! Think I will stick with the pre op diet until after my fill! I lost 4 lb today LOL. So if you are coming off the liquid diet to real food you will gain weight because there is food in your gut... like me 4 lb!
  8. I love the spa stuff , but if you are not into it how about a gift card to your fav whole foods store, electronics store, Costco, sports store etc?
  9. actually I teach Red Cross course specifically the child related onces... and we teach against raising a childs arms when they are choking NOR do you pat them on the back as that can further lodge the item!. if they are coughing etc you leave them alone and let them work it out. If the child looks paniced and cannot breathe or make noise then you take the appropriate action that includes abdominal thrusts.... unconscience child is much like cpr with checking the mouth for objects between thrusts and breathes. I have been teaching for over 10 years.
  10. I don't have a fill yet but I notice a difference when I stand or sit as well, but with the sitting If I slouch I feel it if I sit up well and back a little I am fine. Includes how I feel it when I drink.
  11. you suddenly have the urge to clean out your closet and drawers and try everything on that used to be too small and it fits!, and ALL your larger clothes find a way into a box to be donated " this time I do not set them aside for later" Closet cut down by 2/3 s !!!!
  12. I will never again hoard my overweight clothes that may fit me when I regain... CUZ I AM NOT GOING BACK! I will never again buy jeans that will stretch ie Gloria Vanderbilt.

  15. Hi My name is Lorrie I am a food addict. Ditto you hit the nail on the head. All of my social life is around food, meet the girls go out to eat, family , eat, go out somewhere, stop for food. Yup I am a addict.
  16. Ladies, it is cuz your tummy is swollen, wait til the swelling goes down and you will be fine on the liquids, trust me. less than a week it took me. i was thinking for days there is no way I am even going to come close on the water, now I can drink at a normal rate.
  17. Very true Jachut.... I couldn't run up a flight of stairs much less 2 that I can do now without gasping for breath and feeling my legs would give out. And this is only a few months difference. My bike rides have increased too. I am happy with the progress and looking forward to more.
  18. they are but we don't have the cardio capabilities to go with! I can leg press a lot... I can pick a grownup and put them a cross my shoulders and do leg squats. but cardio is what I need more building on. Not that any adult appreciates me doing that and my back doesn' t either. but I do it occasionally just to prove a point.
  19. I went to sears 10 or 11 days post op and did the elliptical for 10 min with no problem. I was amazed. I really liked it. I then walked around the mall for a couple of hours.... but then again I have been riding my bicycle (not since surgery) around 3-4 miles at a time, up small inclines so that probably helped me out.
  20. I have been shopping for one of those clothing racks... My husband won't let me buy one till January probably the end of Jan since we are looking to buy a house.
  21. I was banded the same day as you. I only lost about 8lb post op... I am eating solids now. I am maintaining the weight I did lose though, trying to stay incontrol, wicked head game. I have my first fill this coming Monday, I am thankful I don't have to wait so long. I have been trying to train myself to drink slowly and eat slowly during this time since if I screw up it doesn't hurt! Don't fret just try to make sensible choices, eat off a smaller plate and practice chewing and eating slowly. .... don't forget walking and other exercise! Good Luck
  22. I am saving a pair of pants and a shirt I was comfortable wearing.
  23. Let me know when you feel well enough to run around. !!!!
  24. Congrats Dean123 take it easy and really rest, take the pain meds, it will make you sleep even if you don't need them for pain. They had to load me up with IV Fluid just so I wanted to pee. LOL I was being a wise guy when they sent me to pee, standing on one foot to flush the toilet, you know the drill! I amazed myself.
